Love the food, the sizzling plates are amazing. Very friendly and reasonably priced. Very cosy atmosphere. Try the sesame ice cream for desert!
We tried the sushi platter here. Small is around $60 (for 3-4 people). It is slightly towards the expensive side for the portion they gave us, but overall the fish was fresh and tasty.
Eat here all the time! Very authentic decor, including the sushi chef. :) The food is delicious, great variety and delicious interesting desserts. All the staff speak English well and the till area is covered in awards they have won. Make sure you have a full wallet as it can be a little pricey.
After being in Japan, I realize Asakusa is the closest thing to real Japanese food in Melbourne! See you soon Asakusa! :)
Asakusa is the sort of restaurant that we feel lucky to live close to! A very authentic Japanese restaurant which is reasonably priced and also allows BYO. The sushi/sashimi here is extremely fresh (we've heard that the sushi chef is ex-Daimaru, but not sure if that's true!), some of the best we've found in Melbourne. Service is always friendly and prompt and it treads that lovely fine line between always having lots of diners, but easy to get a booking. Highly recommended.
Beautiful fresh sashimi prepared fresh in front of you. Service is good for a local suburban restaurant but not extra special. Staff are polite. Prices are pretty good. Sushi chef is fabulous.
Very authentic looking Japanese restaurant. Great service and when you arrive they give you a small dish of Japanese Edamame beans which are delicious. The food is fantastic, one of my favourite Japanese restaurants.
Approximate cost: $15
