Din Tai Fung is an awesome place to eat! Be prepared for a wait during peak times as this restaurant is very popular, we waited 40 minutes on Friday night. All the dishes are delicious and designed to be shared. The service is pretty efficient considering how busy the restaurant is and I felt that all our food came to the table fairly quickly. I was disappointed that some of my favourite dishes from the franchise in Singapore were not on the Australian menu. Overall, I was impressed with Din Tai Fung and I will be back to eat here again soon!

A great meal everytime pretty much sums up din tai fung. The quality of the dumplings and dishes is always perfect, whilst it is generally more expensive than its competitors it is well worth paying a bit more for. Definitely try the beans and pork dish yum yum.

This is an amazing place to eat! We got there when it opened and within half an hour, there was a queue to get inside. And no wonder! The food here is great! The dumplings are great. Could have been a bit hotter, but popping one into your mouth and tasting all that delicious soup... there is nothing better than that! We also had a hot and sour soup, but it didn't taste sour at all (we added more vinegar at the table). But the other stuff we tried was great - the fried rice, more dumpling, tasty side dishes. Service was great as well. You would even look in the direction of a waiter and they would come straight to you. No waving your arms around like an idiot to grab someone's attention. Food was relatively quick as well. Overall, a wonderful experience! Yum yum!

Anyone who knows me , knows I love dumplings and I have been here many times for my dumpling fix. I like to come around Midday to ensure my wait time for a table is no more then 15-20 minutes. This place is like a mad house at lunch times. Crazy!!

My faves are the prawn dumplings, prawn rice noodles, steamed dim sims and my kids love the sticky rice cakes with shallots and tiny shrimp inside!

Service can be a hit and miss at times. A few times, food has taken awhile to get here, not too good when you have whiny , hungry children! But the food is great, hot and enjoyable.

Great place for lunch, just try and get here early before peak times! Will try and come for a dinner service next time. Repeat customer here!

Great dumplings

I find the food exceptional and well-priced. The Xiao Long Bao are absolutely amazing and I also love the Drunken Chicken. I had eaten truffles a few times before but these dumplings really enhance the truffle flavor. I have eaten Din Tai Fung at Taipei 101 and the food in World Square Sydney is as good. One of my favorite parts might have been the simple, port and vegetable wonton soup. So flavoursome. the green tea was nice, the strawberry was delicious, and the mango thing with slices and a huge tower of mango ice with mango icecream on top was out of this world. We'll be back for sure.

Not the best dumplings I've ever had but their hygienic is good, covering mouth in the kitchen. The problem is that the service is getting worst every time I go there, probably too busy.
That night we ordered the steam fish but we found it not very fresh and we told them but they denied it by saying that all the fish are like this taste. very disappointed.

The Xiao Long Baos at Din Tai Fung is the nicest dumplings I have ever tasted. They are freshly made and taste delicious. It costs $12.80 for eight which is quite reasonable. The noodle dishes and fried rice are delicious too! The restaurant gets very busy at night or weekends. Wait time can get up to an hour. I'm not sure if they allow phone bookings, if they do, it's best to make reservations. The service is efficient and quick. If you love dumplings, you should definitely visit Din Tai Fung.

This is one the better restaurant around the city and the Din Tai Fung restaurant is actually not found just only in Sydney but it has franchises around the whole of South East Asia. This itself can prove just how much quality the food have to be on hand for them to be so successful.

The xiu long bao is the one on everyone's mouth when they visit this restaurant but I like to give some credit to the other Chinese food. Very good Shanghai-style represented in this restaurant. Ambience and decor is good but the only complain would be that one would have to wait maybe half an hour to an hour to get a seat. The staff are also not very helpful as they are quite busy but worth it for the food.

If you're visiting Sydney and you are looking for a great Chinese restaurant, Din Tai Fung is definitely one of them! It's a fantastic restaurant known for their dumplings. Each basket comes with around 4, 6 or 8 dumplings so it's a great place to dine at with a group of friends because it's so easy to share each dish. We had a host of dumplings, from prawn dumplings, pork dumplings and beef dumplings.

The dumplings are all made fresh and when you bite into them, the soup juices from the filling starts dripping out! (So I would recommend that you just pop the dumpling whole into your mouth because it does get a bit messy). They're a lot smaller than dumplings I've seen at some Melbourne restaurants, but they are still very tasty.

For dessert I played it safe and had the Mango Pudding with condense milk. Simple option when it comes to Chinese desserts but you can never go wrong with it.

The service here was very good as well, considering how big and busy the are. We went just before the lunch peak-time though, so we didn't have to wait long to be seated. You should be aware that more often than not you would probably have to share a table with other people. We had to considering there was only 2 of us, but it was perfectly fine. Also, another great thing is that they give you a slip for you to select what you want. Once you're ready, just hand up the sheet and then they'll bring out the dishes to you. Easy and quite efficient!

And I was surprised that they didn't mix up the orders with the others on the table as well!

I would definitely recommend ordering the Dai Tin Fung vegetarian salad with seaweed, tofu and glass noodles as an entree. It's a very light salad and a great way to start the meal. Also try the Lychee Mint Juice. It is absolutely delicious! It is very sweet (lychee juice) however the mint adds to the flavour and it makes the perfect drink during summer!

Approximate cost: $10 per dumpling basket

We enjoyed our first time dinner here. The dumplings were of a high quality. However, the atmosphere is very crowded and busy, it makes it hard to talk. Staff were friendly.

Approximate cost: $16
