Absolutely love Bodhi. Yum Cha at lunch time is a must - heaps to choose from and almost everything is incredible. Probably one of my favourite vegan restaurants in Sydney - I recommend to all visitors.
Vegan dim sum style restaurant with beautiful outdoor heated seating for all year round. This place gives vegans a great opportunity to eat dumplings. The menu is broad and features many great mains, however it is much more of a tapas sharing atmosphere.
Its a little expensive but again the same time worth every penny. its a beautiful setting, food is made fresh and staff are very friendly. i would recommend to anyone even though food is 100% animal free!
Approximate cost: $10
Bodhi is a Buddhist restaurant only serving vego food but disguised as the real thing.
We had 'peiking duck' and 'tempura prawns' as well as some traditional asian style vego dishes.
Finding this place is tricky, especially for an out of towner. Google shows it directly across from the Sheraton On The Park - on the other side of Hyde Park. Well, it is... sort of. But you need to walk across the courtyard between the Catherdral and the swimming pool, then head down the stairs on the right.
Place finally found - the food is fabulous, the location wonderful and it would be sensational on a balmy Summers eve.
Thanks for the tip about the location.
I booked one of our function here when one of my office mates resigned. The person resigning is not a vegetarian but really surprised that the foods are great. I was surprised myself as I am not a vegetarian. The restaurant is good and is a good value for money. This is good if you are looking for Chinese Vegetarian Yumcha.
I went here looking for yum cha, without realising that only vegetarian yum cha is offered, so I was initially disappointed by the absence of meat and what I am used to expecting in the way of yum cha. The tranquil surrounds, however made this a wonderful dining experience and the dishes were very tasty and creative, so perhaps meat was not necessary after all. There's plenty of outdoor seating and the quiet location under St Mary's Cathedral, Hyde Park make this a rare find. Perhaps a little pricey, though for only veggies.
Great place for lunch on a sunny day. Not crowded, close to city but in a quiet nook, alongside park. Good service, and though not a fan of Yum Cha, found the delivery here very accommodating. Yum Cha advantage retained, you choose how much or how little you want to eat and even individual selections can be shared between your party and hence sample wider variety. Food was very good. Service was polite, discrete and attentive. Price was very reasonable. I'll be going back.
