Having been here once before and having enjoyed the al a carte menu we decided to come for the $24.95 buffet. On arrival we said hello to the young woman behind the counter and she seemed surprised to see us, we asked for a table for two to which she uttered a single abrupt word... "booking?" after replying that we hadn't booked she asked "is table 8 ok?" after we spent a while scanning the room we eventually found our table in the corner where the plain white bathroom tiles meet the pink carpet- cozy! Eventually she said "help yourself" and she proceeded to do what ever it is she does, not moving from the counter.

So we helped ourselves to the buffet; I'd like to say we'd opted for the vegetarian options first but since there was not a single piece of meat in any of the meat curries, no naan bread and the chicken tandoori was empty, the decision had already been made. We sat down and tucked in. Out of the three options the only thing I enjoyed was the chickpea curry (my favourite for the night). The other two dishes were a little salty and the exture was all wrong. Given service was not their strongpoint I got up after 30mins and fetched my own bottle of tap water from the fridge as they clearly had no intention of offering us any drinks.

The meat dishes were eventually topped up and it was like a stampede as the entire restaurant raced over to the buffet table, thankfully we were fourth and fifth in the line and managed to get some meat, although we felt compelled to take tiny serves of each so no one behind us missed out.
Thankfully our self control paid off as the lamb rogan josh, beef vindaloo and butter chicken tasted like it came from a cheap "ready mix jar" and I would have struggled with big serves. The lamb, although quite tender and moist, lacked any flavour (except salt) and the butter chicken was dry and the sauce far too sweet. The vindaloo was the biggest dissapointment of the night and had no heat or taste whatsoever (except salt). We both avoided the "salad" as it was shrivelled on the outside but I was intrigued by the fluroescent green mint/yoghurst sauce, the chutney and mango pickle I tasted a little of each only to find every single one was horrendously salty as well!

The chicken tandoori eventully came out as we were finishing, it was nicely charred and was actually quite tasty.

The desserts were the winner for me, which in an Indian restaurant, came as quite a surprise. The rice pudding had a lovely hint of cardamon and a nice contrasting texture of dried fruits and nuts on top. The the crazy indian donut things(can't remember their name) were soaked in a tasty Indian spiced suger syrup. And the melon salad although looked old and dry ontop was ok as we picked the nice bits from the bottom.

As we paid I felt ripped of. The pleasant demeanour of the young man processing our bill eased this a bit. Although the overall service was inadequate it should also be noted that he was flat out running around the restaurant all night and he did reassure us from time to time that more food would be coming out.

Basically opt for the al a carte menu or takeaway as the buffet will dissapoint and don't expect service, there is none.

Having previously eaten from the Menu which was lovely we were excited to go for the $25.00 Buffet. There were 3 meat curries (Butter Chicken, Lamb Roganjosh and Beef Vindaloo) and 3 vegetarian curries (Veg Korma, a Dahl and Chickpea Masala).

We arrived at 1900 and the meat curries had no meat in the dishes, just sauce and the Tandoori Chicken dish was empty so we sampled vegetarian curries first. The Chickpea Masala was lovely and my favourite for the night. The Korma tasted like it had been made with a jar of bad supermarket sauce and the Dahl reminded me of baked beans. They brought out a small amount of meat to top up the meat curries (I felt like I could only politely take 2 pieces of each meat with sauce as the whole restaurant got up when the meat came out and there wasn't enough for even 10 ppl). The Vindaloo wasn't at all hot and the meat was dry. The Korma was lovely and tender but very bland in flavour and the Butter Chicken, again, tasted like a bad jar of supermarket simmer sauce.

The plate of cucumber and tomato looked like last night's with the cucumber appearing dry and shrivelled up at the edges and the tomato looked mushy. We didn't try it. The bowl of chopped melon looked the same but, we took from the bottom, tasted fine and the water melon wasn't mushy.

In fairness the staff looked exhausted and were very friendly. They had a fridge with soft drinks and water which we helped ourselves to as we were not offered drinks. It's a BYO but I'm not sure about corkage.

Approximate cost: $24.95 Buffet

Friendly and efficient service, great food and well priced. Only suggestion to manager is to reduce lighting and create more Indian atmosphere via Indian music etc. in background rather than just tv but otherwise worth a go...

Approximate cost: $20.00

Dined-in on Sunday 23/09/2012. We ordered Vegetarian with some Tandoori Chicken pieces. The venue is average, but the food is mouth watering. Chef Paramjeet was trained by the best in the industry. Waiter Caran was efficient and friendly. Cashier Preeti was accurate with the bill. A Family Friendly Eatery. A Feast for the palate. Overall a great night eating out at a reasonably modest investment.

Approximate cost: $15-$25

Good to know looks are deceiving!

Chicken Korma is great, and they are very punctual with take away order times. The restaurant itself is nothing special, but that doesn't matter as the food is great at a decent price, all with very nice employees.

have been twice now, the last on father's day... service is impeccable - the waiter is very proud of this establishment, yet humble , with a good sense of humour. The chef has worked in high end establishments and it shows in the quality of the food.
Food was lovely - my son and his girlfriend said that it was the best Indian food they've had. The pistachio kulfi is a MUST. The naans are soft and so nice... highly recommended.

Took my parents there for dinner when they visited. Decor is a bit bland but food makes you forget about that. Not usually a fan of Indian but they changed my mind. Service was efficient. Naan bread was good and prices reasonable.

We order takeaway about once a month. The prices are reasonable and there is a discount for takeaways over $25 ordered before 6:30pm. Butter chicken and Garlic Naan bread is awesome. The time they say it will take is usually accurate. Open 7 days and can get busy on Fri/Sat nights around 7.
