I purchased a fan from The Good Guys eBay store with instore pickup at their Bankstown branch. I took along the order email showing I had paid but this didn't satisfy their store staff. Not only did I have to produce two forms of ID, they took copies to place on their file because they said "how do we know you're who you say you are?"!

I also purchased a battery operated salt and pepper mill. When I got it home and put batteries in it, it immediately started smoking and I'm quite sure a fire would have ensued. I took it back for a refund and was asked whether I had inserted the batteries in the wrong way. No apology from their staff at all.
