I love this restaurant. I have eaten here a few times, each time ordering something different, and have yet to be disappointed.
I love how child friendly they are. They have a child menu, high chairs available on request, colouring pencils and a small tub of toys to keep little ones happy. All of this doesn't make it feel like a children's cafe though.

Tip: be mindful of the stairs with little ones.

We picked a bad night to attend this restaurant. It was a public holiday so we were hit with a $2 surcharge. The air conditioner was broken and it was an exceedingly hot (39 degrees C) day. Even outside we were sticking to our plastic chairs.
The service was very prompt and our hosts were polite. The food was good, only one person on our table was disappointed but it was due to poor choice, not a bad meal.
Our biggest disappointment was that due to a combination of heat, public holiday and how quiet the restaurant was, a decision was made to shut the restaurant early. While we were fine to stay until we finished our mains we couldn't stay for coffee or dessert. The duty manager was very apologetic and we were compensated with a free round of drinks. Unfortunately the broken air conditioner, $2 per person surcharge and the restaurant closing early really did take away from our otherwise positive experience.

Approximate cost: $15 - $30

My husband and I stayed here for New Years Eve. We picked this hotel for its location primarily but cost was also an option. We also loved how it was a renovated building and had maintained that character throughout. They were also happy with a one night stay where many other hotels expected two or more nights.
The location was absolutely perfect for our needs. We could walk to Finders Street, Federation Square, Treasury Gardens and, most importantly, Birrarung Marr to see the fireworks. It was close enough that we even came back to the hotel between the family fireworks and the midnight fireworks.
Breakfast the next day at Felt was brilliant. I had the french toast brioche with rhubarb and strawberry compote. My husband had a big breakfast. Both were superb and reasonably priced. The only downfall was quite possibly the strongest weak latte I have ever had.
Parking is next door and reception offered to validate our parking ticket to recieve a reduced rate.

Approximate cost: $285 for a king superior room on NYE

My son loves it here. The staff are always friendly and make the time to see if there is any information they need to know for the day. They are really good with getting him settled after I leave and are happy to update me over the phone if I call to check on him. They also give me a run down of his day when I come to pick him up.
I love how the centre can be used for varying amounts of time (half hour blocks) so you pay for what you use and not for a whole day. The only drawback is having to call every Monday to book him in as they don't offer permanent places.

Approximate cost: $9.00 an hour, before government benefits
