I go here regularly for there wide selection of cold meats and cheeses which are excellent. They also have wine, pastas and other specialty goods which are all good quality. The prices are pretty outrageous though and the staff are painful to put it mildly. They will not willingly give you a plastic bag even if you have 20 items and constantly try to up-sell products to you. It's a gourmet deli not a Maccas. No, I don't want to buy the brie that's been sitting on the counter all day. Yes, I know it's very nice...
This place has the freshest fruit and vegetables around and a great selection of more unusual veg - watercress, white asparagus and cavolo nero in season. It's always packed - make sure you stay out of the way of the old guy stacking the fruit or you'll get told off! But you can't beat the quality and the prices are pretty good.
Great value online pet supplies shop. Stocks hard to find super premium brands such as Artemis and Eagle Pack Holistic. Good prices and free delivery over $70 to Melbourne Inner. Would definitely recommend. Every time I've order the food has arrived the next morning!
Great fresh fish option for lunch. It's always packed but the service is fast and friendly. Really outstanding quality seafood for the inner city. Only gripe is the mayo they use which is the super sweet variety bleurgh! But don't need it anyway when the fish is so good.

The food here is amazing. We had the four course menu with every course being better than the last. The only problem was the size of the meals - we were pretty full after entrees and there was still 3 courses to go... and there was NO way we were going to stop there. As an example for the second course there was a whole chicken for our side of the table (4 people). Woah! Highly recommended but don't eat for the week beforehand.
We used to go here every week for breakfast which is consistently good. Eggs benedict was always a favourite and the coffee was generally quite drinkable. The problem was getting service in the first place. We eventually gave up going because it was too frustrating. They must have had high turnover because we never saw the same person twice and would often wait 1 hour plus for our food to arrive.

Wow! As far as buffets go, this is a long way away from the local RSL. The food is amazing. A good range of seafood, roasts and salads. All very fresh and delicious. Desserts are also fab. Would highly recommend. The buffet is quite reasonably priced - they compensate for this though by charging through the nose for drinks.
Probably the best flame-grilled prawns I've ever had in my life. Although, I didn't really have a choice as the waiter looked very narky and gave me about 3 seconds to order. I've been there twice - the first time with my Greek boss to whom the waiter was charming and the second time with a friend (the same waiter looked like he wouldn't spit on us). I know it's an institution but I found the whole thing stressful. Yes the food is good but probably not good enough to ruin your night out by dealing with the rude staff for.
Great pub and a Richmond institution. Great for a night out when you're feeling a bit depressed and grungy and want to let it all hang out. The beer on tap is called Piss and the light equivalent is Piss Weak. Only in Melbourne! Trivia is fabulous (and messy) if you get a chance to go.
Great place to pop in for a Vegie hit. Serves are huge and great value. The place is a bit cramped and always packed and the staff can be a bit surly but I guess I might be too if I was that flat out! Love the roti wrap. For about $10 you can't beat it for a square meal and some vitamins before a night out.
