Discovered John a few years ago when I called him up to diagnose a cracked cylinder. Have been using him exclusively ever since; for car services, to emergency calls. He arrives quickly, I got stuck at a servo today, car wouldn't start. Called up John and he arrived within 20 minutes and I was back on the road 5 minutes later. John is thorough and walks you through exactly what the problem is and how he will fix it. Very reasonably priced too! Cheers John!

John was great. Super fast service. Diagnosed my cars problem and walked me through the disassembly process and gave sound advice to ensure l was able to complete the repair once a part was sourced. I saved me money on the old van and got it running a treat. John was happy for my teenage son's to watch the process and explained everyting to them in simple terms. I highly recommend John. Cheers.

I believed I had a carburettor issue on my old classic Ford and took it to John. He took the time to test it on a engine he had on site. John did not charge me for his time and proved to be quite knowledgable. I would thoroughly recommend him to the old school classic car fraternity.

John is a gem. I needed a mechanic to guarantee my c.1980 vintage caravan was in towable condition. I had no trouble getting hold of him and he was on time for our appointment. It took a couple of goes for old fittings, etc, but there were no major problems and he kindly towed it to where I needed to go. He is a good bloke, good humoured, 'safety first' and knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

I’ve used John before and was extremely happy with him them, so when I needed a mobile mechanic of course he was my go to. John is clever and a straight talker. When my car wouldn’t start he came out when I called late in the afternoon and diagnosed why my car wouldn’t start and explained the problem. The next day he SMS to let me know he was on his way. John fixed my car and it’s running great. Good old fashion service from an honest, friendly person. I would highly recommend John for your mobile mechanic needs.

We hadn't used John before but he was the only one we could find who would come out after hours and he was there in a matter of minutes. John was quickly able to identify the issue which ended up being something simple and not something big and expensive as we were expecting it to be. I went to Jonny with my vy and he beat the original quote and did extra work, showing me everything that was wrong and seemed very knowledgeable and told me to come back if anything came up but it’s been two weeks and everything is working perfectly, couldn’t go to anyone better!

Have found ourselves in a bind a few times, lucky for us we found John, from Betta Mobile Mechanics, He came down to Dandenong at short notice. As a woman sometimes mechanics can be patronising but not John. He fixed the car, did a great job at a great price and even taught us some stuff about cars. He explained everything with NO MANSPLAINING WHATSOEVER. Being a hardworking family man, John is very safety minded. He also takes immense pride in his work, even calling to come back by and make sure everything was fixed and perfect. We have used his service a few times now and will continue to do so. We (mum and I) feel so comfortable with John. He is highly professional while remaining friendly, down to earth, respectful and real. We feel we can ask anything without feeling stupid. I had a serious issue with my car. I called John, he came out within a couple of hours and quickly diagnosed the issue. John came back later that afternoon with parts and tools to re thred my sparkplug housing. John then also was kind enough to provide me a lift out of his way to mornington so I didn't have to drive the car while the locktight set the new sparkplug thread sleve in place. I highly recommend John, he showed excellent knowledge and confidentially fixed my car, John was polite and didn't mind answering all my questions. Simon - Frankston South.

John is a life saver! My old chev broke down in the middle of a Sunday and I was worried I wouldn't be able to find someone with experience in older cars. I was blown away by the amount of knowledge John had about my car and he got to work straight away finding out the problem which he fixed for me in no time and even explained it in detail in a way that I could understand. John was an absolute pleasure to deal with and is clearly honest, hardworking and passionate about his field of work. Had a Kia Cerato that wouldn't start and John was available to come out straight away (unlike the first mobile mechanic i called). This was my first time dealing with John but he will be the first call i make if i ever get stuck with car trouble again. He got the car started with no fuss and even saved me some money by suggesting that it was likely a faulty part that was recently installed by another mechanic. Rather than charge me to replace the part himself (as a lot of mechanics would do) he suggested that if i took it back to the original mechanic they would replace it for free (which they did). Honest, knowledgeable and friendly without being condescending like some other mechanics.

My car was making a weird noise for awhile and then the engine light came on so I thought I better call him out to have look within 5mins he knew exactly what was wrong and was able to fix it at my house a few days later. John was recommended to me by a friend when my dog ate through my drivers side seatbelt and I was unable to drive anywhere. I am very glad that I took my friend's advice! Apart from the fact that John is friendly, easy going and put up with my crazy dog, he was also very knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing as he was doing it - in an educative way rather than condescendingly as some mechanics might. He was also perfectly willing to acknowledge when he didn't have the solution, which in my case meant not being able to diagnose and fix a wiring issue. He immediately organised to take my car to an auto electrician who was able to fix it straight away, and John then explained to me what the issue had been. His prices are fixed and reasonable, especially considering I didn't have to leave my own home. I have no hesitation in recommending John to anyone, and am very happy to have found such a great mechanic that I am confident will be able to assist me whenever and however my car needs.

My SUV had a battery that wasn't holding a charge and John shopped around for a good price, delivered and installed and gave my vehicle a quick once over at the same time. John has been servicing our cars for about 2 years now. My 1990 work ute was getting sluggish and past due for a service so rang John to come down. All I can say is this man is a magician. After a service and injector clean it runs better then when I bought it 5 years ago. John's extremely knowledgeable, friendly, doesn't cost a arm and a leg and convenient getting your car serviced at home.

I had a problem getting the car started & found John online with good recommendations. He came out the very same day, fixed the problem & didn't charge a callout fee as he was close to me at the time. I was grateful so booked him for a big service which he did, including taking the car to get tyres changed & the price was much cheaper than expected. I have recommended him to friends & will be calling him out for another service soon. Friendly & didn't feel he did anything that wasn't necessary. Definitely recommend his services.

I was in urgent need of a mobile mechanic and John made my job a priority an came out within 24 hours. His customer service was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Being a woman, it is always a concern that I will be overcharged when it comes to things I am unfamiliar with and not for a moment did I feel that with John. In fact it was the opposite. He is now my go to mechanic and I highly recommend him.

I called Betta Mobile Mechanics on a Friday afternoon after having some issues with my car not starting. The problem fixed itself by the time the mechanic got there, nevertheless, he stayed and checked every little thing, took us for a drive around the block to check the car and even pumped up my flat tires! Highly recommend!

Even before John accepted the job he tried to help me troubleshoot the problem over the phone and when he diagnosed the issue he promptly arrived and had me on the road in no time at all. John explained the work and pricing to me before beginning and stayed true to his quote, even more so he came back the following day free of charge just to make sure the second hand alternator I purchased from the wreckers was charging correctly! First and last time customer. Asked for a major service which included the parts. Once the job was done, I was charged a minor service in which parts were charged on top which worked out to be about $60 more expensive! It was quite sneaky. Had 2 globes replaced, a fan belt and a sump plug. The mark up on these was about 80%. Rip off. John rang the next day admitting he had overcharged and I received a $25 refund taking it from $925, to $900. The final price should have been around $800 maximum. This is the type of thing which infuriates me about mechanics which is not being honest about pricing. The website clearly shows $535 for a major service. The invoice was manipulated for his benefit of making more money. Will NOT be back!!!!!

Just as everyone else describes. Very helpful, friendly, upfront about costs, and came out to us on a Saturday morning. Did a service, replaced front brake pads (which were making a racket and were completely worn), oil, + others. We also had a funny noise from the engine bay (sounded like a bad belt) but he tidied up the rest of it, suggested we leave it for a short time to check if it improved and it hasn't made a noise since.

We are a young family with a small child so choosing a service that is affordable, efficient and effective is imperative. John was professional, curteous & informative. Our car was way beyond repair, so instead of giving us a long list of repairs with an unnecessary bill, John advised the car wasn't worth repairing & gave some suggestions of which cars would be best for us to buy. We paid a small call out fee. I can't put into words how refreshing it is to be provided with a service from such an honest mechanic. Thanks again John.

Serviced my ML350 and RX350 in a row on 2 days last week. John provided excellent services and quality of repairing/replacing necessary parts. John also did free changing parking bubble this Tuesday as he promised. Comparing to what other dealers quoted, John gives me 100% confidence of knowing what these charged for and real labor time to do so (approx 3hrs each day onsite not incl the time he went out buying some necessary parts). I've recommended John to one of my staff and surely will ask him again when the next services due.

I contacted John to organise a service and work out why my engine light was coming on and car wasn't starting. He arrived on time if not 5 minutes early! He had very good customer service. He was very honest about everything and was up front about pricing. Being young its normal for a mechanic to try and mark everything up and rip you off. In this case definitely not I've never used John before and would recommend him to my friends and family!

Being a mobile operation really suits my situation as work commitments make booking a vehicle in locally, getting to work and back, a major headache. John is quick to find a problem and to produce the solution. Will no doubt be using him again in the future.

Nice dude. Came to my car and got the lock nuts off my tyre and changed it for me and I didn't have to sell an organ on the black market to pay for it. He checked my oil and stuff too. Will use this business again.

Quick and professional service, reasonably priced. Very happy. I'm a tradesman and rely upon my vehicle to work so getting back on the road quickly was great. And he's a nice bloke. Would recommend and will use again.

It was really easy dealing with John. We were both clear on the work to be done and if anything changed, he prioritised the work in terms of what should be done and what could wait. He was also very prompt and very tidy. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

My husbands car would not start, so I looked for a Mobile Mechanic on line. Rang Betta Mobile Mechanics, within half hour John had arrived and found the problem. John had to go and get a new part and was back that afternoon, he fixed the problem, and I would recommend him to my family and friends. The service was great. Thankyou.

extremely happy with johns work, he is a very honest and efficient mechanic that you can talk to which put me very much at ease. He took time to explain the problems and show me the worn out parts, his quote was very reasonable and a lot cheaper than others I called, I will definitely be a returning customer and will be keeping him as my regular car maintenance man, My car drives like new again. Excellent service. I felt at ease with John and he kept me informed throughout the entire process with regards of what needed to be done and what I could get away with leaving, I called this company as I had brake issues but ended up leaving with a full service done as John had fixed that problem quite quickly and had given me a reasonable price to do a full service. At very short notice, I rang Betta Mobile Mechanics to try to start my sons broken down car and rectify what needed to be done. To my delight, John was able to attend same day (2 weeks before xmas) amazing. He diagnosed the problem(s), went to purchase the parts and installed them, wacko the car started. All with John trying to keep the costs down for us. He showed me all the faulty bits and kept me informed all the way throughout. Very happy customer and John will now be my first port of call for future servicing of my own car. I could not recommend this mechanic enough to anyone needing a mobile service. Thanks heaps

Made the time to come see us on a saturday afternoon at our house, was methodical in diagnosing the issue, even returned on the Monday free of charge to inspect an issue he felt he overlooked. charged what he said he would charge and we were happy to pay for the excellent service provided.

Very happy with the service I received from Betta Mobile mechanic. My car was barely starting and would've needed to be towed to a mechanic but within a few hours of calling it's now running perfectly and not missing a beat. Will be using Betta in the future.
