$10 steak with chips and mush and mushroom sauce.... I was yummy, great value, good service and a very clean hotel. Would recommend to anyone. Oysters were very nice too for around $20 for 12. Parking is at the rear or you can park at the tyre shop at night

Excellent revamp on a tired old pub. The owners have brought life back to this old pub, giving ipswich a fun, quality venue to meet for drinks or a meal. Excellent service.

Work Christmas party a few years ago - they fit us in at the very last moment and did it gladly. Wonderful range of food perfectly cooked. It was very cosy and had a great vibe

We went here for lunch from work, as we do to check out local eating houses usually on a monthly basis, and found the food and service to be very good especially with their specials.

We plan on going back to share the experience with other groups from work.

Approximate cost: $10 - $25

Only just "discovered" the steaks at the Strand Hotel, had the Lunch special which was cooked just as I requested, Medium. Service is great and the beer cold even have chilled glasses. The steak was so good I complimented the chef. Will be going back again soon.

Sometimes you can travel a long way for a top steak - think "Old Homestead Steakhouse" in New York and a bit closer to home the steaks served in the open at "Undurra" in the North. So when you happen upon their equal and its right here in our hometown, the pleasure just got immeasurable. I feasted on the 400 gram Prime Rib cooked to perfection - I asked for medium rare and that's what I got! This in itself is almost would be worth the visit but really the salad was to die for. It happens that I'm not the worlds greatest "chip" fan but something went wrong - I ate them all and enjoyed them to the last crispy crunch - bravo Chef!! A total 5 star meal with the plus that I didn't have to fly to the other side of the world.

Approximate cost: $I paid 26.95

Interesting comment Circulon. I went to the Homestead in NY and it reminded me of the Strand.

Honestly the best steaks in Ipswich. Superbly cooked steak, a moist & tender house made chicken Kiev and a rich creamy chicken & basil fettucini were the mains we enjoyed after a serve of crunchy cheese & shallot turkish bread. The meals were served with either real creamy potato mash & fresh veges or fresh interesting mixed salad and great chips.

Approximate cost: $12-20
