We signed our building contract before covid hit waiting for our land to settle. In that time Dave and Liz brought Stroud homes.

We can’t speak highly enough about the new owners Dave and Liz Bird from Brisbane South team. They always went above and beyond and the standard of our home is second to none. Amazingly our home was built in 20 weeks and 3 days.

Well planned and communicated, however with the boom in sales was working with unreliable and sometime poorer quality tradesman was tough for Pete but due his composed and professionalism we managed to get the outcomes as promised. An excellent new build and plan to use Pete again if possible in the near future

I would recommend Stroud, very good workmanship, very good contractors and good communication. Had a few small issues when the build was completed, they were handled efficiently and quickly.

We have been in our Stroud Home for 9 months and are still completely in love with it. We have had no major problems, build quality is great and pulling up to it every afternoon is always a highlight of our day. Firstly, If you’re looking for an open, honest, transparent, quality builder, build with Peter at Stroud Homes Brisbane South, he was great.

A bit of background to our build. We started everything just before the start of Covid in 2020 and so everything suddenly got turned upside down. I have previously posted a review of our pre-purchase experience if you wish to read.

We had a hard time from Westpac getting the valuation through as the valuers appeared to go into a bit of panic and value everything down at the start of Covid, and subsequently our contract from Stroud came in $30,000 more than what the valuers said it was worth.

Peter was very helpful in making changes to help us get it through the valuation process.

Certainly unchartered times for everyone.

Once our slab was poured, things moved along steadily through out the build, we had a few issues along the way, but the mark of a quality company is how they re-act to issues, and Peter was fantastic and always extremely fair.

His staff are great, especially Jade in the office, always willing to help, Thank you Jade.

We got a call most Fridays to inform us of the progress which was appreciated, even when they had bad news to deliver (Tradies delayed)

Overall the whole process was great, we have been in around 3 months now, and LOVE OUR NEW HOME. As expected, we have had a few minor issues which have had to be rectified (one bad point was we ended up having to call one company ourselves and arrange to be fixed as Stroud appeared to be too busy at the time to arrange). I will put another review up once our 12 month fix-up period has been completed and report on how this went as well.

At the end of the day the major question is….

Would you build with Peter from Stroud Homes Brisbane South again? Absolutely. Wouldn’t even talk to anyone else.

Our overall experience building with Stroud was AMAZING. From beginning to end we were well guided and looked after if we ever needed any assistance or had any questions. All of the team were prompt at responding and getting in touch with us at all times. Our build was managed well by our builder throughout the entire experience, we had no major issues or concerns. The quality of our home is perfect for our little family, I cannot wait to watch our daughter grow up in our Stroud Home! We definitely did not want any unexpected surprises at the end of the build when it came to pricing, and we definitely did not have that experience comparing beginning to end costs. We are so thankful and grateful for our home, we will continue to recommend these guys to all our family and friends, and I would definitely build with them again!

We built our dream (and first) home, with Stroud Homes Brisbane South Acreage and the entire process from beginning to end was an absolute breeze! The service we received from the team was always second to none and in a timely manner, regardless of the question or request of change at hand.

We had our eyes set on Stroud Homes for a number of years and have always been thoroughly impressed with the build quality, home designs and outstanding service that has always been on display. So it was a no brainer to build with Stroud Homes and we never looked back!!

The sales process was made simple thanks to Bryan’s wealth of knowledge, not only regarding the home but also the different estates we looked at for land. If you have a question about building, chances are he already has a fact sheet on it! Following the site evaluation of our block, he knew exactly what was needed to make our ideas work on our specific site. Stroud’s mindset of being upfront with all expected cost prior to quoting such as rock excavation and bushfire mitigation and swinging to the higher end of a range was reassuring instead of under-pricing to keep the price ‘looking’ low.

During the sales process we made a number significant changes to the home which were always very well communicated on the plans and quote; from modifying the kitchen to suit our needs for ample walk in pantry space to rearranging the master bedroom for the block views out the back and combining multiple façades to suit our ‘vision’ while maximising the bushland views from the front verandah. Being able to make changes to our hearts content meant we were able to make what was our perfect dream home even better!!!

The contract stage was a simple process thanks again to Trudi’s abundance of knowledge with everything contract, council and construction related. I never thought contract and simple could be used in the same sentence but Trudi has a knack for making it so. Her communication with us was always prompt, professional and honest while being easy to understand and interpret. The use of checklists and FAQs along the way was also especially useful as we always knew what was required to be done next.

During the construction process, the first thing we noticed was the attention to detail from Rob, our site supervisor. We received weekly updates without fail throughout the whole build process but also frequent updates when requested such as during the site cut / tank install / slab prep as there was a very high potential of rock based on the area; lucky for us we dodged the rock! The site was always kept tidy and the trades were polite and professional during the walkthroughs. We made a few changes to colours and such that we made after contract, these were quickly and easily sorted thanks to Trudi, Ryan and Rob depending on the stage things were at.

We recommended Stroud Homes to a number of friends while we were in the contract and construction stages based on our experiences; three of them are now under construction! If/When the time comes for our next home, we know exactly where to go!

It was a difficult decision to build again, but from the first day we met Bryan, we felt comfortable that we were in good hands. First interaction for us, tells if we are happy with the service, and from day 1, we were not let down. We found Stroud very easy to communicate with, alterations, adjustments, ideas, and additions were not a problem, and Bryan and Kyle were amazing at getting us through this first bit – even helping with some finer details.
Trudi was a delight to work with, and her “We can do anything, Nothing is a problem” attitude was very refreshing. (And Ryan & Thomas, when Trudi was away)

We built with Stroud 5 years ago , the build went very smoothly and we moved into the house 16 weeks from start to finish . The after sales service has been great, they still remember us five years on, so we would certainly recommend them for anyone look for a great home.

After hearing so many horror stories about building a home, we were prepared to weather a few stressful moments during our build, but Stroud Homes Brisbane South were absolutely fantastic. From our first meeting with Bryan we were delighted with the care and consideration they take with every prospective client.
Bryan was fantastic, especially compared to other sales teams with other builders who were late to appointments, rude and didn’t return phone calls. Bryan was polite and knew his stuff, making great suggestions and was more than happy to draft up fully custom plans without any payment or lock in from us. He and Kyle were incredibly patient with us, adding and removing items from the plans to complete our custom home design.
Once we had decided to proceed, Trudi provided incredible customer service, our contract signing and colour selection appointment was fantastic, everything was explained in full detail, and they really took their time to make sure we understood. We were not forced or cooerced into any unnecessary upgrades during our colour selection appointment, and we felt there was a wide range of inclusions as standard, as compared to other builders.
Once we started onsite, Peter our site supervisor was fantastic, incredibly thorough and happy to take the time to explain each step along the way. He was onsite frequently and would always send us updates and photos as the build was progressing. Peter would let us know if he had found any issues or mistakes and explain how they were rectified and we really appreciated his transparency. Our home was finished right on time, to a fantastic standard and we’re overjoyed with the outcome.

Manilla 302 – From the first time we met Bryan and Trudi we knew we would be building with Stroud. Every question was answered, calls always returned, changes to the plan were not a problem. Rob the supervisor could not have been better. He kept us up to date with progress reports and time lines. The quality of the build was amazing with small issues being picked up and dealt with immediately. We have moved into a well designed, well built forever home and we couldn’t be happier. We got exactly what we were after and the contract price was spot on. So glad we chose Stroud – Recommend Stroud Brisbane South Acreage to all.

The build was well managed. There were a few challenges along the way which is expected when undertaking the important task of building a new home but Stroud were very efficient in addressing things and resolving any issues. The workmanship and quality of the build is outstanding, everyone loves our new home and can’t believe the value. We’ve had nothing but positive comments especially on the brickwork. The final cost came in under the estimated cost which was surprising but also amazing. Stroud were very up front, honest and reliable. Unlike other building companies out there Stroud were flexible, reasonable and most importantly didn’t try to sell us on anything. They listened to us and worked with us to achieve the best home we could.

We built our home back in 2016 and found the process to be both quick and accurate. This allowed us to start construction straight after the registration of our block and be the first ones moved into the new stage of our estate. Those first couple of months were very peaceful 🙂

Now, nearly three years on, we find ourselves appreciating our home more and more. We’ve grown into the large home that we designed three years ago. Any questions we’ve had of the staff over the last years have been answered very professionally.

Building is never perfect, but all we could ask for is that our concerns and questions were answered in a timely manner and we can’t fault the process in that regard. Stroud SE Queensland was a pleasure to deal with. They really have their act together.
From the managing director Tom to our building supervisor Peter, to the engineers, to the office staff, they are all on the ball and eager to help and make it happen. The contractors Stroud employs are the best we have ever had and deliver a quality product.

In short. Stroud SE Qld is just being managed very effectively AND their solutions to variations are quite creative too.

We had a large number of variations including huge excavation and earth works, changing of all windows into 2600 high Stackers including the games room and master bedroom to get the best of our stunning views. Stroud did it all without pain and with an excellent end result.

Of course there were some challenges too but Stroud never made and issue out of them. They just worked on it and made it happen. No stress. They are simply reliable and trustworthy.

Of the 3 home building experiences we had over the years this experience with Stroud SE Qld was easily the winner and the Best. We will definitely recommend them to our friends.

Having the same Site Foreman gave us comfort in having one constant point of contact who kept us updated weekly on the build process. His knowledge and input was valuable to us given we lived interstate while the build process was undertaken. Stroud Administration staff were very helpful and reassuring of our needs and expectations across the whole build time frames. Stroud were great to work with and we were able to select a house design and then easily add or replace different features from other Stroud houses into our final house design. The quality of workmanship in our house is first rate and there has not been any remedial work required to be undertaken since occupancy. We are very happy with the end product and the Stroud company overall. If not for the high rainfall days during the build, the four month build time would have been about right.

From the moment my family walked into the Stroud Homes Jimboomba office we knew we had found the builder for us.

The warm and friendly reception we received from the sales staff was refreshing, it didn’t feel like they were only there for money or trying to up-sell but were informative and helpful.

Having such a huge part in the design stage was incredible, being able to meet and sit-down face to face with the person making the changes we wanted was so much easier than trying to explain the things we had in mind over an email.

The choices available as standard was and still is, unbelievable. We went into our colour selection a little bit doubtful as to how much extra this would end up costing. But came away with the perfect choices for us and it was all already included, so we didn’t have to pay any extra at all! Stroud really are Black and White right from the start!

While waiting for the plans to come out of council and continuing right throughout the entire build we were given weekly updates via phone calls, messages and emails on the progress of each stage, what had happened that week and what was happening next week. We didn’t live close to the area we were building in so this made it easy for us to decide when we would make the drive out to see how our dream was taking shape. And if anything big was happening we always knew well in advance when it was scheduled so we could make time to meet our supervisor on site and not miss out.

The consistency in the quality of workmanship we see in our Beautiful New Stroud Home is a testament to the Stroud team’s ethics, and we wish to thank everyone involved from that first day right through to receiving the keys to this amazing Dream Home for making the process feel like a dream but becoming our reality.

From the moment we walked in the door we got great personalised service, from Sales and Administration to our experienced Site Supervisor. We especially loved our colour consultation and it was great to have someone experienced to help us make the important decisions to get our home looking as good as it could.

Initially we found a new estate in a location that really appealed to us. After settling on a suitable block of land to build on we needed to find a reputable builder that we felt confident to build our home. We had seen the Stroud advertising signs and the new display home at Jimboomba Woods. Our interest led us to the Stroud website looking through their many designs. We were specifically looking for a design suitable for dual living and came across one that we could customise to meet our needs. We went to the office at the display home and spoke with Bryan who we found welcoming and very easy to talk to and he advised us that we could make as many changes until we were satisfied with our design. It was a lengthy process with emails back and forth but we finally settled on the design and were very happy with the communication and patience from the Stroud design team. We signed the contract to kick-start the build process. One of the next processes was to meet with the colour consultant. Two hours is included in the standard inclusions from Stroud. We did feel that our meeting with the colour consultant was rushed as we virtually had two homes to go through in the allotted time frame. Fortunately we were able to make variations until the build started. It would be great to see Stroud add a 3D virtual software program to their repertoire to help clients with kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobe fitouts. As these areas are a major part of the overall appearance of the house. Our site supervisor, Peter was a very knowledgeable and approachable person. We had nominated one person in our family to be the contact person between Stroud and ourselves throughout the build. Communication with Peter was no problem and he always listened if we had any concerns or questions. We had a few issues during the entire process but each time Stroud responded and provided a satisfactory solution. Every person we dealt with at the Stroud Homes Brisbane South office was professional and helpful. We moved into our new home in June 2017 and are very happy with it. After living on a tiny block in a small house for years we decided it was time for an upgrade. We wanted more space and a much larger home built to suit our needs. We found the land – an acre block – easily, but we knew that to really make our dream come true we also needed to find the perfect builder.

We went to numerous display estates and walked through some lovely display homes. We talked to a lot of sales consultants and got basic quotes from a few. We compared base prices, floor plans and inclusions and spent a lot of time talking to people who had recently built and reading build forums, slowly narrowing down our list. After viewing the acreage display home in Jimboomba Woods we knew we had found our builder and the house we wanted – Stroud Homes and the Kentucky 304 with mountain facade.

Our first point of contact was with Bryan, the sales consultant. When we first enquired we weren’t ready to commit and put down a deposit (we needed to sell our current home before we would be able to) but Bryan didn’t place pressure us and instead spent weeks going back and forth with us via email until we had the perfect quote, that suited our budget, to move forward. Other staff members of the Stroud South Brisbane team – Trudi, Emma and Kenneth – helped us through the administrative side of things for the whole build including signing contracts, organising council approvals, submitting information to the covenant and clarifying any changes as the build went on. Communication was always professional and if we sent an email asking a question we always received a response in a timely manner – usually within 24 hours or less. This high standard of communication throughout the build really helped ensure that our build was smooth from the quote stage all the way through to handover.

Early in the build process we were asked to come for our colour selection appointment to make decisions on everything colour and style wise from the shape of the cornices to the style of the bathroom cupboard handles. It could have been an extremely stressful and daunting process but wasn’t due to the support we received from Kylie the property stylist working with Stroud who helped guide us through our colour selections.

From our discussions with other people who had recently built we knew that the success or failure of a build was largely dependent on the site supervisor. We are extremely thankful for our site supervisor – Peter – who’s organisation, scheduling of tradies and communication with us made the whole process stress free. We received a phone call a minimum of once per week from Peter who would then let us know what progress had been made that week and what would be happening the following week. We were able to schedule multiple appointments throughout the build to walk through the home with Peter and ask any questions that we had at each stage and ensure that all of our variations and upgrades had been included. When it came time for PCI we were extremely pleased as only a few minor things needed to be addressed – mostly minor painting touch ups- which were quickly rectified. We were able to get the keys to our new home on schedule, a few weeks before our current rental lease was up.

We have now been in our amazing new home for a few months and couldn’t be happier. We have not had any problems since moving in and are extremely pleased with the quality of work and the finishes in our home. Should we ever decide to build again, we know of at least one team that can get the job done, within budget and on time! Thank you again Stroud Brisbane South Team!

The excellent workmanship of Stroud Homes’ staff members at Jimboomba, South Brisbane team, and their sub contractors’ are written all over the house they built for us in Mundoolun Estate, which we now gladly call ‘Adwaga Lodge’ – our HAPPY home! The visual and intricate quality of ‘Adwaga Lodge’ is superbly grounded in its confident and impressive physique on the street – we are now proud owners of a home built by a team with focus and standards.

Throughout the built journey, we had genuine mutual and reliable interactions, respectful receptions and ethical engagements with every single staff member we dealt with within the Stroud Homes’ team. We may, arguably be the only home owners that’s built a house without the universal attendance of the characteristic stressful complaints with most building process. We were respectably attended, advised and informed at every stage of the building process; and for any query we had, we were provided with a honest advise, as well as options where indicated.

The Jimboomba team’s customer service ratings from our experience and judgement is a 10/10; we couldn’t, at any one time or other, recall a behaviour that could have compromised, or fell short of the highest standards in professional etiquette.

Of particular note is our engagement with the senior management team; we were very fortunate to have met and dealt with the likes of Bryan, Stewart, Rob, Thomas, Trudi and Emma. Without doubts, the entire team at Stroud Homes were unpretentious, and at their very best in ensuring we were well served! If we are ever opportune to build again, we’d, unreservedly call back on Stroud Homes to do us another honour!

We couldn’t have been happier with Stroud Homes. We had never built before but wanted everything ‘perfect’. They were extremely patient during the design stage and when we changed our design for the umpteenth time they were happy to accommodate us. Nothing was too much trouble. The colour consultant was very knowledgeable and happy to work around a particular carpet that we had purchased separately. Our project manager always listened to any questions or issues we had and dealt with them in a timely manner. The build went smoothly and the finishes excellent. Stroud also arranged to have any repairs done at the post -12 month inspection. These are due to the house settling and they were fixed in a trouble free way. Highly recommended

The workmanship throughout the house is excellent, with a fine touch to detail that really shows Stroud Homes and the project manager really cared about the final finishes when they handed over the house to us.. All small defects or problems that were discovered during the final inspection were promptly rectified and the house was in excellent condition when we moved in.

The project was well managed from start to finish, including guiding us through the approval process and we never really had any great stress from the time we went to the sales office at Jimboomba till the final delivery date.

Customer service was always good and we were kept informed of all details and progress along the way and given prompt answers to all questions and any problems that arose.

We love Stroud Homes! The workmanship and quality of the end result was fantastic. The team did a great job in focusing on attention to detail. Our site Supervisor Peter Simpson was amazing!! He was on the ball all the time and was a pleasure to deal with. The office team were amazing as well and were very supportive and professional.

Building with Stroud Homes was a fantastic experience. My partner and I really enjoyed every step involved with building our brand new Stroud Home. From the first stages of planning the house to the handover we both could not fault the team. Our site supervisor kept us informed through the whole build with every Friday calling us and informing us about what had been done this week and what was happening next week. He was a delight to work with, with no issue being to big to handle. The quality of the build was second to none. The workmanship and build quality is absolutely perfect and as far as the build goes. Could have not have had a better supervisor. When it comes to customer’s service and support again that was unquestionably well done. What I suggest Stroud’s to family and friends? Now the probably likelihood of again we will most certainly be dealing with Stroud builders. Right from the outset we have absolutely no complaints whatsoever that we would highly recommend to anybody if they are looking to build a new home Stroud’s for two reasons one the plans and two the quality of service.

We were looking for a new home with a granny flat and having issues with finding a builder who wouldn’t change the earth for it. A local real estate agent recommended Stroud Homes for building houses with granny flats so we went and had a look at their display home, a Wildflower, and loved the open design so much we went for a house in this series and added the granny flat on the side.

During the negotiation period it was no trouble to alter anything in the house to suit what we wanted. Bryan the sales agent was excellent and nothing was too much for him.

From the start to the end of the build they were upfront and professional and went beyond our expectations and kept us well informed all along the way and answered our questions promptly every time.

We moved into the house earlier than the contract date and we found the finish of the house was excellent.

Nine months on and we still love our house like the day we walked into it.

we just built a house with stroud homes. ive worked with other home companys in the past but stroud homes is so easier to deal with. from the first day we started dealing with the salesman (name removed) he was helpful with finding the perfect design for the property and even the director Mr stroud came to the property now that is something that proves amazing service.dealing with other home companys that was never even thought of, meeting the director. with the salesman another thing that was obvious is he knew what he was talking about.

that was the very first sign to me that stroud homes was the one. once the building commenced we were always up to date with every stage and of course there was some little problems with the soil as expected but we were up to date from phone calls at all times. i really liked the fact that we had a guided tour of the site with the supervisor (name removed) he knew exactly what was going on there was never a ahh or a umm as a tradesman and contractor myself, i was pleased to see that all the work was done perfectly and neat and above minimum standards. durring the middle of the construction i was bit late one afternoon to ask stroud homes a question it was just after 5 pm every other company would just shut there phones off at 5 pm or even before (many experiances) however i talked straight with mr stroud and my question was answered instantly. now thats true service. the house is completed infact it was done before they promised. ill only ever build with stroud homes.

Our home is finished! The sheds going up next week – we had Stroud’s lay the slab and organize the kit for us but my brother in law and I will put it up.

It’s been a lot of fun dealing with these guys. It seems they are fairly comfortable with what they do as we had lots of laughs whenever we met with them at Jimboomba.

I wasn’t particularly fussed whether we bought a house or had one built but my wife definetly wanted to build – so we started looking around at builders. I just didn’t want to get tied up with the whole thing because I’m already pretty busy with my work. Everything seemed to move along easy with these guys.

They kept in touch with us, usually ringing on Friday afternoon or thursday.

A couple of times while the house was going up I popped by for a look and [name removed] was there checking out the progress. I like the idea that over and above the regimented QC work [name removed] did – the boss was “spot checking” the work.

I’m pretty happy that we decided to build. Its been fun dealing with these guys and now that we’re in its all worth the wait. They asked me to go on here and I’m more than happy to recommend these guys.

I have a good experience with Stroud Home. Customer service is good. We are well looked after so far. No hesitation in recommending them.

We built with Stroud Homes when they were a franchise. We had seen some of their homes going up in Flagstone, and we liked what we saw on the building sites. They seeemed to be be reasonably tidy and the progress seemed to move along well.

So we decided to give them a go. The salesman Lucky was great and went above and beyond to help us with things, even our bank when they wanted a valuation last minute before building. Their interior designer helped us pick the colours. She made a few suggestions and while we didn’t do them all we were very happy with the end result.

The supervisor [name removed], called us regularly about the house. There were a few hiccups, but we expected that (we’ve built before). The light switch to the media room is a bit hard to reach – it should have gone somewhere else.

The house has been good- we’ve been in it for 18 months now. There was a hole in the backyard that turned up after rain and the developer came and filled that up. They came back too and fixed a couple of doors that started rubbing a couple months after we moved in.

But all in all an easy and enjoyable experience and a great end result. We couldn’t be happier.

We didn’t want to build our home with a franchise, knowing that part of our money would be going to an executive in a city somewhere, possibly overseas. By choosing to build our home with a local family owned company like Stroud Homes, we have been able to ensure that the money we are spending is being kept within our local community. This means that our home hasn’t been marked up with ‘secret taxes’ to cover the loyalty fees that many customers of franchise homes often complain about.

Another thing that we have appreciated about [name removed] and [name removed] service is that they listened to what we wanted and allowed us to make many modifications and add-ons to their plan in order to meet both the needs of our family and ensure that the home is efficient and as environmentally friendly as possible.

As we have not built a home before, we really appreciated the more personal touch that is offered with this company, such as providing us with weekly updates via phone and “FAQ’s” to answer many of our questions, which has been reassuring. Also of great importance to us was having a guaranteed time frame for the build for peace of mind. Communication has been consistent and reliable throughout the process which has been very beneficial to ensure that everything is working seamlessly. Although the construction of our home is not yet complete, I have found this team to be dedicated to delivering the promises they make, often going that extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction, quality finishings and beautiful homes.

Stroud Homes have been sensational through out this entire process. We haven’t built before and they made the experience a wonderful one. They are professional, they don’t cut corners, if there are any problems then they fix them straight away. Their products are high end, their service is wonderful, they do everything to make your house a home. We recommend them to family and friends. Thanks and we will most definately build with them again.

I just built a home in Beaudesert with Stroud Homes. The team were fantastic – great support, constant communication, nothing was a problem. The contractors were also great to deal with and even hired them for other work. I have built before and for a change this time the yard was left spotless, not like other builders.

The finished product is beautiful, on handover only minor things to be dealt with and they were attended to within the week.

I think our biggest drama on building was the council.

If I decide to build another property I would turn to Stroud Homes again.
