WHAT WE DO

Driving a motor vehicle safely and efficiently on our roads is one of the most challenging but rewarding skills that people will learn during their lifetime.

Learn the essential skills required to drive a motor vehicle safely and efficiently for life, with our Professional Driver Trainer at Skills to Drive (SA).

Skills to Drive (SA) provides learner driver training services for Class “C” licencing, within Adelaide’s inner city Eastern, North Eastern, Western and North Western suburbs.

Our accredited driver trainer is an experienced professional, with a friendly, caring and positive disposition.

At Skills to Drive (SA), we are passionate about building confidence, capability and craft in our drivers.

Skills to Drive (SA) specialise in one-on-one personalised and focused learner driver training and preparation to undertake a practical on-road driving test, known as a Vehicle On Road Test (VORT).

We will work with you to build, develop and refine your driving skills and knowledge, in a way where you will gain:

Confidence in your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and cooperate positively with other road users;
Capability in understanding and willingly applying the road rules and applying recognised systems of car control in your everyday driving, in order to make informed decisions and anticipate and respond to situations on our roads in an appropriate and safe manner and
Craft building a combination of both Car Craft and Road Craft skills into your everyday driving.
Car Craft where drivers are able to effectively and efficiently operate all vehicle controls in a smooth and competent manner, to maintain full control of their vehicles when on our roads and
Road-Craft where drivers will possess the ability to confidently assess, respond to and negotiate traffic and interpret road conditions in a safe, timely and systematic manner.

WHAT WE OFFER

At Skills to Drive (SA), we provide:

A safe, friendly and positive learning environment;
Work with you to understand how best you can learn;
Tailored lessons to suit the individual needs of the driver, to enable maximum confidence, capability and learning outcomes;
Training in the knowledge and skills necessary to undertake a practical vehicle on-road driving test (VORT)
Provide a motor vehicle which is both safe and compliant with the current requirements to provide driver training and assessment services;
Current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check;
Encourage Parents / Carers / Supervising Drivers to come along to practical driving lessons with their learner drivers;
SA Government Accredited Motor Driving Instructor (Class C);
A current member of ADTA(SA) (Australian Driver Trainers Association of South Australia);
Current qualifications in Motor Vehicle Driver Training, Driver Training Skill Set and Training and Assessment
Relevant, current and comprehensive insurance coverage;
Door to Door service – we can be flexible and accommodate to client needs*;(*subject to availability and booking loads)
Assistance with building Logbook Driving Hours and practical driving experience*(*subject to availability and booking loads)
Defensive Driver Training, with a focus on Safe Driving Strategies and pro-active environmental awareness on the road;
Refresher training for returning drivers – ideal if you have been off the road for a little while and would like to regain your confidence before resuming your active driving.

Note VORT Examiner Fees may vary, subject to Examiner availability and individual Examiner charge rates.

**VORT Authorised Examiner availability is subject to current demand, availability and location.

**Test bookings should be made through your driver trainer at least fifteen (15) business days prior to the date that you wish to undertake your VORT test.

All pricing is inclusive of GST and is current as at 1st of December 2023.

Once you have booked a lesson with Skills to Drive (SA) Driver Training, you acknowledge, agree and accept that you will be bound by our General Terms and Conditions.

60 minute driving lessons and 60 minute driving lesson packages are ONLY available from Firle Plaza Shopping Centre.

Driving Lessons and Testing in Manual Vehicles are at an additional surcharge rate of ten (10) percent of the applicable charge rate.

I highly recommend Skills to Drive (SA) for anyone looking for results. John recently helped me to convert my international drivers licence to an SA driver’s license. He is an experienced, professional, thorough and organised instructor who is very knowledgeable about the process and demands of VORT. He is both tough and patient and this helped me to make good progress in a short period of time.Skills to Drive (SA) has a variety of packages to choose from and includes VORT packages - which I recommend for anyone planning on taking the test.
