Fortunately, Dr Capell has retired already, the worst paediatric doctor to diagnose a disability. We had bad luck to be under the care of this doctor at Box Hill Hospital, my son was 2.5 yr old with speech delay and other developmental delays. Dr Capell run several genetic tests and never could explain my son's issues, even he told us many parents wanted to get an Autism diagnosis with the intention to get money from government. It was upsetting when he said my son could have a brain damage or simple developmental delay. He concluded my boy didn't have autism and if he had it, he was going to grow out of that when he got older!! We lost 1.5 years of my son's life having appointments, tests, assessments to convince Dr Capell my son had ASD. Happy he has retired finally.
If you have a child with any development delay.....dont go to see him at all. Waste of time!
Absolutely wonderful doctor. Great bedside manner. Kind and caring. Explains everything really well and just makes you feel at ease. I'm incredibly thankful he was the doctor rostered on the day I gave birth!
I would 100% see him again with my children should I need a pediatrician in the future.
Also, comparatively, very reasonably priced.
A very professional well skilled doctor , very respectful of parents views , a great listener , gentle with babies , always on time and very detailed in his work .
Also very clean always washes his hands before and after seeing each baby .
Approximate cost: $150
Bill has been all of my 3 children's paediatrician. He is amazing. I wouldn't go to anyone else! my 3rd child was given a paed when he was born and she didn't even pick up that his lung collapsed. He had to be transferred by ambulance to the Royal Womens the day after he was born and I didn't even get to see him. As soon as he was transferred back to the hospital he was born at we put him under Bill straight away. He is a godsend!
Bill was our son's ped at Mitcham Private. We sought Bill's help when our son had issues feeding. Bill was very accommodating, reassuring and caring through the stressful ordeal. Bill diagnosed our son with a condition that required surgery. We can't thank him enough for his help.
Bill has a great sense of humour, is sympathetic and very professional when dealing with you and your baby. He also doesn't schedule unnecessary visits which is good for the hip pocket!
The worst paediatric doctor have ever met. Great sense of humor...? of course! If you child has a type of disability dont get an appoitment to see him. He doesn t give a diagnosis because he doesnt know what is happening!! waste your time, get an experienced doctor
