They cut my dog!!!!!!!! I refuse to let my sweet and gentle boy be in the hands of them again! I have had trouble finding a groomer in the past but these guys took the cake. My spaniel went in to be stripped, I asked many times if the groomer could do this and was assured they could. He came out clipped naked and worse still cut and bleeding. I was offered no explanation and no mutter of an apology. I had to take him right to the vet to be glued up! Stay away and protect your dogs from them.

Groomer here has no idea. Sent my girls out looking like rats, then I was told they had knots. They did not, I brush them nightly and have them groomed every 4 weeks!!! It has taken months to regrow their beautiful hair and I will never ever ever leave them in the hands of this chop shop again. They were stressed and worked up and very happy to be home, one also has a graze on her tummy that looked like a shallow cut, It saddens me that others have had this exact same result. I found the staff to be very rude and self riotous, not willing to admit a mistake was made or offer an apology. Bad bad service

NEVER AGAIN!! Horrible groomers, brought my dog out to me only half done and he was cut!! When I spoke to staff they were rude. I have found the staff to be very unknowledgeable and haven't a clue how to handle dogs. I have since found a new and better groomer in Williamstown, I will never put my dog through the ordeal of going to hairy hounds again!!

I have been taking my 2 poodles to Hairy Hounds for several years now and never had a bad experience the entire time. The girls are helpful with information and truly care! My poodles are excited to go to daycare and come home exhausted. Grooming has been exceptional ,except when I haven't been an exceptional owner. I realize a groomer is as good as the condition of the dogs coat .I don't believe they would ever take liberties in shaving ,whenever the girls have been matted I have been contacted and informed that the humane and ethical solution is to shave and I have been in full agreement. I don't believe the reviews stating that Hairy Hounds does anything without permission. This is why I have my girls groomed every 6 to 8 weeks so I am able to have the clips I desire. Reading the other reviews it seems that others have not understood the care and concern Hairy Hounds has for DOGS,,,. I know several owners who use Hairy Hounds and share my opinion that it is the best dog facility in Melbourne. As owners do your own research and I'm sure you will discover Hairy Hounds is a fantastic facility!

I took my pooch here third year in a row now and previously very happy with the service and grooming service until now. I will never go back there again. Came out looking nothing like what I had instructed and what has previously been done in the past without issues. When I questioned their grooming the staff came out to discuss with me and rudeness was an understatement!. I had to visit another groomer straight after, to finish the bad work and incomplete grooming as I was apprehensive to send him back in to have his grooming corrected after the attitude I received from the staff. Seriously people, aren't you concerned about the future of your business?. these are precious animals we consider as our children and therefore we expect care and respect for our animals and the owner. Wish I had of read the reviews before I came back because I see now this place has taken a serious nose dive..farewell!

I have been taking my dog here for 4 years now as i rescued her from the lost dogs home and she turned out to be a working dog, which i wasnt expecting. I DO NOT provide positive feedback very easily unless my expectations have been exceeded - not just met. Hairyhounds has turned out to be a blessing in diguise over the past 4 years, the staff are amazingly caring, thoughtful and go above and beyond if i need anything and yes i can be demanding so that kind of says alot. Being a working dog, she comes home so tired and happy and is still tired the next day as well as that night. i have noticed the other reviews below and can i just say that no one will provide a service that you havent asked for, so i am sure there is more to that story. I do not work for this place but as we know most people just post the bad. I do not trust anyone with my dog - except these guys. i took her to another daycare and had an extremely poor experience. If you want care, honesty and love for your dog, bring it here. If you want someone to fluff your feathers, take you dog somewhere else as it's the love for your dog here, not the money you pay them i have found.

The worst experience I have ever had with a groomer. The staff were so rude, did not listen to a single thing I said, charged $65 and my dog looked no different when I picked her up! They shaved under her ears and cut her, never told me, I found out once inspecting my dog once we were home!!! My dog swims at the beach each day and ended up with knots under her ears, they accused me of not looking after my dog and kept the knots to show me!!! Worst place ever! I only tried them due to our usual groomer being booked out! Never again will I go there!

So disappointed with this dog grooming place, took my poor lil baby to get groomed today and they clipped his nails off causing him to bleed. Didn't listen to a word I said. I took my dog there with no issues and they give him back to me with an issue and still hairy looking not good at all. Not worth the $60 they took off me.

I dropped off our two dogs at Hairy Hounds for a 4 day stay. Needless to say it was the worst experience ever for both our dogs and us on our return to see how they were treated. Our beautiful double coated Chow Chow was shaved to the bone and looked in a deplorable state - we had not given them permission to shave our dog. When we complained and told them that it endangers double coated dog's health to be shaved like that as it removes their protective undercoat, they first claimed that we were the ones who had neglected our dog, then when we explained that our dog is professionally groomed every two weeks, claimed she was then aggressive towards them - she is a 7 month old puppy. Obviously she was unhappy - these people were hurting her. Other people have had similar experiences at this place - staff have a complete lack of knowledge on how to properly treat dogs. Took our dog to the vet and now have to take special care of her all through the intense melbourne summer as she cannot be outside. Being double coated she is now at risk of developing several serious skin conditions and potentially never getting her hair back the way she was - it is deplorable that such businesses are allowed to continue. Our other dog also had a cut on his underside which we discovered after we had picked him up. - Stay well away from this place if you value your best friend's well being.
