Gary Renouf Plumbing rescued us after another plumber cancelled our job and we were left in limbo. They were excellent, Craig in the office was fantastic. Oscar was very easy to deal with, he went through what we needed, quoted us the price and booked our job at a time that suited. Our gas water heater decided it was time and burst causing a bit of a mess. I thought i would seek advice on whether there would be something better available. After a few phone calls i found Gary Renouf Plumbing who were able to advise me on a number of options. The original heater was already gas so we decided to go with a continuous flow gas Unit which will never run out of hot water and yet not use any gas whilst it is not in use. The whole job was completed in the same day I called them.

We had a blocked drain problem and my husband contacted your company. He only got the one quote for this very expensive job. I paid the deposit by credit card, and told Paul (who gave us the quote) that I would pay the balance by bank transfer. Whilst Paul told me that I could pay the entire $8,000 balance by credit card, our limit was way below that. I even phoned your office to ask for your bank details, and was told that Paul would give them to me the following day. Unfortunately, my computer died that night and I was unable to do the bank transfer, and told Paul that I would pay the whole amount in cash. We already had $3,000 in cash and I went to the bank to withdraw the extra $5,000. When I went to pay Paul the whole balance of $8,000 in cash, he said that $5,000 had been paid by credit card. I told him no, that was not possible as I had specifically told him that I would do it by bank transfer. Paul even phoned your office as he was convinced that the $5,000 had gone through by card. Evidently. he received the information, that it had not been put on the card, and accepted the whole balance in cash. Imagine my shock when I received a text message from our credit card company to say that we had exceeded our credit limit. I did not think this was possible as I keep a strict tab on what we have spent on the card. I contacted the credit card company – not an easy process as it is Philippine based. Finally, we sorted out that your company had made an unauthorised charge of $5,000. I was not impressed. I phoned your company an left a message, but never received a reply. A couple of hours later I phoned again, and spoke to someone. No apology, just “we can reverse the amount”. I had already made a Bpay transfer to cover the extra unauthorised charge – and this will take up to 3 business days as there is no physical branch that I can make payment to. This has left us with less that $100 in our bank account. To say that we are not happy with your action and response is an understatement! Giving us the $5,000 back in cash on Monday, does not change the fact that until my Bpay to my credit card is cleared we are considerably over our credit limit – and this will affect my credit rating. It also means that we have to make a special trip to the bank to deposit the money back into our account. The work done appears to have solved the problem. The tradesmen were pleasant and polite.

I called Gary Renouf Plumbing for a second opinion after another plumber couldn't fix our blocked drain pipes and quoted $15,000 to replace it all. Mitch and his offsider came and had no trouble in cleaning out the drain. He put in the camera and showed me a small area that the tree roots were coming through and the rest of the pipes were in good condition. Gary Renouf Plumbing proved very professional and saved me a lot of money.

OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE !!!! $457.75 ( with senior discount ) For: a simple kitchen tap to be replaced and a filter to be replaced in another tap ( which took 5 minutes ) UNFORTUNATELY i didn't check the cost of a tap in a retail outlet first. They charged $221.00 for what looks like the $45.00 tap in Mitre 10. and did not show me the tap or discuss price before installing.The plumber was there for 3/4 of and hour , he could easily have finished in 1/2 an hour if he had not talked so much , He said they have to charge for an hour ( $178.00 )PLUS the call out of $39.00... plus $41.65 GST ......A TOTAL RIP OFF.

For a number of years I have had various plumbers come to fix a reoccurring blocked sewer drain. They have never been able to permanently repair it. This time I called Gary Renouf Plumbing who advertise themselves as blocked drain experts. Well, they got it working and then did what no other plumber has done, they put down a miniature camera inside the pipe and were able to see the exact cause of the problem. I had them dig that bit and replace it. I look forward to no more block ups now. Excellent service

Wonderful turned up on time , however when I rang up to get sewer main unblocked they quoted $39 call out fee , $89 per half hour .no mention of additional costs for drain jetter another $390 when the plumber turns up they have you . just check for all charges before going ahead maybe shop around price seems very high In addition they added GST to prices quoted another 10% Left a sour taste

I think the plumber that came was called Jake (sorry if i'm wrong). Just leaving a review for him and Gary Renouf Plumbing thanking you for the way you went about fixing the drain issue here. I've had plumbers out before to unclog it and they always tell me it needs replacing but a difficult and expensive job due to where it is located. Jake gave me a quote to replace it at literally half the price of the others and stuck to the quote even though it turned out more difficult than thought. Great service and I will always call them from now on

I highly recommend Gary Renouf Plumbing. They were my third quotation and they proved to be more through than the first two. I needed a gas line run to my kitchen so I could finally replace my old electric stove with a gas cook top. The first two companies quoted to run a new line from the gas meter but Gary Renouf Plumbing took the time to investigate a cheaper alternative and found that there was an existing line we could use inside the wall. A great service and highly recommended. I have had an on and off again issue with a drain which would flow down my driveway onto the street. Every other plumber I have got to look at it over the years didn't want to touch it except to just put the snake down to get it to work for a while. This time however Paul from Gary Renouf Plumbing was able to get it running, put the camera down and determine what could be done for a permanent fix. Quoted me a price which I accepted and they got a whole new pipe put in that will not give me a problem again.

I have a big family and was always running out of hot water. I ended up getting Gary Renouf Plumbing to change from electric to gas heating as there was already gas connected to the house. I called Gary Renouf plumbing as I've always had a problem with a blocked drain pipe causing my sewer to clog up. I've called other plumbers in the past and they would usually just give it a plunge with the plumbers friend and try and tell me it will cost many thousands of dollars to fix. Now finally it has had a water blasting machine put down and thoroughly cleaned out. They showed me with the camera what it looked like inside after they finished. Wish I found these plumbers earlier.

Seriously I am amazed with this company. From my first phone call, I knew I was in great hands and the final result proved it. My last plumbers that unblocked my drain said it needed many thousands of dollars worth of work next time. I was a bit worried about this so this time I called a different plumber which turned out to be Gary Renouf Plumbing. They could see the problem with their camera in the drain and dug a small spot in the back yard and fixed it permanently for a much cheaper price than the last lot said it would be. The two plumbers that attended our property in Ryde were very professional, kind and understanding. I had quite a mess after water started gushing from under my laundry basin. The man on the phone talked me through how to turn off the water to my house whilst they came out to fix the problem. They were so helpful and did a very good job as quickly and cost effectively. I have absolutely no doubts in recommending Sam and Gary Renouf Plumbing, following my experience over the past couple of days. Sam and his offsider worked tirelessly to excavate and replace my cracked and broken sewer pipes that have given me nothing but trouble the past few years due to the age of the house. I am glad I found Gary Renouf Plumbing. I had a problem with smelly water creating a bog in my front yard that was leaking down into the street gutter. The first plumber I called tried to fix the problem with the electric snake and didn't really succeed. He thought he got it working and charged me but it kept on being a problem and he wouldn't come back. I then was recommended Gary Renouf Plumbing who sent out Paul and I could tell straight away he knew what he was doing. He used a blasting water jet unit to clean the pipes and then put a camera down the line to show me the state of the pipe. It had chunks falling in on itself so he quoted me a price to replace the offending section and I accepted right away. It was all done in a day. It makes a difference when they know what they are doing. I recommend this company

At 10 o’clock in the morning I realised I had water leaking through my dining room ceiling. I phoned Craig and they were able to send a Plumber over by 11am, who found the leak and replaced the offending pipe by 2:30pm that same day. Excellent service. Jake and Adam did a great job, so thank you boys. Very professional - They came and took care of the my very blocked drain. It took a while as they had to keep pulling out tree roots from my sewer drain, which is probably why it looks such a healthy tree. They walked us through a few things and were very helpful. I have booked a call back later this week to replace our hot water tank with a gas one that won't run out of hot water. We definitely will continue to be using Gary Renouf Plumbing and recommending to others

I just bought an old home and it needed a new drain pipe, the old one was cast iron and corroded away, a new water heater and a new vanity basin in the bathroom. After contacting a number of tradesmen and getting prices from them all, I eventually settled with Gary Renouf Plumbing. I called Gary Renouf Plumbing a couple weeks ago due to no hot water all of the sudden and I saw water leaking out of the exterior of the hot water heater. They came the same day! The guy who came, Sam I think was his name, was Extra friendly and informative. He checked everything out first, with me right over his shoulder. He informed me my hot water heater was about 12 years old. I have only owned the house for 3 years and have no idea when this hot water heater was installed. I opted for full replacement of this old electric heater with a new gas hot water heater. He got a new one that same day and put it in. Yessss, hot water restored. The install was very professional and he stepped me thru the process of lighting it off and ensured I was informed of how to do it if required

We booked a call out and advised a rough estimate and wasn't advised a callout fee. Two plumbers came and didn't even inspect anything, just requoted and doubling the price to $1000 if things didn't work out and stood in the doorway of and wouldn't leave until they receive their call out fee. They called [Redacted] who claimed to have taken the call and advised that it was informed even though he also said that he has many staff in the office taking calls as well. Shocking service, rude plumbers trying to muscle their weight around, WOULD NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY OR PLUMBERS AGAIN!!!

Our hot water system need to be replaced. The guy quoted us $3200. We called the second place to get a second quote (samedayhotwaterservice.com) and they offered the same job, and same heater for $1430. They tried to rip us off by charging more than double than their competition. Also they overcharged on their call out fee. Avoid at all costs.

I am a 70 yr old retiree. I had sewer spilling onto my street through a tree blocked pipe. I phoned this company and a plumber came when arranged the same day and put a pressure hose down my pipe, he didn't use a camera. I was informed that the job needed excavation and the cost was $13,400.00. He informed me that unless I had it fixed immediately I could get fined heavily, also I was putting my neighbors at a risk of contracting Hepatitis. I was asked for a deposit of $2,400. to get the work started the next day, I spent the night going over all this and decided to cancel and get another quote which I did the next day and had the job completed that day for $375.00. The actual company has been very understanding when I asked to cancel the job as well as giving back my deposit. I believe the company to be ethical however I have severe doubts about the actual plumber I received. Hopefully this helps any one else from going through a similar experience.

We contacted Gary Renouf Plumbing due to a broken sewer pipe beneath baby's nursery. They said it was a big job requiring two days' work and quoted us $5200. Expensive but we had a 6-week old baby to consider! They came on time but, instead of two days' work, were finished in 6 hours! After deducting their costs, they'd charged about $800 per hour! Although we paid the money, we sought a reduction due to the over quoting and agreed to a $1000 refund. That was on 13th February - 6 weeks ago. Regular requests for payment have been in vain. Today I went to Fair Trading.

I wouldn’t on’use them again. They ended up coming out twice to fix a simple problem with my toilet that should have been fixed on the first visit. They charged a hefty fee to replace a washer on the first visit that didn’t fix the problem and another hefty fee for the second visit when they finally got it right. Use someone else!

Yes the worker was punctual and obliging however, I find their cost and absolute disgrace. I needed two hose taps replaced and to have a look at the cold tap in the bathroom - which ended up having to be replaced and an eel put through the front storm water pipe going out into the street. They quoted $89 per 1/2 hour and $59 call out fee. I never expected to pay over $1,000. How can tradesmen charge such exorbitant prices is beyond me.

We called these guys out to unblock a drain today. they said $39 for a call out fee then 89 per half hour. I thought expensive but ok, max it shold take is 1 hour. When they came out they said they need to use a jet blaster which they charged $390 for. It was never mentioned when they quoted the hourly rate. Its a quite manipulative way to win work, make it look cheap then slugg you while on the job. Total cost of job was over $600 for 1 hours work. If they were up front with the possible costs then we could have made an informed decision. Sad to see people out there like this.

Requested a quote for a 315L hot water system to be replaced, one of their guys came to our house to inspect. Simple job with no stairs or access issues, so was astounded at the $4180 inc-GST rate quoted! Complained to their office but was told they could not buy the system for $1300 - the price I got another provider to complete the job for. So a dodgy quote and then lied to ... Be careful to get a second quote when dealing with these guys.

They came on the same day that I called them and fixed my leaking taps like new. Very courteous and polite. I can recommend this company

We contacted Gary Renouf plumbing regarding a problem we had with a blocked drain. Not only did they not fix it they told us they would have to excavate the back yard and it would cost approx $10,000. The so called plumber got his equipment stuck in the pipe which he claimed were earthen ware pipes but are in fact PVC and then proceeded to charge us $750 for retrieving it and the so called work he had done!!!!!!!!! We were in such shock about the $10,000 quoted we stupidly paid him. Our friend who is not a plumber managed to fix the problem the following day in approx 1/2 hour with a long piece of timber and a hose. Plumbers they call themselves [redacted due to inflammatory comment]. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

I would NOT recommend these buffoons to my worst enemy!! We had a blocked drain in the kitchen sink and had been plunging it for a few days and slowly getting it to drain, rang these clowns, having got the number from a junk mail fridge magnet. Well the guy was punctual for sure but he just tried to plunge it like we had until he managed to block it completely and then he started trying to find the pipework. It is a unit in a block of units and the pipes are in cavities and he couldn't find a way in after looking in manholes and vents etc and started talking about maybe getting a jet for $380 but he doubted it would work. in the end he couldn't fix the problem and kept coming back to the sink and re plunging it with no success. then he said we needed a schematic of the sewer from the water board, we gave him the building plans with all the sewer and he inspected them but he reckoned they were no good and said to get the plans from the water board and then try again. He charged us 2 hours at $89 per half hour plus $89 service fee (less seniors discount) $465 all up! I rang the water board and paid $23 for the schematic that turned out to be exactly what we had already given him, and they emphatically stated they don't have any private details only where the connection to the main line is and that any plumber should have known that. All in all we paid $490 and we are back to square one, and have wasted a whole morning chasing our tails. Have now rung another plumber, I suggest you do the same!!

I find them very thorough and excellent in explaining the problem. Just not happy that i had a call out that cost $200 with NO work done! $89 Service Call + $89 per half hour labor + $17 GST. We didn't get anything fixed as i cannot afford the prices. If it didn't cost so much or if the prices were capped or reduced after 2 hours of labour ( it is $178 p/hour mind you) i would be happy to use and recommend them. But again, if money isn't an issue for you then i would DEFINITELY use these guys! i love that they explain the problem and happy to explain what they are doing every step of the way. I did use them for a previous job and i was VERY happy.

Contacted Gary Renouf Plumbing in the afternoon to help with a few plumbing problems that i had. Expecting service later in the week and like there advertising says same day service they were out that evening sorted out all my problems very polite and not in a rush to get home but to sort my plumbing problems out. Extremely expensive and the staff were only here for 15mins to 25mins at the most from when they turned the car of to when they left the curb out front of my place but was only in the house for 15mins and it cost me $238.70 they first told me that there is a callout fee of $39 fair enough and then $89 every half hour also fair enough but they were not here for more than 25min i then called their boss to tell them, they then called me back and said they spoke to the staff that done the job and that they were here for about 40mins and by the end of this conversation they said well ill take 89 of the quote for the next job as i had two quotes for two other jobs i need done one the gas pipe was $395 and the hot water and cold pipe to be moved a meter down was going to be $857.20 and the wall is already of also the pipes are there just have to extend it . so i will not be getting them back and will put a complaint in to fair trading

Extremely expensive and just to get one item for replacement, the plumber was away for 45 min, and only 2 hours work and one little replacement cost me $600. I would never use them again.

Plumber was at my place for 20 minutes, didn't bother touching my hot water system, didn't even bring their tools in, said I should contact the manufacturer but still charged me 195$ for what he called labour! bad service! Won't ever be using them again!

The worst plumbing experience I have ever had. They fail to inform you that they don't allow payment by invoice, not when you are booking them and even not when they quote you. Then they tell you to go back into the bathroom and undo all work they've done unless you pay them now. When I informed the plumber that I can only pay by invoice the plumber became rude against myself whilst calling head office. To top it all off the plumber left the old, wet & dirty taps and shower cords on the carpet and refused to pick it up until plumber had finished phone call with head office. Oh and the bathroom was left in a state with water all over the floor and dirt in the bath. When the head office person heard about the old taps and cords on the carpet all they had to say was "oh a little bit of leakage on the carpet wont matter" but hey they were gracious enough to give me 7 days to pay full price! These guys charge $89 per half hour, for that price you expect them to provide a level of service that doesn't include rudeness and to not leave old taps on the carpet.

My outside tap would not turn off, so I had to turn my water off. I called the 1800 number on the Sunday and left a message requesting someone to come have a look at it on the Monday. Monday morning I had to call back and find out it anyone had got my message as no return call. They said someone could come out Tuesday which was not convenient, so I was then told someone would be there in half hour as there was someone already in the area. I was told the call out see was $89 and the labour fee was $89/half hour. I thought this was pretty expensive but needed it fixed so agreed. An hour and a half later, someone came, spent 2 minutes to take the tap off and replace it, and charged an additional $75 for the tap, which probably cost $20. I only used this company because I received a flyer in the letterbox and figured I was supporting a local company. Will NEVER USE AGAIN, and am telling everyone I know!!!!!!

Really an excellent plumber to whom nothing is 12too easy for him to handle or too hard for that matter, big jobs or small he can do them all. No problems ever with this plumber.
