  • Anxiety

Fear is a universal experience, but when anxiety becomes persistent, disproportionate, or debilitating, it’s likely someone is suffering from an Anxiety Disorder. It may include excessive worry, panic attacks, and marked avoidance.

  • Depression

Depression is characterised by persistent feelings of sadness and a loss of motivation and pleasure. It is typically accompanied by negative thinking about oneself, situation, and future.

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

OCD is characterised by intrusive and distressing thoughts (Obsessions) that drive repetitive behaviours or mental acts (compulsions) performed to alleviate distress.

  • Addiction

Addiction is a complex issue that involves an inability to stop using a substance or engaging in problematic behaviours (e.g. Gambling) despite the harm - and an often ardent desire to quit. It often includes cravings, withdrawal symptoms, tolerance, and an excessive preoccupation with acquiring the addictive substance or engaging in the addictive behaviour.

  • Trauma

Unfortunately, trauma is all too common - and it has consequences. Though some might recover relatively quickly in the aftermath of a trauma, others remain deeply and profoundly impacted.

  • Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

People with BPD typically have difficulty managing their emotions, which can lead to intense, unstable relationships, impulsive behaviours (e.g. drinking, substance use, self-harm), and an unstable self-image. BPD is often accompanied by intense fears of abandonment.

“Hearing people’s stories - the good and the bad - is a privilege unlike any other”
