Osteopathy is a system of manual therapy that treats the whole body based on biomechanical principles. Using a range of techniques, osteopathy looks for the cause of a problem and then treats the cause to remove the symptoms. As such, osteopathy is used to treat musculoskeletal problems as well as other functional disorders of the body.

Osteopathy Benefits in sport

Osteopaths respect the body's natural self-regulating ability, and only intervene when pain and discomfort take away from day to day activities. Through proper consultation, diagnosis and treatment Osteopathy assists in improving mobility, structural stability and alleviating pain and symptoms.

These benefits transfer directly into the sports sector where injuries are a common part of participating in contact and non-contact activities. Eva has an extensive history of treating elite athletes including, footballers, netballers, cricketers, runners and extreme sports athletes. Athletes commonly seek out Osteopaths when injured for the broad range of benefits they provide, such as; restoring movement to an injured area, improving range of movement to the injured area, alleviating degree of pain and assisting in rehabilitation/prevention management plans to ensure that there is no reoccurrence of the injury.
