PELICAN POINT, Batemans Bay

"What a wonderful bird is the pelican ...."

The Clyde estuary at Batemans bay is famous locally for its colonies of pelicans who fascinate all with their amazing aerial skills and sheer physical presence.

Perhaps the best place in the Bay to view these magnificent birds is at Pelican Point, a rocky outcrop on the banks of the Clyde opposite Rafters Restaurant on Beach Road, less than 500m from the CBD.

The pelicans are fed most days at around noon, making that an excellent time for photographers, children and other visitors to enjoy these majestic Aussies in their natural environment.

Park in Herarde St (see map).
