Smith's Seafoods is awesome! Great quality and the freshest seafood on offer, cooked to perfection. There is a reason the line up is always long and parking scarce. A little bit pricey, but delicious.
Charm Kitchen is a great addition to the new restaurant precinct at Miranda Westfield. The food here is fabulous, with a particular mention to the chilli jam dish - highly recommended! I thoroughly enjoy eating here, the restaurant has a pleasant ambience and I think others would enjoy it as much as I do.
The New Hampton Hotel is one very chic place to hang out with friends. The interior is done very nicely, the vibe suits a range of different people and the food is delicious. It is in a convenient location in the heart of Kings Cross, within walking distance of the train station. There is something for everybody at this venue!
Zimzala restaurant has prime position at South Cronulla beach, it is impossible not to feel relaxed and at ease when dining here. I have only dined here at breakfast time, but the food is fantastic. Fresh, modern and delicious, you will not leave Zimzala hungry. A little pricey, but worth it as a treat if you do not eat out that often.
Fiori's is a lovely local restaurant serving up all your Italian favourites. There is something for everybody on the menu and the servings are generous in size. The staff are consistently friendly and on the ball. I especially enjoy the mid week special of two courses for the $35 including seafood! Worth a visit and a really pleasant dining experience.
La Vera Pizza serves up some really delicious pizza in my local area. The pizza bases are authentic, and the pizza choices are amazing. Good quality and even better service when it comes to delivery times. I look forward to ordering from here again soon.
Spy-C is your local Thai take-away shop, not the best Thai food I have ever had and certainly not the worst Thai food I have ever had, just average. My meal was ok, nothing to rave about, but my husband's meal was pretty much inedible. Maybe I caught them on an off night, but I doubt we will be ordering from here again. The delivery time was really quick on the plus side.
I visited Mercato E Cucina for the first time over the weekend, and absolutely loved it. My food was divine and of the highest quality, as were the meals of all my friends. Definitely a special occasion restaurant, it was a little pricey just for lunch. The service was outstanding. I love the grocery store adjacent. Worth a visit for any Italian food lovers!
Avis is a huge disappointment and I will certainly be warning everyone looking to rent a car to go elsewhere. My husband and I organised a hire car for the weekend just passed in Brisbane. We have a young baby, so we also organised a rear-facing baby car seat to be installed in our hire car also, at the cost of $30. We get to Brisbane, and clearly they do not have enough staff serving customers, because it took forever and a day to get served, and pay, and get to our hire car, but this is not my source of complaint. We went to put our baby into the car seat and the car seat was 100% wobbling and not installed properly in accordance with Australian standards. We could easily move that baby car seat, it was not secure at all. I am scared to think what would happen to my baby or any baby in that car seat in the event of an accident, she would have zero protection. My husband and I were shocked and called for help immediately. The staff were unhelpful and dismissive stating how its a courtesy for them to even provide the seat (never mind that we paid to rent it) and that the liability is ours (not Avis) in the event of an accident. We were very concerned about this and hesitant to put our baby in that car seat and go out on the roads. However it was late at night, and we were getting nowhere with the Avis staff. So, we drove to our destination, very slowly and with me in the back seat holding the baby car seat so it would not wobble. My husband called Avis and emailed Avis requesting an immediate call and resolution. Avis switchboard did indicate they were had a right to complain about this and got the Avis Brisbane [redacted due to personal identifier] to call us, that [redacted due to personal identifier] was very dismissive saying that he had an office full of people and couldn't deal the issue then. We were only going to be in Brisbane and renting the car for two days, and we really couldn't go anywhere with no baby seat installed safely. In the end, after waiting for call backs from Avis for half a day, my husband drove to a baby shop and bought the required parts (at our expense) and secured the baby car seat tightly as they are meant to be. We lost a quarter of our weekend away. After arguing with Avis, we were able to get a refund of the baby car seat rental and one day of our rental car back. We were positively alarmed that Avis is renting out baby car seats like that to the public, completely unsafe. Dealing with Avis was disappointing, they were unapologetic and really just did not care about the situation they had put us in. Unaccountable and plain unsafe, if you have kids I would highly recommend not renting a car through Avis. Very poor customer experience!
Bangkok Corner is a really good local Thai restaurant. Conveniently located on the Kingsway opposite the Westfield, the restaurant has plenty of seating if you want to dine in, or you can get takeaway as I normally do. The menu offers all the usual Thai favourites and they are executed deliciously. The staff are friendly and approachable. They often throw in free drinks which in an unexpected nicety. Worth eating at!
