What exactly does a chiropractor do?

A chiropractor is a doctor who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system. They also have extensive training in manual therapy, including spinal manipulation, joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, exercise prescription, and electrotherapy.

At LJ Chiropractic our aim is to provide quality chiropractic care to restore normal function by realigning the vertebrae so that they are once again working together like a well-oiled machine. By providing spinal care & restoring proper alignment we help our patients regain full range of motion, reduce inflammation, improve nerve conduction velocity, increase blood flow and oxygenation, decrease muscle tension and relieve pressure of nerves and joints.

We offer an array of services for all ages including children, teenagers, adults, elderly & also pregnant women. Lower back pain

Lower back pain can be caused by many different factors, including poor posture, muscle strain, or injury. It may also be due to a problem with the spine itself. If you have lower back pain, you may be experiencing sciatica. Sciatica is caused by pressure on one or more of the nerves that run along the spine. It can occur because of injury, arthritis, or other conditions.

Mid back pain

Mid back pain can be caused by many different things. If you have mid-back pain, you may be experiencing sciatica or a herniated disc. Sciatica refers to pain radiating along the path of the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back through the buttocks and down the leg. A herniated disc occurs when one of the discs between the vertebrae in the spine bulges out and presses against the spinal cord. This can cause severe pain and numbness in the legs.

Neck Pain

The ligaments holding your head and neck bones together can become stretched or torn during activity. These tears usually heal quickly without any permanent damage. However, if these ligaments tear too far, it could lead to a condition called “whiplash” where the head moves rapidly backwards and forwards. Whiplash often results in neck stiffness and soreness.

Shoulder Pain

If you experience shoulder pain, there are several possible causes: bursitis, tendonitis or rotator cuff tendinopathy. Bursitis typically affects only one side of the body; however, it can affect both sides. Tendonitis and rotator cuff tendinopathies commonly involve both shoulders. Rotator cuff tendinopathy is most common among athletes involved in overhead activities.

Hip/Knee Pain

A hip joint consists of two main parts – the ball of the femur bone and the socket, into which this fits. The knee cap sits inside the end of the thighbone. When the knee bends, the kneecap rolls over the top of the tibia bone. Knees can get injured in various ways, ranging from minor strains to serious fractures. Commonly occurring types include sprains, dislocations, and fracture.
