Great place for meals but quite expensive but like the others said, its a historic building and has been around for a very long time. Just to sit within its walls is a good enough reason to go there for a meal. Great tasting food too.

If you want to sit down for a classy meal this is the place to come but expect to pay for it. One of the oldest hotels in Bendigo and its history shows in its dining area. Lovely meals and they serve an excellent breakfast menu.
Comfortable seating area that is spacious and relaxing, licensed so you can enjoy a drink with your meal, and the pokies are handy next door.
ATM onsite

Love the little basement bar downstairs. Nice spot for a few drinks with friends. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Lots of different areas within the one venue. Good central location.

The Shamrock is in a historical building on the corner of Pall Mall and has a pleasant atmosphere with its older style timber interior.

Waiters are generally attentive except for when they are busy - they almost need to employ more staff when they know it will be a busy occasion.

The cafe meal sizes can be a little oversized (although the males at our table didn't mind). They serve good quality coffees and cakes . . . . I have been here a few times after an evening out for a late supper.

Approximate cost: $16

I stayed at this beautiful old building last night. While the hotel has quite a history it is in great repair and obviously well cared for (apart from the odd minor chip on the skirting boards). My room appeared to have been recently redecorated and was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the city. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly, and the location is convenient for shops, restaurants, gardens etc.
