All 24 of our Junior Representative Teams have now been locked in to head down to Melbourne to compete in tournaments over the June long weekend.
4 teams have qualified for the National Junior Classic, in which 128 of the best teams across Australia compete and are invited based on performance in the first half of the calendar year. Our U12 Girls Premier, U14 Boys Premier, U16 Girls Premier and U18 Girls Premier have all been selected and we can`t wait to see what they can do!
All other teams will be headed to the Nunawading Tournament. These are excellent opportunities for our athletes to bond and learn as they take on various teams from around the country.

It has been a HUGE weekend for our Hills Hornets teams, with a double-header in the HIVE for Pink Round!
Saturday brought the HIVE alive as we took on the Illawarra Hawks. The Youth Men 1 took out a tight game against Illawarra, with Ethan Moss top-scoring on 27 points. Our Youth Women 1 also got the win, as Chelsea Hudson led the pack on 22 points. Our Youth Women 2 took on St George, with dominant performances from Sophie Taggart and Leah Fowler.
Our NBL1 Women then took on the Illawarra Hawks and brought the intensity. Rachel Mclimore flaunted her 3-point shooting skills, earning 21 pts, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Ella Leasuasu also played a significant role in the win, with 13 pts, 5 rebounds & 2 steals. Meanwhile, our NBL1 Men had an epic game, with Ishmael Sanders top-scoring on 26 points. The combination of young players in Mitch Smith and Jamie Munro proved to be lethal against Illawarra.
Sunday saw our NBL1 Women pull through in the final minutes, earning the win by just 4 points. Emma Kary led the momentum shift that wins the game, with 27 pts, 7 rebound and 2 assists. Meanwhile, Taylah Moss dominated in the final quarter to bring us home. The NBL1 Men unfortunately lost to Canberra Gunners, but performed against a tough match-up. Our Waratah Men also took home a win, in their 2023 Grand Final rematch. Meanwhile, Lav Banjac had an insane 28 points in our Youth Men 2 game against Hawkesbury.
We can’t wait to see you back in the HIVE for our next home game on June 2!

From Monday 29 April – Sunday 5 May, we hosted our annual Pink Round in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
The purpose of the week was not only to raise awareness, with players, coaches and spectators all encouraged to wear their pink, but also raise money for the cause. Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian women, with one in seven diagnosed in their lifetime. Over 20,000 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year as well as over 170 men.
As a community, we managed to raise over $1700 through the sale of our pink socks and direct donations. Thank you to all who donated or supported the cause. This allows BCNA to help these women, men and families to not go through their journey alone. You are still able to donate at any time and keep the support going by clicking the `donate` button on our website.
All online donations during Pink Round went into the running to win a `Pink Hamper` with a bunch of amazing goodies from City Cave, Endota Spa & more. The winners of the hampers were Lauren Alley & Carmen Abbott.
Get your tickets for the NBL1 Double Header this weekend - dedicated to a great cause! We`re taking on Illawarra & Canberra and it`s bound to be a tough weekend. With General Admission or Season Tickets available, get in quick to secure your spot courtside. Be sure to buy your pink socks & wear PINK to raise money for Breast Cancer Network Australia.
