I booked a haircut here on a whim as I was in the neighbourhood. After a wash, I was helped by Emma, who talked me through the style of cut I wanted. She was so friendly and nice and really took the time to understand my needs. She was a perfectionist, as my appointment started at 3pm and I didn't leave the salon until about 4.45pm. The cut was absolutely beautiful, exactly how I described and blow wave was perfect too. But the best thing about it was that the whole thing cost me $60! The only downside of this salon is that it does get quite crowded and noisy on a Saturday. Overall, I have not seen such great value for such great quality and service. Will definitely come back to get my hair done with Emma.

This review is for Hairhouse Warehouse, Mulgrave VIC

This Hairhouse Warehouse used to be my regular hair salon for years, however I have moved on since moving away from Mulgrave. I found the haircuts are a bit hit and miss with this salon; I think it depends on the individual hairdresser. I'm not sure if she works here anymore, but Anne was my regular colourist and she does AMAZING colour. She is also great with hair cuts as well. The service is friendly, chatty and casual. Sometimes they're a bit understaffed so your appointments take longer than expected. On one occasion, Anne was not working and I had my hair coloured by someone else. It was awful - two to three shades darker than I had asked for however they assured me the colour would lighten over a few days. I waited a week, and my colour was still too dark. When I came back in to get it stripped back, they charged me an extra $35. As I said, very hit and miss so you have to try and choose one of the more senior stylists to cut and colour your hair.

I bought a Scoopon deal for $69 which included a Colour, Cut and treatment as well as blow wave at Salon A. Totally value for money, seeing as you'd usually pay that much for just an average cut these days. Service was friendly and casual, and the colour was exactly how I'd expect as I just wanted my roots done. However I'm only giving 4 stars because the hair cut was not amazing; the finishes were not perfect, it wasn't exactly the trim that I had asked for and I left the store feeling a bit disappointed. Overall, I won't be returning but I think the Scoopon deal was such excellent value that I don't regret at least trying this salon.

This review is for Oscar Oscar Salon, Chadstone VIC

My experience with Oscar Oscar Chadstone has always been top quality even though I've heard negative feedback from a few friends. However, I get my hair cut by either Jacky or Oscar himself and the style is exactly as I asked for but better because they take everything into account such as your face shape, hair texture and personal style. They styled my hair after the blow wave and it looked amazing when I left the salon. Not to mention the hand massage you're given while your hair is being washed - luxury! The only downside of Oscar Oscar is the price, I paid $150 for a treatment, hair cut and blow wave by Jacky. Really steep if you're just looking for a trim, but totally worth every penny if you need your hair in tip top condition for a special occasion.
