Since the demise of Borders, Mag Nation is one the only decent magazine stores around that has a large range of common and lesser known magazines. This site has two floors of magazine with a great variety.

There's a huge array of magazines on offer, and almost every time I enter Mag Nation I leave with something. I usually purchase design magazines and publications from here, and there's often back issues of the quarterlies (or less frequent) available which is helpful. Prices are fine, sure some of the less frequent publications in the design sector can cost upwards of $25 but that's what you'd expect really.
I went in here looking for a particular monthly magazine (a nerd one), and whilst I was quite prepared to spend slightly more than the usual $11.95 that I normally pay for it was shocked to see that instead they were wanting to charge me over $23 for it. This for a magazine that was a couple of months old! I cant vouch for all the other mags that they have there - and to be fair they have so many that it does your head in - but I will probably save myself the effort and not shop there again. Staff were friendly but mostly unhelpful as well when I asked where I could find this particular magazine.
This was my favourite place to bring my laptop and study! It was perfect to be able to relax and unwind with a good magazine, no strings attached. They have an amazing range of magazines aimed at individuals interested in art and design, such as the Curvy series. Also their coffee is absolutely fantastic!
a really great place to read mags from all over the world. it is relaxed and the coffee is good too, like a library for magazines. often go there if i have and hour to spare. no pressure to buy the mags, highly recommended.

A nice quiet spot in the city to relax. You can browse through the magazines hassle free and there are plenty of materials from a wide range of genres to choose from.
This is a fantastic place to get introduced to all sorts of life-style mags, hobbies, interests. If you have the time you can make yourself comfortable on one of the many lounges and read any of the mags on display. Great gift ideas and groovy items.
This place has a seriously groovy vibe. It's down the fug-end of Elizabeth Street, but don't let that deter you. The staff are switched-on, GREAT looking and arty, and you will defintely find a present for a cool/emo/arty friend. Imported rare mags, fantastic T-shirts and postcards.
I love Magnation, I often stop in when I'm in the city for a coffee, and to browse the magazines, especially the overseas gossip mags, and glossies. They have a HUGE range, and you can browse without obligation to buy. They often have cool promotions, like rolling a dice and if you get an even number you get your coffee for free! The staff are friendly and happy to help, and they have free wireless internet. Overall a great place that I reccommend a visit to.
