Early start with a grp of 6. Quiet.
Told to 'hurry up' with our order, as they 'were busy tonite'
Never got above 1/2 full -and we left last!
Would have sent back my salmon (dry, overcooked OVERPRICED) if
not for the guests.
Maybe thier pizzas are rippers, but the pasta /specials were ordinary.
Not cheap -NOT reccommended.

We have been using Wiltshires for several years now - 3 cars in the family. Ray Wiltshire is a straight down the line operator. Been in business for many years in the same spot. Curteous service, and the 'back room' boys do a good job. I've felt able to rely on Wiltshires for professional advice. I reckon JacciJ got the summary pretty right, but I thought her overall 'mark' was a bit low!
We've been several times, now..and the food and service are lovely.
The menu is not extensive, or cheap, but for a Full Experience (food, wine tasting, scenery, service), it's good value!
We had a 'taste' before lunch (strongly reccommend booking) of the good range of estate wines. Yarra Valley is Pinot & Chard country, but the other reds are terrific.
The dining area is airy, simple..and very pleasant. The staff are great. We had the platter as a starter. Don't be put off by the size -the 'tastes' were sensational. Great way to start with a group.
We have tried a range of the 'mains' and none have disappointed. Estate wines can be had by the glass, with recommendations available. We dipped a little deeper and drank an aged Cabernet with the meal. Lovely!
Our guests, on both visits, enjoyed Shantell, and the 'little extra' treat presented by the staff to honour a birthday was a nice touch.
They have a small range of artworks on display. Others will have to 'rate' them -I'll stick to the consumables!
Approximate cost: $30
we went on Sat nite, and got the table on the footpath (by prior agreement). So the place must have plenty of custom. We liked the fact that they had a full vegetarian banquet, as this suited one of our party. Thought the food was 'at least good'. Several of the pieces were better than that. A favourite was the vegetarian (lentil) salad. The girls ordered a 'fairy floss' thingy at the end, and had a ball with it.
Approximate cost: $35 (banquet)
Don is a good operator, and a nice bloke to boot.
I'm now a regular (after paying less up the road, previously)
Friendly is nice, but the haircut has to be good..and Don delivers.
