Great homes start in Ballarat

It is now 12weeks in our new home. I am very happy with everything we have chosen in the build.
Simon, Brad Sam and their team made it so easy for us, plus made constructive suggestions to us when needed. Their guidance through this journey was appreciated as this was the first home build we have done. The quality of the work was amazing and Brad left no stone unturned, top job. We were able to pop in at anytime to have a look at the build as it took place if we had concerns they were addressed no issues.

We couldn’t be happier with the home Stroud Ballarat built for us. We built an off-grid (solar/battery powered) family home on acreage, and Simon and the team made the whole process quick and easy.

From the initial conversations, to planning approvals, to build and handover- the communication was great, the team was very knowledgeable and gave great advice, and the standard inclusions and build quality are great. The build happened quickly and we were kept updated with lots of photos and walkthroughs.

We built an off-grid home in Ballan with Stroud Homes Ballarat and couldn’t be happier.
There were a few things that drew me to Stroud- their standard inclusions are great and I loved their acreage designs. I sent an online enquiry to Stroud and a few other builders, and Simon from Stroud Ballarat called me the next day. Some other companies took weeks to respond and others never did!

The team at Stroud Ballarat were great at every step of the way. Being off-grid and zoned farming, there were some hoops to jump through for Council and Simon had local contacts for planners, solar technicians, etc who were able to help quickly and efficiently. Meeting with an interior designer to pick finishes was a big help.

We were kept updated throughout the whole build with weekly phone calls and lots of photos. They were very transparent and happy to answer any questions. The build quality is fantastic and we are so happy with our new home.

We’ve been moved in for about 2 months now, and as always happens, there have been a few small issues that we only noticed once we moved in. The Stroud team responds straight away to get them fixed up.

It’s a nerve-wracking time to build a new home, but the Stroud Ballarat team was incredible and we love our new home! Thanks Simon, Shaun, Sam, and Brad!

We have just built our second home with Stroud Homes Ballarat. The whole process ran smoothly, with a couple of hiccups along the way. The team were very quick to resolve these issues, to go above and beyond to ensure we were informed and happy with the outcome.
The build itself was very fast, their various contractors and workers were always on site during the week. The build was meticulously well managed, with our supervisor always being available for a chat or giving us an update (mostly weekly) within our group online platform, with multiple videos and photos taken.
As soon as we opened out front door, the excitement and reality of our build really sank in. The workmanship was second to none – high quality finishes and touches.

We are coming up to 12 months in our home and couldn’t be happier. I wanted to be able to write a review not only based on the building experience, but the after-care once completed as this is just as important as the build process. We can honestly say, you will be hard pushed to find a better builder than Stroud Homes Ballarat. Prior to meeting the Stroud team we had chosen to build with another “volume” builder. But after being disappointed time and time again, before we even signed a contract, we decided we deserved better. Given this was our dream home and final time building (we had built 4 times before) we needed to find a builder that cared and didn’t just treat us like a number. From our first phone call, to handover day, the Stroud team never disappointed us. They were honest, reasonable and considerate every step of the build. Their communication was admirable especially during lockdowns when we were unable to see the progress in person. Our home is everything we have dreamt of and more and the quality has exceeded our expectations. Every trade we’ve hired has asked who built our house as they are so impressed with the quality. Stroud also didn’t disappoint with the after-care. Although we’ve had minimal issues, they’ve been rectified quickly. We can’t thank the team at Stroud Homes Ballarat enough, for the wonderful experience, the friendship we developed and most importantly, our amazing home!

From the moment we walked into the showroom and was greated, we were excited to hear and see what Stroud Homes Ballarat had to offer. From their all included upgraded items as standard and the flexibility of us designing our custom dream family home exactly the way we wanted it.
Nothing seemed to hard or out of reach , all our ideas and dreams were listened to carefully and explained in detail what could be achieved. We didnt need to look any further, we had finally found a builder that listened, freedom of design and flexibility and best of all , could work in with us, with all our requests and time frames. After we signed up we had the pleasure of meeting the rest of the team. All of the office staff helped so much with their wealth of knowledge, the replies were very promptly replied to with little fuss. Right down to the very finer details too.
Once the building started , the team was onto it and it seemed to happen quickly, we loved seeing the slab getting poured and watching our new home grow and grow.
Every step of the way Stroud was there explaining things along the way. Stroud even go the extra mile, with full video updates throughout the build that we absolutely loved and waited each week to recieve these . A very nice personal touch.
All of the sub trades and materials are sourced locally and only use the best and have a great team to support them.
The building process was fantastic, even over difficult times with covid and others having supply delays. Nothing at all was held up, in fact our handover date was earlier than original planned , we can’t thank the entire team at Stroud Homes Ballarat for achieving this huge goal. Nothing was compromised and the quality of the workmanship is second to none.
With a few modifications along the way the origal price only increased a small amount for these changes that we made a couple of finishing touches at the end.

Our second build with the Stroud team, went as smoothly as the first one. Brad’s attention to detail is phenomenal. A quality build that again went smoothly in times when it was not always easy to source materials. Simon and Sam communicated costs and variations well in advance, which is always a good thing.

Our build was an easy process from beginning to end. We really enjoyed working with the same team for the whole build. The communication was great. The workmanship and quality is exceptional. From the day we walked into the front door at Stroud and that first site visit, the Ballarat team were amazing and have made our dream house a and shed a reality.

They have an amazing list of local contacts and produced quality work. The communication from them was amazing, given the challenges of COVID and the weather.

We built in difficult times.. face to face meetings were far and few between, long lead times and uncertainties plagued the industry. But Stroud home completed our custom dream home on an odd shaped lot with great quality and workmanship and on time!

The whole Stroud team were up front from the start and all the way through if something looked like it may run a muck and throw something out. They managed to manipulate schedules, make up time and get the job done with no impact to the quality of the end product.

Stroud stood up to the challenge of no/limited abilities for us to walk through providing regular video updates on progression.

The build was very good no problems at all.
Workmanship was excellent and quality of the home is very impressive, no issues at all during the build all went smoothly and build was managed very proffesional.
Our cost blew out a little due to some extra things we wanted done ,but we were prepared for this.
Very Happy with the entire build with just a few small issues!! with painting and gaps needing to be fixed up outside, and its all to do with new builds and property settling and weather changes which is all normal. Love our home we are very happy and impressed with the quality workmanship.

We have been in our new Stroud home now for around three months following its timely completion during difficult times, and we are completely satisfied. We were pleased with the way we were able to substantially change the standard Stroud plan to suit our site and specific requirements. We were also pleased that wherever possible, local suppliers and trades are used for Stroud builds This benefits the local community and also enabled us to easily go and check out products and services with them ( eg joinery, windows, tiles etc.).
The quality of the workmanship,(and particularly the finish ) achieved by all trades is excellent. We enjoyed very good communication with the team at all times, receiving regular updates and inspections of the work.
Since handover, Stroud staff have maintained contact, and ensured minor issues were attended to promptly.

As first time builders we were very green to the whole process but the team at Stroud supported us fabulously through each stage. We loved the ability to easily customise our design. Their commitment to using local trades is something we really liked and the quality of the work is stunning. Brad as our site manager gave us weekly update calls and video walk throughs and was there to happily answer any random question that we had and meet us on site if we wanted to have a look at anything. Building during COVID meant there was the extra difficulty of ever changing restrictions and guidelines but Brad didn’t skip a best and moved things around to always ensure the house was progressing in some way which we appreciated. We definitely enjoyed a smooth first build experience thanks to the team at Stroud.

Building a new house is always a daunting prospect, let alone in a new country in the midst of a pandemic!

Simon was upfront with costs and we really appreciated that, we actually came in just under Simon’s quote. Brad gave us weekly updates, photos and videos of how our build progressed, which meant we could share that with family overseas to include them in this exciting time as well! They really went out of their way to accommodate our requests and we absolutely love finally living in our own house.

The few minor issues we’ve had post construction were dealt with quickly and professionally.

We have now been in our Stroud home for 8 weeks. We love it!!!
The initial decision to jump in and build can be somewhat daunting. However, these apprehensions soon dissolved after our first meeting with Simon, Brad and their team. What stood out for us was straight up honesty in costs and build possibilities and a general feel of personalised service rather than being another volume build number.
In the planning process we were able to re-design a Stroud plan, changing many of the internal structures. Simon was always up front and accurate with costs.
Another bonus was being able to plan with the team’s interior designer. She was such a great help, never pushing her own agenda, instead using our ideas to create a beautiful home.
During the actual build we were very impressed with the availability to inspect the house. Unlike other companies where you may get 2 inspections, Simon and Brad invited us out numerous times to look over and explain where they were at. In their own words, “we have nothing to hide”.
This was very evident over the course of the build. No build runs along perfectly, but both Simon and Brad were constantly updating us of changes to timelines. Both were always diligent in getting back to our questions.
We are extremely happy with the quality of the build. Stroud’s inclusions are of a higher quality than a regular franchise. Our house has been fitted out with quality fixtures and fittings and many of our friends have commented on this.
We cannot thank Simon and Brad’s Stroud team enough. We had a very personalised build process, honesty, no hidden costs and open and regular contact. We have a beautiful home that will be a fantastic place for our two young children to grow up in. If you are in the process of choosing a builder, we cannot recommend Stroud Homes Ballarat highly enough.

From our initial meeting with Simon we knew that building our forever house would finally come to fruition after a very scary and heart breaking start with another builder. Simon and Brad are honest, genuine and take pride in their work and when dealing with your family’s future that is exactly what you need. They have supported us through every step and even though our house build threw up challenges which was out of their control they made sure everything stayed on track. Simon and Brad promised my kids that they would get them in their own house by Christmas because they had been waiting so long and they kept their word without compromising on any quality. After a bad experience with another builder I chose to go with Simon & Brad of Stroud Homes Ballarat. I have found them to be very professional, have answered my calls and my queries and have kept me up to date on where we are at at all times. Stroud homes have a lot of designs that are different to all the other builders so there is something for everyone. They are now about to start my build and are just waiting on the building permit to arrive. Together we will then be on a journey to build my forever home. Can’t wait.
