Lots of choice when it comes to furniture, computer items & electrical applicances, & they'll often strike a good deal on larger purchases, such as a dishwasher we bought recently. There can be a problem if the item you want happens to be floor stock & another needs to be ordered in, which happened when we wanted a mattress once.
You can buy all kinds of things here, as well as have your prescriptions filled, just as you'd expect in a pharmacy. It's a small pharmacy so there isn't the huge range of gift items you'd find in larger stores, but there is a nice range of items, and it's a great place to look for that last minute present, especially if you live in the area & don't want to drive too far. Friendly, fast service & good advice.
Sushi is sold in whole rolls, eat in or take away. Various fillings, my favourite is sundried tomato & cashew. Cold drinks also available, I recommend 'Calpis/Calpico soda', which is a milk based carbonated drink in a can. Beautiful sushi, great prices.
Approximate cost: $3.00

Millie's Maa sells personal care products, including soaps, body butters, hand creams and lip balm, all made in Tasmania from natural ingredients. Sales are by party plan, though I bought mine from a stall when we had a 'pre-Christmas shopping experience' at work. The quality and fragrances are beautiful, a real pampering experience, and great if you are enthusiastic about avoiding products with harmful chemical ingredients.
Mostly the standard doctors' surgery experience; the surgery also operates as a skin cancer clinic, & has physiotherapy services. Well equipped, with lots of doctors to choose from, all well qualified & skilled. Waiting time can be lengthy at busy times, & it's hard to get an appointment at short notice. Pleasant & convenient.
Very friendly & helpful service. They stock the usual grocery items plus some more 'exotic' foods, including spices & Japanese cooking ingredients; there is a deli counter, & local fruit & veg are sold. You can order items in, or get a salad roll made up, or book catering platters.
