Excellent vegetarian food shop. The food is delicious; I've tried lentil pies, mushroom quiche and hot chips. The hot chips are actually from potatoes (well who knows what fries are made of from other places hey) that are cut up by the ladies who run the shop!

The prices are very reasonable for the quality and size of servings; the mushroom quiche is $5.50 and the slice is huge. The Lentil pie I think was $4.00, which I reckon you'd be paying for a factory-produced questionably-filled pie from a deli.

There are a range of fresh drinks made to order that are good size and excellent price, $5 for a large fresh juice.

The service is prompt and efficient; you may be met by a smile occasionally but more often not. It's not a bad experience, the ladies just seem harried. I guess you notice the difference since you expect quality vego places to be staffed by tie-dye wearing hippie types who meditate between customers and thus are smiling beatifically when you walk in.

The shop itself is clean and light. No luxury furnishings, just clean tables and a nice little oasis in the midst of the Port.

Worth the trip for dedicated vegos for yummy food and quick service.

Went to this bakery to grab lunch on the run. The vietnamese meat rolls are excellent. The range is not exhaustive but they have the popular choices - pork, chicken etc. The rolls are lovely and fresh, and they don't stint on fillings.

The bakery items look scrumptious and are very cheap in comparison to other bakeries lately. I bought a donut and it was heavenly - the cookies are also great and are huge - only $1.50 each.

The shop itself is small and rough-and-tumble; as often are the places where they concentrate on providing an excellent product rather than amplifying the atmosphere. Personally I prefer excellent products over nice floors :)

Worth a stop on South road for sure next time you're crawling past in traffic :)

This review is for Rite Price Grocery Clearance Store, Prospect SA

Rite Price is a discount grocery store. Many of their items are out of date, however many are not and are sold by Rite Price for various reasons, such as businesses going broke etc.

The prices are sometimes incredibly low - and for a few items they are just 'normal' like regular supermarket prices.

I've had to ask for help on some occasions (as I've bought boxes and boxes of items!) and the Prospect store staff have pretty much always been very helpful and obliging.

The store is not luxurious but always tidy and you can get your items quickly and easily - which is what counts.

For anyone who might turn their nose up at shopping at Rite Price, I'd say give it a go because you often see 'luxury' brands/items pop up in there for a fraction of the normal cost.

I have been here a couple of times. The vietnamese rolls are nice, freshly made for you on the spot. The prices range from $3.50 for a vegetarian roll so very good value - my favourite is BBQ Pork for $4.50.

The sushi is good, and they also have fried sushi as well which is a yummy occasional calorific splurge.

The ladies are very nice and friendly - the shop is never flat out busy, just nice and casual with a good flow of people through, so I never have to wait long.

I've not tried anything yet, but they have a nice range of pastries/sweets at what appear to me to be very reasonable prices.

If I were a tradie doing the rounds in this area I'd definitely add this to my list of tuck shops.

Overall a nice cheap place to have a fresh lunch.

WOMO allows me to review businesses I have patronised, which gives me back a little power as a consumer! It allows me to reward and praise those businesses who deliver an outstanding experience - and likewise I'm able to deliver feedback to businesses that are not performing as well. Providing positive feedback helps others find the business; negative feedback delivered constructively should help business owners identify problems and address them, and if not, it serves as a warning to future customers.

The WOMO website allows me to accomplish all this in a safe and equitable manner, on an easy-to-navigate website.

The only suggestion I have to improve the site is to better organise and display the special offers from businesses in each area; I do want to know about what special offers are in my area, but I don't have the time to scroll through so many pages browsing the specials. The search tool is sometimes hit and miss - I always specify Adelaide areas but sometimes get Melbourne/Aus wide results. Maybe just a one-liner per special announcing the company name and offer - and allow click-throughs to see more detail?

I booked in to have my eyebrows done. I have some positive and eyebrow-raising negative feedback...

The eyebrow raising:
All new customers must have an 'initial appointment' regardless of the state of their eyebrows for $65. (Yes, Sixty Five dollars).

You must pay for the entire treatment in advance. So I guess if you're not satisfied you can't not pay. (Trust is grudgingly awarded to repeat customers with only 50% upfront required.)

I have quite full eyebrows, and have always been careful to maintain them fuller rather than plucked to high heaven - and so I think I cut short the Eyebrow Queen's MO as she couldn't really find anything to criticise. This is just my opinion, but it seems a good deal of the EQ's 'superiority' lies in her commencing the treatment with some hearty criticism and tut-tutting over the state of your existing brows, before 'rescuing' them ("Don't despair! Most eyebrows can be saved" - www.eyebrowqueen.com.au)

The actual brow shaping was just a normal shaping as far as I'm concerned; the only difference was that she trimmed some eyebrow hairs in addition to waxing, but I do know other salons do this as well. I'd been kind of hoping for something WOW - but it was just same old same old. I certainly wasn't in there for as long as the apppointment time was booked.

The positive:
The brow colour (I lightened mine a little) was good - it didn't seem to be a full bleach like I'd had before, but rather the colour was peppered through, so some hairs were lighter, some still darker. It was nice.

I also had my eyelashes tinted, and it was a very smooth and eye-irritation-free process. Unfortunately they don't have (or didn't have in stock at the time) the blue-black for eyelash tinting, just plain black.

Overall verdict: if you're pretty happy with your current brows - save yourself $50 and get a wax at your local.

I bought a RIHAC CISS from a store here in Adelaide. The idea is fantastic - a continuous ink supply saving you time and hassle changing cartridges as well as money - the amount of ink is fantastic and would save you a fortune from buying cartridge after cartridge.

Unfortunately for us we ran into a couple of problems; which are likely more to do with us than the CISS but I'll mention them anyway.

Installation - it was quite fiddly to install on our EPSON printer; we never quite got it right and so always had some fiddly issues with the line feed into the printer, and we were forever having to reset the computer into thinking the cartridge had just been changed before it would print. I'd suggest, if you're at all unsure, pay extra to have it installed professionally, which was an option at the shop we bought it at - but fairly pricey which was why we had a go at home. In hindsight I should have ponied up the extra $$.

Longevity - if you happen to go through a spell of not using the printer much, I found that the ink lines receded/dried up and it took quite a lot of effort to get the lines running cleanly again. This is probably our issue for not printing as much as a CISS really warrants to enjoy the savings.

Oh, i just recalled another point too - we moved house and the ink tank came a cropper and splashed all over the carpet. I was horrified until I easily cleaned up the ink by just first blotting with some paper towel, then blotting with a sponge and water then blotting with paper towel again. It came up perfect.

So overall - kudos to RIHAC for a great idea and great quality product - if you print a lot and regularly I'd recommend one wholeheartedly.

This review is for Red Cross Baby Seats, Mile End SA

verified email - 22 Feb 2013

I have had my baby seat installed here 3 times - once before the birth of my baby, then again when we swapped the seat into my sister's car while she borrowed mine, and back again into my car.

First time it was installed fine.
The second time it was removed and installed into my sister's car fine.
The third time - was when the fun started.

My sister, after borrowing my car for an interstate trip, took my car back in to have the seat refitted after their trip. I called ahead to the red cross as I'd forgotten to remind my sister to have them install the seat facing forward as my baby was now 6 months old. The documentation with my seat indicated I could have it forward facing from 6 months.

The lady on the phone explained that I was putting my baby at risk - everyone knew that a baby was only ready to face forward from around 8 months or older. I didn't even get the chance to say it was what was recommended when I bought the chair.

When my sister arrived, the lady scolded her (!!!) for so carelessly endangering a baby - my sister replied that she was just bringing the car in to have the seat fitted. When the technician arrived, the lady exclaimed over our request to have the seat facing forward and joined the technician in exclaiming how ridiculous we were. (By this time my sister was feeling really harrassed).

The technician got to work and noticed that we had a toy sitting with the chair. He picked it up and tossed it across the car like rubbish saying 'this is dangerous'. He apparently didn't get the response he wanted, so he retrieved the toy, held it 2cm from my brother in law's face and brandished it saying "how would you like this to hit you in the head at speed in the car?" before again tossing it across to the back of the car.

He then shook his head and said that there was no way the seat would go into the car without purchasing an additional strap. My sister asked why and encouraged him to elaborate - he explained that he'd been doing carseats for years "Missy", and that the straps provided with this particular brand of seat were never suitable and not long enough for the car.

My sister then told him that the seat was originally installed once by this same store; and was removed and installed the week prior for my sister's trip.

He then changed his tune and harrumphed that he would try it with the existing straps and voila - it fit.

Obviously the technician took offence at my unwitting request to have the baby seat facing forward and decided to fleece us for the cost of an unnecessary strap.

The behaviour of both receptionist and technician were over the top rude and unecessary. Simple explanations of '6 months is too soon' and 'this toy is unsafe' would have sufficed. Beware being charged for 'additional items' at this outlet.

This review is for Dale Wellcoat, Henley Beach SA

Dale is an excellent masseuse - I have had lymphatic drainage, remedial and relaxation massages with her. The massages have assisted with chronic back pain as well as helping me to rediscover my neck (I am one of those people who hunch their shoulders when stressed!!) - after a massage my shoulders are back where they belong and I can see my neck!

In particular Dale makes me feel extremely comfortable, I'm not embarrassed having a massage, my privacy is always respected. Dale also has a wonderful "bedside manner" - if you'd like to chat a bit, you're welcome to chat - and if you're just plum tuckered out and just want silence, you can have that too.

The clinic is very relaxing, much attention is paid to ambience here to ensure clients are soothed and comfortable.

I find the price very reasonable for a quality, full hour long massage.

The service is fast - it has to be as this place is ALWAYS busy.

Great simple service, in a clean tidy store.

The vietnamese rolls here are the real attraction - people are lined up on any given day at any time (I think they open at 4 or 5am or something crazy like that) for the rolls, especially the roast pork roll - delicious!
