I had the pleasure of building my first home with Yarren and the team in 2021 and it was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life.

From day one everyone at Stroud went above and beyond to make sure that the build was straightforward and it really felt that they put a good deal of effort into making sure I enjoyed the process.

Being a bit indecisive I made a few alterations as we went along but nothing was ever a hassle. Even included a pool that wasn’t initially discussed!

Every step of the way was right on time, bang on quality and it seemed they were really proud of the work they were doing.

In the end top quality service isn’t about nothing going wrong, it’s about resolving the unexpected and reaching the goal.
Stroud were seriously impressive in this regard, at a time when trades and supplies were becoming tough to secure there was a small speed bump in the road.
Yarren was completely upfront and solved the issue beautifully, I was celebrating Christmas in my new home as planned thanks to their skill in navigating through this.

I felt every bit of care was given to my build, despite it being smaller than many of their other projects and look forward to building the next with Stroud again.

We did a lot of research before we settled on Stroud Homes Coffs Harbour and we could not be happier with the final product. We are now 12mths post build and can safely say that the decision to select Stroud Coffs Harbour is one we are pleased we made. From initial discussions through to final handover, we have been very impressed with the professionalism & approachability of Yarren & the team at Stroud Coffs.
Some key points for us:
– Ease of communication with Stroud team and the Friday check-in calls with the Site Supervisor were invaluable.
– Access to a design/colour consultant made the planning process a lot easier for us because we didn’t have set ideas on fixtures, colours etc.
– Our Site Supervisor did additional touches along with way (ie added an outdoor ceiling fan to design during build and Site Supervisor added the bridging in rake to mount).
– An electrical walk-through with the electrician to clarify outlet spots & add any additional outlets we decided were needed (i.e. outdoor power for a water feature that was not in original plans)

All these little things combined to create an amazing build experience and we could not be happier with the end product.

Our journey started with Tim at Stroud Homes Coffs Harbour, nothing was too much trouble for Tim, he answered the 100 plus questions that we had and took the time to view our land and provide the best options for what would suit the site. A plan was put in place and the journey began! We then had the pleasure of dealing with “The Boss Man” Yarren, who took the challenge on with what was going to be not so much of a straightforward build! Problems showed themselves early on and Yarren went into “problem solving mode” from the get go! Lots of backwards and forwards with house plans, driveway permits and council and the problem was solved! First we had to retain the back of the block, a big job and one that I can say looks amazing! Everything from the start went seamlessly and Yarren then passed us on over to James, who continued with the impeccable service and updates through to the final handover day! A proud moment and in the absence of my husband, who was not able to make it on handover day, I had the pleasure of sharing with James and Yarren! I would not hesitate to refer Yarren and the team to anyone who is considering a new build and wants to have the reassurance of some one who will work with you, get the job done and the satisfaction you will have will be one to remain with you! We cannot express how happy we are with our new home, absolutely love it. It was our first ever build and our experience commenced with Tim , a lovely bloke who worked through the huge selection of plans , until we found the one to meet our needs and preferences. We were able to make some changes without any problems.

Thanks to Yarren (the owner) and the team at Stroud. The level of service during our build was amazing. They gave us a bespoke home and nothing was too difficult for them to implement. We had the freedom to modify and shape our custom house as we liked.

We spent months working on the design plans with the team so that everything was squared away. Stroud even shared a powerful software tool so that we could add and manipulate our plans in 3D. We had minimal defects on our very complex home and every defect has been rectified. Yarren and the team have gone above and beyond with an attention to detail well after the initial warranty period.

We went to a few different builders before deciding on Stroud. Our experience was that the owners did not make themselves available. We met one competitor’s owner once and that was when our paths crossed in the doorway of the office.

A late review, but perhaps a different perspective as we have been in our home, built by Stroud Homes Coffs Harbour for 3 years now. We can not only comment on the build process but also the quality and after built customer service provided by the team.
The whole process from choosing our plan to the handover was seamless. We were constantly impressed by the quality of all the trades from the excavation work through to the final fitout. We had a few variations to the plan, but these were handled professionally and costed and agreed upon before work was done.
3 years on and after the excitement of moving into a beautiful new home has faded (a little), we can honestly recommend Stroud Homes Coffs Harbour to anyone who is looking for quality and professionalism when building their new home. At the 3 year stage we are as happy today as the day we moved in.

We found our experience with Stroud Homes to be nothing short of perfect.

From the onset, Stroud were very committed to creating a functional & gorgeous home for us and focused on transparency. With us being new to the build process, they explained everything in layman’s terms to us so we knew what we were signing up for & had full confidence when handing over money & our vision. They supported our ideas yet gave us practical advice so we would end up with a home that is long-lasting, visually stunning, yet actually liveable.

They were honest with us when we were dreaming, and pushed our design vision when we played it safe. We gave them our budget & we worked closely together to include what we wanted in the home, but to also be mindful of costs. They are very transparent when it comes to pricing & the process, giving you a full itemised list of costs when designing the home and being very clear when it comes to expectations & timing etc. They also over-price where possible to avoid bill shock whilst you build, which we immensely appreciated… In our research phase, we found that some other builders initially could come off as ‘cheaper’ but with the possibility of additional hidden costs & prices creeping up throughout the build. We definitely felt like we were getting honesty, quality & a long-lasting house build.

They also worked very closely with us to create a custom house build because of the irregular shape of our block of land. The team spent countless hours with us – developing our dream home – without asking for upfront custom plan deposits etc. We never got the feeling that Stroud were ever pushing to close a sale or that we weren’t a valued customer to them. No matter our request (and we had many!) and no matter the task, they were always very confident in their decisions, supportive & willing.

Overall, they are a very supportive & talented team that we would recommend to people in a heartbeat. We look forward to designing (+ building) a home with Stroud again in the future 🙂

Communication was one of the standouts in our build with the Coffs Harbour Stroud team; there was not a week that went by without a check-in call from the super supervisor, James, to us. We felt confident that our calls to Stroud were heard and nothing went unanswered. Building in 2021, through some of the time and product constraints of the covid crisis, came with challenges for everyone, but the problem solving and steady, proactive management approach of Yarren, Erin and the team was fabulous. Now that we are post construction and living in and enjoying our home, we can reflect and be grateful for so much- the fixed price contract, the workmanship, the positive relationships with supervisor and trades, the follow up maintenance for the few minor issues, and the opportunity to share our experiences with others.

The supervisor and management on our build were very professional returning our calls and checking in with updates every week. Nothing was ever a problem even with changes mid way. Tradesman were all of the highest quality. Our final cost was exact to the quote with added variations by us.

From start to completion the build went extremely well with very minor issues, the quality of the work is above standard and any minor items where rectified very efficiently by the project manager, as stated above all issues no matter how minor or major we are completely satisfied with, the cost of the build was pretty much on budget and we are happy with that.

We were kept informed every week with updates, photos.
Nothing was a problem, the site supervisor was amazing, went out of his way for us, the end result is amazing, can’t fault it.
The cost was the same as quoted.

We are very happy with our new Stroud home, it is everything we wanted and expected. The build was managed expertly , we were continually updated and consulted on every little issue that arose , and the tradesmen were all friendly and did their work well. The final cost was what we had expected.

I’ve built several homes over the years. This build was completed in 20 weeks and was underpinned by consistent communication, commitment from the Stroud Coffs Team and pride in their work. There were no issues at all during the planning stage and throughout construction. Everything the Stroud Team said they would do, they did. This build took place when I was in lockdown in New Zealand for 10 months so the communication and progressive photos were critical. I was informed and updated throughout the build. We have already commenced discussions with Stroud Coffs Harbour for our next build – that speaks volumes about our level of satisfaction.

Our second build with Stroud, and once again, the team did not let us down!! Attention to detail and on time, if not a couple of weeks early …

I’ve been in my Stroud home since April 2018 and I love it.
I needed a home built on my block in Dorrigo with what I realised afterwards was quite a modest budget, and Yarren was really helpful from start to finish.
I didn’t need a big house, but I didn’t want the finished product to appear too small for the area.
Yarren took an older design from his catalogue and reworked it to my needs and I’ve never looked back. It’s exactly what I wanted.
The whole process was very stress free, notwithstanding a fairly difficult D/A, and a site that was about an hours drive from his office.
The quality of the finished product was excellent ,and the whole look of the place is fabulous. I’m really happy.
I know this is unusual these days, but I can’t find any negatives to speak of.

When we brought our land for our new home we went on the search for the right builder. We have built twice before so had a good idea on what we wanted. Yarren, Erin, Jake and the team were great from our first 100’s of questions before signing the contract to handing over the keys we couldn’t be happier. The workmanship and quality of the build is outstanding. Anything (two minor things only) that came up was handled in a professional manner with a no problem attitude. Loved that Yarren was so flexible and willing to thing outside the square to accomodate what I wanted. Our build came in on the agreed amount and on time despite rain and COVID. I have no hesitation to recommend Yarren and his team to anyone who ask.

From our first contact with the Stroud Coffs Harbour team we knew who we wanted to build our home. Instead of the usual sales pitch, they listened to what we wanted and actually understood our vision for our home.
We were absent for the majority of the build so communication was the key to the success of the build and Yarren, Jake and the team excel at this, sending photos, videos and having the site manager (Jake) tele-conference every Friday. The whole project progressed smoothly, on time and on budget, with a high quality of workmanship.
The Independant Assessor prior to handover is great and provides peace of mind for those of us not up to speed on all the building industry standards and nuiances.

We are very happy with the final product and it was a shame that we couldn’t have the whole team could at handover due to covid restrictions.

We originally began our home with a different company (supposed family friend), the company took our money and only half completed our home. The half they did was not very high in quality either. After a year of messing about with DFT, and insurance we were allocated funds to complete our home. We then started looking for quality builders around our area. We spoke to many people in the industry and the same name kept popping up “Stroud Homes Coffs Harbour”.

Comments we heard were: they are really nice people, they are really known for producing quality, and by far the best around. These were comments made by many trades people, insurance adjusters and even sole trading builders. So we contacted Yarren and began our journey with Stroud Homes Coffs Harbour.
From the very first day Yarren, Erin, Darby and Jake were all extremely professional but also just nice local people who really wanted to help us. They provided us with many choices, options and ideas that were amazing. They stood by everything they said to us and delivered in spades.

Our home was completed quickly and to a very high standard. Even though they had to do a lot of repair work to do fixing all the errors made by the previous builder. If there was ever a problem I could discuss things with Yarren or Jake right away and usually it was sorted immediately.
To be honest I think we were pretty difficult customers, having presented Stroud Homes with a very big task of fixing and finishing our dream home, but they did not shy away from the challenge and exceeded our expectations.

Since having our home completed about 4-5 months ago, I have referred good friends to Strouds, this is something I would never do unless I was not completely behind them. Andrew and I had never built a home before, lots of renovations but no builds. We had looked at other display homes, but couldn’t really find what we wanted or get a connection with a builder. AND then we met Yarren and Darby from Stroud and everything fell into place. They had the exact house we wanted and were able to customise a few things to make the house more us. They listened and made suggestions to help keep within our budget (and still provide us with the house we wanted).

We had heard nitemare stories about how difficult the building process would be and how hard it would be to deal with the tradies , but everything flowed.
