Mover turned up an hour late in a small truck that could not fit what I had ordered. We rang to see if there was a larger truck but was guaranteed no charge on the second load. The removalists were really slow and scratched my floors without care, moved one box at a time so slowly that it took 4 hours. Then on return to original destination, it was too late to pack the rest and move it to the storage unit. I still have a whole 1/4 garage of storgae left at the original premises that I now have to organise another service to remove after charging me $990!!! for unfinished job. 2 x as much what had cost me a year ago (total cost of everything moved @ $390 last time) It's a total sham. Don't move with them/ they are dishonest.

We had Pedro and Gustavo picking our furniture this morning and moving it to the storage facility. They were great, high energy and moved fast. They were careful with my paintings, which was really appreciated. I will book them again when the time comes to move into the new apartment :)

From quote to final pieces put into the new address the team at Metro Movers were fantastic. William, Shammar, Annan and Pedro who ddi the move were efficient, helpful and careful. We went from Hampton East in Melbourne to Kyneton. After 9 years at the previous address we had lots to move and team worked well together and got it in a real good time. Highly recommend!

MetroMovers did a fantastic job of helping my husband and I to move recently from Melbourne to Paynesville. We can't speak highly enough of Jonathon, Adnan and Jeff who put in an incredibly long day first packing our furniture in Northcote and finishing unpacking at 11.30pm (- we had a lot of stuff!) That was followed by a 3 1/2 hour drive back to Melbourne. That's a 19 hour day! Despite the long day, Jonathon, Adnan and Jeff did not complain at all. Quite the opposite - they were jovial and kind and an absolute delight to work with. They even assembled a bed for us and were extremely careful with our furniture. Their teamwork was really impressive. Metromovers is very lucky to have such wonderful people working for them.

Absolutely phenomenal work! From booking to the actual move, MetroMovers were excellent to work with. I booked 2 men and a truck on 15/10, and could not recommend them more. They completely erased my anxiety around the move and I will never move with anyone else. They were quick and efficient in getting the truck packed, and at the drop off location were conscientious and careful with all items. Had some concerns about fitting my fridge up the stairs, but the guys were willing to give it a go - and with a lot of effort on their part they got it up. Then the complication of getting it through the door - wonderful problem solving and care to avoid damage to the door/door frame. Throughout they were positive and energetic despite the physical exertion of many heavy and awkward items needing to be moved up a flight of stairs and along a narrow walkway with a 90° turn into the front door. They also provided us with a few good giggles as they passed lighter, non-breakable items up to the external walkway with an easy toss from the back of the truck. The guys were highly professional while remaining approachable and friendly. Very much hoping that higher ups in the company are able to find the men who did this work (I am terrible with names!) and recognise these guys for their work!

MetroMovers were a nightmare to deal with. To begin, they showed up over an hour late which was an issue as we settled our property the day of the move. The movers damaged our garden shed, and have since avoided my many emails and calls. Their customer service is appalling, i have tired to resolve this but gotten nowhere so have left this review. Avoid at all cost! I actually gave them no stars but the website wouldn’t accept my review without at least a 1 star review.

Unfortunately during a recent move a number of items were damaged. Mostly superficial scratches, but an item was dropped as the team seemed to hurry through the drop off. I've had no luck since engaging management regarding their "No Damage Guarantee" or any compensation for the damage.

One of the guys worked really hard. The other was on his phone a lot & was clearly not doing much by the end of the day. To be fair, the company should have recommended 3 guys because our new home is 4 storeys & it was tiring work. The did a perfectly ok job but not to the standard suggested by these auto reviews which I’ve realised are largely auto-generated. It took quite a bit of mucking around to manually change my reviews from auto 5 stars to 3 stars. Not sure how that fits with Aus consumer law!!!! Seems a tad misleading.....

Atrocious service. really pushy for payment despite an ongoing dispute about a missing item (that would cost more than the move to replace) and were generally extremely shoddy. threw around our items (marked FRAGILE) and dropped them in front of me. one of them even tried to use two wheelie bins as a ladder and fell off them. they also overcharged us and didn't provide any in writing jobsheet. even if the dispute about overcharging us (by $80 or so) and our lost item is resolved, I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy - stay far away.

This group are absolutely terrible. They hire inexperienced international backpackers (mine were young german boys) who struggle to decide how to lift anything hence taking forever to move anything safely. When I rang [Redacted identifying comment] to complain (during the moving process) she just wanted to know if I could afford the extended move timeline (due to the slowness and inefficiency) and when I said this wasn't about money but about the nightmare customer experience, she said she wouldn't let the boys complete the move that day until my 'first' bill was paid and then would 'let' them come back the next day to finish moving things. Seriously. She stopped the move to make sure I paid the bill (and made sure the boys hung on to my children's furniture in the truck until I paid $1688 using my credit card), and I never had them back as they had broken my dining table glass top (sorry, sorry, we are sorry), and also damaged my handmade timber bed (discovered when we tried to reassemble it). I"m still uncovering damaged goods today. Seriously, DO NOT let these people near your home or precious goods. [Redacted identifying comment] is a nightmare and has no interest in resolving your issues when she has your people on site. She doesn't even pretend to care. When I reported the poor performance she complained I refused to accept an extra truck and 2 more movers to my moving house. Seriously? Pay twice to pack up a single fronted, semi detached home due to her staff issues? The boys were so relaxed I even had a 'visitor' at the new home site delivering pizza and coke for them at 5pm. They didn't even ask me if this was ok given we still had half a truck to SLOWLY unload. DON'T USE THIS GROUP EVER.

My sister read these reviews and decided to employ this firm to move her house. I was there to assist her. They charge by the hour. They arrived at 10 am and all they did was stand around and waste time. She was told it would take 2 hours to load up the truck, well it took them 4 hours. They deliberately wasted time and I went out a number of time to find out what was holding them up and I found the movers just standing in the truck or around the truck constantly on the mobile phone. When they finally filled the truck and got to the other side, again they deliberately wasted time. It took more than 8 hours for them to move one load to a property which was 3 kms away. In addition, they refused to release two items of my sisters furniture until she paid there and then. They are shoddy, unprofessional and I would run a hundred miles rather than use this firm. When we now look at the reviews and reviewers we note that most have only given one review and their user name is based on first name, surname initial and a number. There is clearly something not right and womo should investigate. Do not use these movers they are truly appalling.

Long Day! Staff were courteous and arrived early, they worked hard to move our items carefully unfortunately some furniture was damaged. The final cost to move was to high around $1800. Metro only sent two men whilst others were quoting three. They did not use matares protectors nor did they bring portable cupboards as promised. I probably won't use them again.

We are very unhappy with the handling of issues occurred during our move. Though not being the cheapest we choose MetroMovers because of the good reputation. However a day after the move we spotted that our TV was scratched during the move. We called MetroMovers and provided all details as well as pictures. Multiple follow up-calls in the next months with their person in charge of damages resulted in empty promises and no feedback. For this we can’t recommend MetroMovers

These guys are fantastic. They moved us from the Inner West to the Northern Beaches without a hitch. The best experience I have ever had with a removal team. The guys arrived bang on time and worked so hard in packing the truck. They were extremely careful with all of our furniture and boxes, wrapping more sensitive items in cloth and even dismantling items such as outdoor furniture for better packing. These guys are great and since our move on recommendation, 2 friends have use them to move houses and on both occasions gave a 5 star rating to the service. Cannot fault them! I found the service to be extremely professional, the removalists well presented and polite as well as being punctual. The price was comparable to other firms of this size and I would not hesitate to either use the services of Metromovers again or recommend them in the future. It was a stress free move and all of the items were transported without any breakages, scratches or any cause for complaint. Not good. Two guys were sent out to move our things from a one bedroom unit to a house 25 minutes away. One guy was polite, the other rude and abrasive. They both took very little care while moving. At the block of units, they broke a light shade in the hallway and spent 30 minutes gluing it back together. Then at our new house they made a large, deep scratch in our polished floorboards. However, they mostly covered this up with our heavy TV stand and, in the hustle of the move, we did not notice this until after they were gone. So they were not honest about damage they had done and covered it up! The only good things I can say were that they arrived on time and they did not ask us to help them lift heavy things. They get a point for each of those things.

Chris and Johnno moved the family from our 2 bedroom unit (on the 3rd floor - no lift) to a unit in the block next door that was on the ground floor. Guys were quick and efficient and did the move in less then 5 hours. We had moved most of the boxes ourselves, but the guys were great moving the heavy furniture. Make sure you negotiate your price correctly with Head office. We got quoted a fixed price, but would have been better off with the hourly rate.

After reading WOMO reviews, I hired Metro Movers to shift our household from Glen Waverley to Mount Eliza in April 2014. I received a promotional discount on the job as a WOMO referred client, but the icing on the cake was the great job the two guys did for us. In pouring rain they loaded two trucks worth of furniture, boxes and potplants, quickly and carefully. The unloading was just as efficient. From Chris who quoted, Ross who packed and Ken and Ryan who actually moved us on the day, all was done in a very professional and friendly manner and nothing too much trouble. Ken and Ryan in particular were just terrific and had a very long day moving us from a home of six levels on a sloping block to our new apartment. They worked a nine hour day and still asked if they could do anything else before they left. Even when I rang to have the boxes collected Ross was here in a couple of hours. We had our 4 bedroom house moved across suburbs. I had to change arrangements at 3pm the day before as I did not have access to the property we were moving in to until late in the afternoon. The guys kindly shifted the move back 2 hours at short notice, and offered to have a 1 hour lunch break at no cost to us, all to minimise our costs. They were friendly and professional throughout, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I had settlements on both of my properties on the same day. I had expected a nightmare of a day. NOT SO! the Metromovers people did an amazing job. They were very careful with my furniture but managed to do my whole move very quickly and worked within both of the settlements times. I really appreciated the free portable wardrobes for my dresses and work suits and the fact that there were absolutely no hidden costs (something I had experienced with a previous removals bunch) The Metromovers movers were very polite to me and they showed a lot of respect for my home. I was yet again a very happy customer.

We hired MetroMovers to do our pre pack (day prior) and our move. One of the packers did a really outstanding job, packing things in very tightly with butchers paper - but the second was hopeless - really just dumped everything in boxes roughly, with minimal padding. All our hats and my collection of designer leather handbags were all crammed together in a box without protection. The bags/hats are all horribly bent out of shape and there's a deep, 2 inch scratch on one of the bags. There was also a hammer packed in loose with a collection of fine china teacups. The movers were quiet fast and efficient also. However, they did not bring any couch covers, mattress covers, portable wardrobes or plasma tv covers as had been requested and confirmed. They still managed pretty well despite this, but as we have a white couch, we eneded up with a number of scuff marks that should have been avoided, and some damaged picture frames (as not enough boxes had been brought for them). TV was fine at least, but it's frustratin as we went with MM because of the higher level of service they offer, and all these things should have been easily avoided. Plus a level of service that we paid for, but did not recieve. We did report the issues, however it's been two weeks and we haven't heard anything back. While I think the first packer was excellent, unfortunately the company did not deliver overall, and so I can't recommend them. Disappointing, after having heard so many good things from others.

We re-engaged Metromovers to finish off the move that we started about 18 months ago. To our delight, the same two removalists in Jinder and Matt arrived on our door stop 18 months later. I was really concerned about the mud and wet weather so I asked Head Office in advance if the removalists could bring a change of shoes so that mud was not walked through the house. Jinder and Matt brought their change of shoes and changed them everytime that they went from filling the truck to emptying the truck - they are a pair of legends. They too extrame care as not make any walls and even helped unpack and set up our washing machine and dryer that the Good Guys delivered on the day. I could not recommend Jinder, Matt ans Metromovers highly enough.

MetroMovers moved us from a house to a city apartment with awkward access and the whole thing went 100% smoothly. I needn't have had any concerns. From the helpful, friendly and efficient young lady (Kristin) who took my call and organised everything, to Chris in operations, and then the fabulous removalist team (Chris, Steve, Blake and Ken), the whole thing went off without a hitch. No dramas - they handled it all smoothly and calmly. Everyone at Metro movers is so polite and helpful and efficient. Can't recommend these guys highly enough.

We had a disaster day. Our original movers turned up an hour late and the truck broke down and they couldn't fix it. We rung MetroMovers and they were there in one hour. They were totally professional, gave us loads of advice and options about how to get the job done quicker and more economically and they worked really hard, on a really hot day to move us as fast as possible because of the initial delay with the other movers. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough they were brilliant. they saved us.

Kind Regards, Customer Service" My email to them after the move: "Hi Everything went well with the move yesterday and Rich, Josh and Dane were all very careful which we appreciated but I was shocked with the final bill ($867) considering the amount of furniture that was required to be moved and the distance between dwellings (less than 1km). So I wanted to give you some feedback: 1) one of the reasons I used Metro was because you had a depot at Port Melbourne. It is literally only 5 minutes away from the two properties I was moving between in South Melbourne so I thought I was reducing my depot-to-depot cost by using you. No one explained to me that travel time is charged in 15 minute increments with a minimum 15 minute block both ways. I was happy to pay one block but two?!? That's $100 for travelling from Port Melbourne to South Melbourne and back. 2) it was never explained to me that a 'hoist' is not a physical piece of equipment but rather an external lift. It also says below that a hoist is a once off surcharge. I was made aware by Josh after two tables had been hoisted over the balcony that each one cost $66. I was only charged for one but more on that below. 3) between leaving my old house and getting to the new place, Josh bought himself a coffee from a cafe immediately beneath my apartment. When I'm paying by the quarter hour, I would've thought he'd have bought himself that AFTER moving me in. In addition to this waste of time, the boys took a wrong turn when all they had to do was make a right turn at the first intersection to get to my new house. They explained it later as 'the GPS told us to go another way' which I find really hard to believe. It must have taken them 15 minutes to get to my new property - another $50. When I brought up the coffee and this wrong turn later, Josh said "we've only charged you for one hoist when we should've charged you for two". Isn't the hoist a once off surcharge? As I said, in terms of physically moving us, they did a great job - Dane is as strong as an ox! - but for the reasons I've mentioned above, the overall cost of the move has really left a bad taste in my mouth. I originally got the recommendation to use Metro from a website called WOMO.com.au. Pending your response I will be providing a review of my experience yesterday to the same website. Thanks BenM" Their response: "Dear Ben, Thank you for your email and for your feedback as to some concerns that you have experienced during your relocation with Metromovers. Regarding the term â€œhoistâ€, this is a verb for the method used by which we lift or hoist items over the balcony by means of straps and hoisting/lifting techniques. When used as a noun, a hoist or lift apparatus refers to mechanical devices such as forklifts or Scissor lifts or rough terrain scissor lift or cherry pickers, to name but a few. These apparatus are not standard residential relocations equipment but can be arranged for use at an additional cost with the most suitable apparatus to be determined depending on the height of the balcony as well as the access and location of the place for the apparatus to be set down. . Your relocation was booked as a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 flights of stairs to a double story townhouse with balcony hoists/lifts to the 2nd floor balcony. The total duration of the move, including travel to and from Port Melbourne depot point was 4 hours. This is a highly efficient duration for the scope of your move. As you have mentioned, you were very happy with the care showed by the team members. Regarding the fact that Josh took some minutes to buy himself a cup of coffee and that the time in between locations was extended somewhat due to a wrong turn, I am very happy to offer you a refund for this lost time, detailed as follows: Josh as 3rd man at $50 p/h less 10 minutes = $9 Wrong turn extending the drive time between suburbs from 5 minutes to 15 minutes at 10 minutes lost time x $199 = $34 Total refund due= $43. As a measure of goodwill, Metromovers is offering a further 15 minute refund of $50. Please provide your bank account details such as our compensation offer of $93 can be directly transferred to your account. Regards" My next email to them: Hi Thanks for getting back to me. My relocation may have been booked as a 2 bedroom apartment but my partner and I had already transported over all of the small items ourselves. The only furniture left in the apartment was the large items too bulky to put in my car. In addition, I assisted with both the loading and unloading of the truck and the new residence was only 1 kilometre away from the old one. So I'm not surprised you think 4 hours was highly efficient - this wasn't a 'normal' move. Given these factors, I still think $774 is a lot of money to pay but I appreciate your offer and accept it. My bank details are: Can I recommend being a little more clear regarding your terms whenever dealing with future customers. Explain what type of hoist you're offering (noun or verb), why a hoist requires 3 men, why there is a $66 surcharge for it (I'm still unclear on why I paid extra for a hoist (verb) when I was already paying $200 an hour), and explain that travel to and from a depot is charged at a minimum of $50 each way. Kind regards Ben" Their final response: "Hi Ben, Thank you for your acceptance of our offer. Please be assured that this amount will be transferred to your account by Friday. Your feedback is appreciated and has been acknowledged as useful in reiterating certain aspects of the quoting process so as to avoid any confusion. Regarding the need for 3 men for a hoist; this is due to OH & S requirements as stipulated by requirements in our industry. The surcharge is for the associated risk element that accompanies this activity. On behalf of Metromovers, I wish you the very best of happiness in your new home. Kind regards" The $93 refund was in my account the following Monday. All in all I think they did provide a quality service (although there was some damage to the table that they hoisted over the balcony) but boy did I pay for it. I'd use them again but would certainly recommend getting a fixed quote up front. Hope this has been useful.

They were on time, with two quiet and quick workers (no idle chatter). I moved only a suburb away in Sydney, and it took 5 hours from start to finish to pack up two bedroom home and move it (lifts at both ends). It was a greater overall cost than other companies, but they didn't break anything and they worked well, so i'm happy.

I have used Metro Movers on three occasions now as well as recommended them to any of my friends in need of a removalist. Having moved a few times in Canberra and then Melbourne I was immediately impressed with the professional approach of the staff, even the simple fact that they were all in smart uniforms and not looking like they had just got out of jail. The initial quoting process was smooth and the trucks arrived on time. The staff were all very polite and well mannered and being very fit I thought they moved my furniture more quickly than other companies had done in the past.

Metro Movers moved us from Greensborough to Frankston on 11/7/13. I could not fault the pre-move information and sales experience, very friendly and knowledgeable staff that replied to queries very quickly. Tom and Dane completed the actual move for us, they arrived on time and worked hard to get our gear into the truck in a timely manner. They were waiting for us at the new property and un-loaded again in a timely manner. My wife and I felt Tom and Dane took care with all our goods and wrapped our couches and mattresses to protect while in transit. I would not hesitate to recommend them and would certainly use them again in the future if the need arose. A great job all round, very satisfied.

Turned up on time, well organised, one of the easiest move I've had. Special thanks to Richard W, top job. Although the price per hour is not the cheapest, but overall price is excellent as the guys worked fast and efficiently.

From the first phone call to MetroMovers I felt there was a tightly run, organised and customer focused team at work..I wasnt met by an answering service asking me to wait (like 2 other National Removal Firms I rang). I was greeted by someone who remembered my name and details every other time I rang. Moving house is very stressful, especially when you throw a 4 year old boy in the mix, so I couldn't have been more impressed and grateful for the calm and courteous approach of our 2 young removalists, Tom and Dane. Nothing phased them. They demonstrated respect for us and our property and even accommodated an inquisitive and 'helpful' 4 year old as they loaded the truck. It was a stinking hot 37C day and not once did any of the boys complain as they all sweated it out moving us. We required 2 large trucks and many man who were brilliant. MetroMovers moved our possessions out of our home and into storage. The truck arrived on time on the nominated day, and Matt O & Kyle R did a fabulous job. All removed and packed in less than 4 hours, they were really well trained: efficient, courteous and very helpful. In a couple of weeks time, MM will move our goods out of storage and into our new home, and we hope Matt & Kyle will be the team to do that. This company is seriously good and deserves support and success.

On the day the guys works fast and efficiently, even connecting my washing machine for me without being asked. There were no breakages or damage and the guys completed the job in less time than originally estimated and thus below estimated cost. I will use them again for my next move.

Nothing was any problem, they were very obliging and would attend to any request that I had asked without hestitating.These three young men are great guys, who are also great workers and completed our move without any damage to any goods as they were packed very professionally. We had two trucks full of furniture. The move was made in record time without rushing anything. I would not hesitate in recommending MetroMovers for any removalist job. For such a professional and value for money, they are easily the best removalists I have ever employed for a move. I am very pedantic about looking after my furniture and belongings, so I am not easily pleased.

Absolutely brilliant job. From the time I made my initial enquiry, had my boxes dropped off, all my questions answered and the follow-up, I was very impressed by the service that I received from the company as a whole. My house in Narre Warren Sth was all packed up and moved to Boronia in approximately 4.5 hours. The boys did a great job and nothing was too much trouble. I moved apartments recently. I requested for 2 packers for minimum 4 hours pre move. The guys that turned up were punctual, well presented and acted professionally on site. They were very respectful of my belongings and thorough and very efficient in their activities. They offered advice on some of the expectations I had for packing that saved me time and additional work post move. For the actual move, the 2 guys that arrived, again on time were similarly respectful and professional. They worked as a team, were brilliant with my quite large couch and getting it through the doorways. It was a rainy day but you wouldn't have known it from the state of my belongings; boxes intact and dry. Metro Movers will be my first call for any future moves and I will gladly recommend them to friends and family.

I moved interstate from Melbourne to Sydney with Metromovers. I had heard so many horror stories from friends of all their wordly possessions going missing on the journey from state to state. I had used Metro for a previous move within Melbourne and everything went well on that occasion to I decided to use them again for my move to Sydney. It was a good decision. Metromovers arrived on the day with a truck with Metromovers signs all over it which made me feel very secure. The staff were all in uniform and were professional from start to finish. Exactly the same thing happened at my new home in Sydney and all my things were unwrapped and put put in position in my new home which was on a very hilly driveway with a lot of stairs. Not a single murmur from the men and about the stairs. They all had smiles on their faces for the whole day. It was a very easy experience and I am a very happy customer once again!

My move was from Bondi Beach to Milsons Point from a large home filled with plenty of furniture and my pride and joy piano. I have a very busy schedule and so I ordered the full service with Metromovers; pack moving and unpacking. They completed all this over 2 days with the most amazing display of efficiency, precision and good nature. The entire experience from my first call to the office to the last unpacked box was that I was dealing with a company that operates as a well oiled team! - and with a very in depth understanding of the importance of customer service. The team leader Ross was particularly impressive. I would highly recommend this company. Their rates are a little higher than other quotes that I received but the superb experience was well worth it.

I would like to say how happy I have been with the service provided by metromovers. From the visit by Mairead to my home and office in Bentleigh East to provide a quote for the packing service and relocation service, to the completion of the relocation of my goods to Ballarat, I have found all the personnel to be professional, friendly and efficient. They appear to have had a really good training program, or maybe you have a knack for employing talented staff. The 3 packers were delightful and fun, as they diligently packed for hours. They took great care, checked with me when necessary, and got the job done in a very tidy and timely manner. The next day four men arrived (one had been packing the day before) to pack the goods into the truck and van and drive to Ballarat to unload there. They worked so hard, and the whole day went without a problem. Special thanks to the Team Leader who was there on both days. I am so grateful that the traumatic experience of relocating my home and office went so smoothly due to your fantastic organisation and wonderful staff.

What has really impressed me most of all though is that each team that has moved me and my parents seemed to use exactly the same techniques. Everything was consistent. MetroMovers recently came to assist us with our move from our warehouse style home to our new home. The tricky bit in the middle was that we were not going to be able to move into our new home for 6 weeks due to settlement. I was totally frantic about what I was going to do with my belongings in between the two settlement dates. There were quite a few companies that I called looking for information. They just didn't seem helpful. Then I called MetroMovers, and to tell you the truth, I must have kept that young lady on the phone for almost an hour. There were so many questions that I had and finally I had found someone who would listen to my queries. She went on to tell me all about how their storage worked and explained the many different safety levels that are in place to keep my goods safe while in storage. On completion of my call I had not a doubt in my mind that I was going to be in safe hands with MetroMovers for my move. As promised, I received my confirmation call day prior to my goods being collected. I was Very surprised to see the boys when they arrive. They were all smartly dresses in matching uniforms and were so pleasant to talk to. Straight away they began loading my items and they were done and on their way back to the storage in no time. Once they finished loading my items into the storage, I was called with the final invoice for payment and they told me to just give a call when I knew the exact day that my items would be required to be redelivered to my new home. They say that moving home is one of the most traumatic experiences in your life... If only I knew about the MetroMovers service a few years ago... We were moving a two-bedroom apartment from the CBD. It is a big job because access in the city is always difficult and the guys had to walk a long way to load the truck. However, since the removalists promoted their experience and were given the location of the move well in advance, I would have expected them to be more prepared and privy of the challenges. Loading the truck took 5 hours. We did not continuously monitor the move but believe it was a legitimate amount of time given the access challenges. One of the removalists continuously commented on how long the job was going to take and how the office told them it was just going to be a small job. However, they're paid by the hour and I detailed the scope of the move beforehand so I thought they could have just gotten on with it. They tried to get a third man to help out and understandably no one was available until late in the afternoon to help unload. I thought by that stage it was unnessary to have a third person but were not told when one would show up, so was not aware they still requested him even though the move was almost complete. He dropped one of the boxes and damaged some speakers, which despite paying for a high level of insurance was not covered. There was also damage to some other pieces of furniture. Would recommend that people take out contents insurance instead of using Metromovers' insurance as even the highest level of coverage is very, very lmited. Communications leading up to the move was quite good but they were very slow in following up my queries on insurance and damages from the move. All in all a very expensive exercise >$1300

I chose Metromovers based on Online reviews. The 1300 support staff were helpful, polite, professional and prompt in responding to my needs. Most correspondence and agreements were done over emails. I even got a reminder call the day before the move. The moving team lead by Nav did a fantastic job. Nav was the one point of contact throughout the 8 hour move. The team turned up on time and finished by 6pm. We had 6 men and 2 large trucks, plus a van. We had 120 boxes plus furniture. I would highly recommend this company. Well done!

The guys hung around patiently until we could commence packing the unit. As we were short of time they supplied an extra guy for only an additional $50 an hour. Moved a home business and 2 bedroom unit to a duplex. Very flexible, efficient and friendly guys. They worked with our settlement which was tight! Their rate is competitive $130 & we paid an extra $50 an hour for an extra man plus $20 an hour more for an extra truck. Phone staff were lovely- very organised & kept me informed up to the moVe date. On the day, all three men were friendly and professional. They certainly weren't your stereotypical removalists! Would thoroughly recommend Metroremovals to anyone.

We were moving house. Had no idea where to look as we had a very bad experience when we last moved. We trawled through the internet. Managed to vet most movers by talking on the phone. Metro came over very quickly to quote. They quoted lower than two others that wanted the business enough to come around. Metro's quote was just less than one and half the quote of the other! Above this we choose them because they seemed genuine in their willingness to help.They started by dropping boxes/ packing material off way before we moved/ confirmed the booking. And they continued to check in with us as the move day approached. On the move day they pitched up 20 mins early and got straight to work. Three guys swooped in and took everything out very speedily and carefully. They were very well mannered and polite and they looked like they had done this a thousand times. They helped with every aspect of the move. They did the whole job in 5 hours which was less than quoted. Nothing broken. When they left we were pretty amazed how well they did the job and how much better they were than the last idiots we used. We moved house with about as little fuss as you could possibly imagine. MetroMovers were my first call when I had to move from my apartment in Melbourne to my new apartment in Docklands. I was a little bit worried to have to go through the traumatic time again. I had moved 12 months before and that was the worst experience of my life. The day that I called to the office, my nerves were put to ease. The office staff were thorough and patient and listened to all of the logistical requirements of my move. It is never easy to arrange a move around 2 lift bookings with time constraints, but they seemed to do it without any hesitations. My removal team arrived on time on the day of my move, they were extremely well presented. The truck was HUGE (much bigger than my last move) and had everything required for an organised and well planned move. The 3 men were polite and careful with my items and after a very quick 6 hours I was in my new home. All without anything going wrong. I will definitely be recommending MetroMovers to everyone that I know for their moves. I had a very big move of a 4 bedroom + Study + outside entertaining home that i needed relocated from Tullamarine to Port Melbourne. I was a little worried as i have never done this size move before. When i contacted the office to inquire i was amazed at how much knowledge the office staff had and i felt at ease straight away! Once i booked in the move i could contact the office at any stage and everyone was so willing to help me with my questions. i receive a courtesy confirmation call the day before my move which i had never received from other companies before. The team arrived with 1 minute to spare and they were well dressed and very polite. They handled my furniture with extra care and it was outstanding to see that they wrapped up all of my furniture items with blankets. When we arrived at my new home the team even put my bed back together which was great as we didn't have to worry about doing it ourselves after a busy long day! MetroMovers moved my family locally. We wanted to help with the process but as we were going from a single story to a double story house, we really just wanted the use of their truck and the extra muscle to help with the big furniture. These guys were awesome. 2 young fit guys with brains were so fast we were running to keep up with them. They were happy for us to help with all the work in turn cutting back on the per hour cost and the overall job totalled alot less than I expected because they were so efficient. Their equipment and trucks were high quality and they provided free plasma boxes, portarobes and mattress protectors on the day. From the back end the booking and confirmation process was fast and easy and all staff we spoke with were very friendly and customer service focussed. I would highly recommend MetroMovers

We had some really heavy furniture so a 3rd man was on the job but he was sent home after 30 minutes as they did not require him. Jinder and Matt were polite, effcient and professional and clearly knew what they were doing. They had our home in Hawthorn packed up and relocated to a large shed just out of Ballarat in 8.25 hours. Absolutely fantastic. Update 6-2: Just recently the Cusomer Service Manager from this business contacted me to follow up on my moving experience. Based on our discussion, the company apologised and refunded a significant portion of the fee I initially paid. Clearly this company takes its cutomer service very seriously and do the utmost to ensure customers are satisfied. The follow up and subsequent action makes me think the experience I had is the exception rather than the rule. I booked MetroMovers to move move all of our packed belongings and furniture from our 2 bedroom apartment in South Yarra to our new apartment, also in South Yarra. Our new place Body Corporate rules require moving in slots to be booked, and so we had booked the 9:00am-12:30pm slot. Due to this constraint I had booked the removalists to arrive at our old place between 6:30am and 7:00am; they arrived over an hour late; just before 8am. They were incredibly slow, my partner and I ended up helping a lot and it took over 5 hours to load all of our belongings into their truck. This resulted in us missing our booking at the new place. The body corporate at the new place gave us some leeway as long as we were finished by 3pm. I rang MetroMovers and explained the situation and they sent out another crew (which they tried to get us to pay for) and they unloaded the truck in just over an hour. We have moved the same amount of belongings 3 times in the last 4 years and it has preiviously taken no more than 4 hours in total. As the moving fees are charged on an hourly basis it was also hideously expensive - over $1200 when in the past it's been no more than $400. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

Well presented staff, impressive trucks, all the right equipment for moving my piano and a well executed plan of moving my very long couch over the balcony. I am sure I wont be moving again for a very long time but I would happily recommend Metromovers to anyone wanting a good move experience.

Chris and the guys from Metromovers were absolutely fantastic. They handled all of our property with care and efficiency. They were extremely polite and helpful and we were very grateful to have such experienced and considerate guys to assist with our move. My husband and I were stressed as we were doing a simultaneous settlement and were very happy that at least we didn't have to worry about the move. The guys were careful as they moved the furniture out of our apartment and again as they moved the furniture into our new house which had been newly painted with a new wood floor.

Here's some feedback on our move experience with Metro Movers. It's was the first time we have ever used a removalist, so the anxiety levels were running quite high. Firstly we looked up removalists in the local area. We had contacted several on our shortlist and most of them were over-quoting and not taking the time to listen to what our needs were. Thankfully in our case a friend had recently used Metro Movers and recommended them. From the first call our minds were put at ease. We spoke to Jo, who was very polite and extremely helpful, even referring us to the â€œAFRAâ€ (Australian Furniture Removers Association) when considering reputable removalist companies. After taking her advice and contacting several others we came back to Metro Movers. From then on all was taken care off. We booked our spot and any questions we had were dealt with professionally and quickly. This was highlighted by a call the day before the move as a courtesy to confirm all was in order for the day of the move. When the two big guys showed up, they were friendly and also professional. They were unbelievably quick and efficient whilst having a few laughs along the way. I involved myself by helping out where I could and they didn't mind. Their service and effort on the day certainly provided a low stress environment. In summary the move went extremely smooth and thanks to everyone involved. And like many of the other comments made by previous customers, it ended up taking less time than we had first anticipated and certainly was a lot less stress than we had dreaded. I would recommend Metro Movers to all.

I had Lisa doing my packing one day before my move, and she was absolutely fantastic. She took great care with all my collectibles, especially porcelain, and she kept up a cracking pace, arriving at 9 am and finishing around 6 pm. Another packer joined her at around 3 pm, and he packed all of my books (more than 1000). On the day of the move two large trucks and two teams of men arrived at 7 am, and they were so helpful, courteous, and careful with my antiques and other furniture. Everything arrived at my new home in the same condition in which it left my old one, and the guys placed everything exactly where I wanted it. I would recommend Metro to anyone wanting the very best in service, courtesy and work ethics.

Moved 3 bedroom house from St Kilda to Diamond Creek. The guys were on-time, cheerful and professional. They worked quickly and carefully and even though my kids were being reaalllly annoying, they were so patient with them. They really made our huge move easy and way less stressful than anticipated. The office staff were also really helpful. The only annoying thing was organising the insurance. They wanted you to print and fax a form back to them, very difficult when everything is in boxes! you couldn't fill the form in to email back as it was a pdf. They certainly helped me to do it another way, which was great, but that felt a bit late 90's!

We had a fantastic experience with metro movers. They were efficient and careful with all of our stuff. They were very professional and were all dressed in a smart casual uniform. It was the most relaxing move we have ever had. We just sat back and watched as they did all the hard work. We never felt we had to worry about our things being damaged. They are a bit on the pricey side but I think you get what you pay for. Also they did not stuff around and waste time so the price probably would have been about the same as a cheaper less efficient company in the end. We will definitely use metro movers again next time we move.

I recently had a nightmare of a shop that was inherited, to clean up and move out of. The two guys that came and helped me helped me move 30 years worth of stock - it was done in record time, with no fuss, they were helpful and friendly and generally made the whole experience as painless as possible. Small office move. 5 PCs and about 14 boxes in total and a big screen TV using their one guy and a van option. The guy they sent us was fast and efficient and did an excellent job making sure the items were moved quickly and without damage and was very pleasant (as opposed to the stereo typical grumpy mover guys)

We moved from a 2 bedroom unit to another one. It was a straightforward move, no stairs, no extra special items (like a piano). The guys that moved us were nice enough but chatted way too much and ended up being alot slower than expected. A proposed four hour move ended up more like 6 hours and this cost heaps more than we'd budgeted for. Most of our stuff was moved carefully however a few items (like shelves, drawers) got knocked & chipped which was disappointing. The admin staff were professional & helpful but unfortunately you never know the movers that will turn up on the day - they were transports from OS and don't think they cared enough about what they were doing. Overall I was disappointed.

After living in the house for 25 years and accumulating too much we needed three separate shifts over three days to separate suburbs, the shifts included General household furniture, very heavy antiques, pinball machine and slate billiard table. Some items had to be taken from an upper level through double doors, these could not be taken down by stairs so a forklift had to be used. All the men who worked over the three days were so professional, efficient and most of all very nice and, with a great sense of humor which makes a very stressful situation much easier. I would recommend Metro Movers without hestitation.

The guys (Dan and Andy) were fantastic - dressed in clean and professional uniforms, with a quality truck that was clean. They were good humoured all day and helped us out on anything we were struggling with from dismantling furniture to helping us reverse the fridge door. Highly recommended! Thank you Metro Movers guys & girls for making my move stress free. I recently moved house after 15 yrs and had accumulated a fair bit of stuff. I was a little apprehensive as I lived on a very busy main road and was concerned about traffic and clearway times etc; Metro Movers used two trucks to help speed the move and also happily moved a sandpit full of sand. I was worried about booking my move by the hour as I had had a previous experience with another company a few years ago where they took all day and had to do 3 trips in a small truck. Metromovers guarantee that if you are not happy with the pace at which the removals staff are working then you can get money back for time wasted. Of course, they were so quick and so careful that everything was moved by lunchtime and the unpackers finished unpacking all my boxes by 6pm. We sat down to a family dinner in our new home the same day as our move!!. the truck was so big that everything fitted in one load with room to spare. I dont plan to move again for a long time but will definitely use Metromovers if I do.

really good value for money. Metromovers moved my home in almost half the time of another useless crowd that were a little cheaper. So my move actually cost a lot less and all my furniture was wrapped so carefully that nothing was broken. I really liked the removalists as well. They were softly spoken but so strong and careful. On 20 December 2010, I moved into a Lifestyle Centre for Over 55's. Metro Movers are the contracted firm to shift new residents into the Village. The damage they did to my new home (door frame) and to my goods was UNBELIEVABLE. They are just appaling. DO NOT USE THEM. They dropped my furniture; they carried my two (2) bedside tables on top of each other; they scratched the leather of my brand new leather 2.5 seater; they slashed the leather on my massage table; they broke my nearly brand new DVD Recorder. DON'T USE THEM. BE WARNED. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS WITHIN THE VILLAGE ABOUT THE ROUGHNESS OF THEIR MOVE TECHNIQUES AND LACK OF CONSIDERATION.

I really wanted removalists who would be professional, offer great service and be easy to deal with. I found all this and lots more with MetroMovers. From the first contact they were fantastic and I felt confident I'd made the right choice. Nothing was too much trouble - from booking, through to them dropping off packing materials and - of course - the move itself. The move was fantastic - the guys phoned as promised, arrived on time and nothing was too much trouble for them - especially the manoeuvering of the truck .... the amazing piece of reversing I've seen! They were so careful with everything .... even up four flights of stairs! Within 5 hours I was moved and everything went PERFECTLY. We did a move from a house to a high-rise building. The guys were very professional despite the fact that they had to push the furniture up few ramps. They took very good care of all items and no significant damages to any items. The best thing was the speed of their work - the move took around 4 hours only and therefore came at a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and I'd definitely use MetroMovers next time I need such services.

Moved a 3 bed high rise into a new place in the suburbs in heavy rain. Guys maintained a remarkably polite and humour filled demeanor throughout the ill-weathered event. Results were: not one item damaged or broken (including walls in the tight high rise corridors), moved out of the building faster than the last company that moved me in, made a stressful day a lot less stressful by their constant chirpiness and good humour. 2 guys came into our Docklands appartment and wrapped all the furniture ard moved it all into their storage, they moved some of our goods to another address on the same day. Nothing was too much trouble, they even took the cat's scratching post to dad's with our stuff. When we moved into our new home in Bacchus marsh again we had 2 really great guys to do the moving. They collected our stuff from dad's and brought all our stored stuff to our new home. Again nothing was too much trouble,even if I wanted furniture moved 5 or 6 times before I was satisfied with where it was. They even helped the very unhelpful delivery driver who delivered our new fridge and moved the fridge around the kitchen for me.All the staff where very proffessional and made our move stress free.Not one thing was damaged during the move or storage. All the removal guys where really friendly and made the days fun not stressful.

I had what should have been a small moving job this week, but when the furniture arrived I needed to ask the two guys to move something else out of the way...and upstairs! Not easy and not planned. They approached the challenge with good humour and intelligence and managed to get the piece upstairs, when I suspect others might have said "too hard" or insisted this was not what they had been booked for. Removals must be hard work and often thankless, so I was impressed these men had the right attitude for the job.

I found Metro Movers through WoMow and I was really pleased with their service during our recent move. We had them pack, move and partly unpack and the whole thing cost around $2200 which was almost $1500 cheaper than we had been quoted by one of the large companies. The packing was definitely worth it - those guys packed all of our stuff (and we had a lot) in about 5 hours. The movers were very helpful and careful: there was only one minor breakage during the whole move. The unpacking was okay, although the person did some odd things like unpack all of the liquor into an easily reached shelf on the floor. I probably wouldn't get the unpacking service again as I ended up re-doing a lot of it, but that was a small thing overall. On the whole they provided an excellent service at a competitive price.

They were excellent and worked really hard. Nothing was damaged or scratched and everything was placed in the new house exactly as I wanted it. We recently had our residential move from a 4-bedroom house to a 3-bedroom townhouse temporarily. MetroMovers executed the job superbly. They were flexible in meeting our changing requirements; we had to change the date of move and final destination several times over the last 2 weeks before the move, as the answers to our â€œwhereâ€ and â€œwhenâ€ questions changed almost daily depending on the development of the settlement of the house that we bought. (The original vendor of the house has gone bankrupt before the settlement date.) The admin staff was very helpful whenever we called up to make the changes. The crews, both the packers and movers, were friendly and professional. They took great care in handling the furniture and fragile items. We were amazed how they managed to stack our personal effects that come in various shapes and sizes neatly in the garage. We'll definitely use them again in our future move.

The job occurred faster than expected, and the boys maintained their smiles even with some difficult pieces of furniture (double-sized fridge in particular). We had metromovers pack up all our kitchen drawers and ornaments and they moved us from a 2nd floor apartment in Toorak to a home in Mount Eliza. I have moved three times in the last 5 years and I have only now, since moving with metromovers, discovered that moving can be a very pleasant experience. The packing lady was extremely careful with our things but so very quick, as were the very polite removalists on moving day. The office was very helpful in booking in my move.
