Communication was strong with the Site Supervisor and he ensured we were kept up to date on a weekly basis. They were very compliant and accommodating with any small changes we wished to make during the process, and ensured that final costs were very close to estimates/quotes.

We worked with the Stroud team to take our dream home from some design ideas and concepts to a magnificent reality. They are easy to work with, very professional, organised and run things like clockwork. No promises to pacify you, just realistic committments that they deliver on every time. The whole Stroud team were always available and gave us sound advice and alternate ideas. The site foreman and coordinator is that person which every building company prays for – he is a unicorn. We built from Sydney and got photos and calls every week showing progress and working through challenges. Great communicator, very even tempered, experienced and managed the process to within an inch of its life. My son installed the solar system and does work on high-end builds in Sydney – whilst doing the fit he said that the quality and workmanship visible in the roof cavity alone was of a standard he seldom sees. I hate surprises of the financial kind and set the expectation that everything is upfront about where the variations could be and that if any additional costs were being incurred I knew about them immediately. I am happy to say that we came in within 0.3% of what we were quoted. I give Stroud Homes Port Macquarie the highest recommendation possible. It’s been six months since our family home was completed and we’re over the moon! The Stroud Homes team in Port Macquarie were friendly and professional from the day we walked in the door right through to the final handover.

During the selection process we made some modifications to the original plans to include a guest room downstairs. Joel offered some great suggestions and everything that was promised including a few variations along the way were delivered exactly as expected and on time.

After putting the house through its paces with two young kids, we’ve been impressed with the quality of the structure and fittings. On top of a hill in a high wind area, the house has no creaks, groans or signs of settlement. It’s as solid as rock!

We recently built a new home with Stroud Homes Port Macquarie. The build was completed on time and the home is of a good quality finish. Joel Freeman is an experienced builder and when we suggested changes to the plan of the house, he was able to advise us on the best way to achieve what we were after in a home and whether or not any other changes were necessary, at that time.

We did our colour selections with Roz, an excellent colour consultant who took us to where the tiles, carpet and kitchen furnishings were sold and this made our selection easier. Joel is ably supported by Alla and Allison and contact with them made the process simple and easy.

Cameron’s performance as site supervisor was extremely good in managing the trades. Cameron ensured the build was completed on time and to a high standard. Stroud Homes also has a high level of communication using an app called Voxer, we found this extra level of communication very beneficial.

We would not hesitate to recommend Stroud as your builder.

When we set out to build our “forever home” it was overwhelming visiting all of the different display homes, collecting ideas, talking to sales reps and being promised the world. Stroud Homes Port Macquarie was a relatively new franchise, but from first contact with Sarah in the sales office we knew that we were going to be looked after. We selected a Stroud design then got to work modifying it to meet our requirements. We ended up creating a hybrid version of the original Stroud design, retaining the facade and heavily modifying the internal. Joel’s building expertise and enthusiasm throughout the early design process was one of the deciding factors for us. Nothing seemed too hard. The level of commitment and the amount of time and effort dedicated by Sarah and Joel in fully understanding our requirements while still working within our budget meant that when we got to the build there were no surprises.

Building is a stressful process. There are literally hundreds of decisions to be made. We found the selections day to be overwhelming and we were under-prepared for how intense that process was. On reflection, even though that day was stressful, with 90% of all colour and fixture decisions made on that day, it set up the contract to run smoothly and meant there were no surprise costs mid-build and no delays with supply of fittings and fixtures. The Port Macquarie display home opened as we were finalising contracts and it was comforting to know that everything on display from light fittings, switches, door handles, kitchen finishes, plumbing fixtures, flooring etc was ALL standard inclusion in the build. Unlike other display homes which often show “premium package” fittings in their display homes and catch you out, the standard inclusions for Stroud are on full display so you know exactly what you are getting. Not a single variation was required from the builder throughout the build and Joel often went over and above to ensure the work happening on site was meeting our expectations, including personally sourcing our reclaimed timber feature posts for the front entry and alfresco areas.

We found all of the trades we met on site to have the same level of understanding and patience. Often offering up suggestions if we got stuck picking a colour (grout) or deciding what side of the toilet to put the toilet roll holder on. It doesn’t sound like much, but it is those little interactions that leave a lasting impression and ensured that when the keys were handed over we knew exactly what we were walking into and were extremely happy with the end result.

At the end of the build we received the keys on time. The overall quality of our home is amazing. One year on and there are still no issues. No issues at the end of the maintenance period and only very minor touch-ups required on handover, which were handled professionally and fixed first time. The overall quality of all finishes has exceeded expectations.

We can’t thank Sarah, Joel, Alla, Allison and all the trades that worked on our house. We are truly grateful of the day we chose to build with Stroud and, for all the right reasons, will not need to be a repeat client as Stroud have given us our forever home.

Building with Stroud Homes was an overall excellent experience, especially as we were not in the area for the majority of the build and totally relied on their information / communication.
The quality of the build is very good with no major issues and any smaller ones were dealt with in a very timely matter.
We continually are given very positive comments from passers by, especially to the unique design which is quite different to other new homes in our location.
In terms of costings and build time, all costs were to original estimate and the completion approx 10 days earlier.

I got my first home built by stroud, all the way through the build process they always let me know where the build was up to and kept up to date. They use local trades which is great by keeping it in the area and they all do a amazing job with a quality build spec. Any changes that I wanted to do along the build they had no dramas of working together to changes done. There fixed contracts are really good as there are no hidden fees when it comes to completion. 100% would recommend to anyone wanting to build a home, they have done a amazing job.

We Sam and Maddy living in Portmacquarie-2444 would like to share our Experience with Stroud homes. Stroud homes build our property in Thrumster last year 2018. Everything went smoothly in each and every aspect starting from signing the contract till handovering the building. Stroud homes Portmacquarie completed the construction in a timely manner with all specifications and quality inclusions as mentioned in the builders’ contract and agreement.
Before signing contract with Stroud homes we were attracted and approached another corporate builder because of promotional deal they offered. We paid an initial deposit of $1500 to get plans and specifications.The other builder hides the construction costs in each and every aspect and mentioned some of the items were free in the promotional deal. After paying deposit of $1500 that builder keeps on adding costs even for those promotional items which they mentioned absolutely free.
When we approached Joel director of the Stroud homes he gave the quote black and white without any hidden costs. Besides building construction he also took care of Landscaping, Turfing, Blinds, fencing, ducted air conditioning, Driveway. Both of us working full time and asked Mr. Joel to take care of everything.
Mr. Joel gave us just one quote for each and every item what we needed and most of the builders won’t do all these jobs besides building construction. We have to find different trade persons for the above mentioned jobs. Finding qualified trade persons take lot of time and bit hectic to get invoice for each and every job and we have to exercise lot to follow up. He gave each and every thing as promised in the contract and finished the building beyond our expectation.
The Voxer communication what they offer is really good and gave us up to date information about the various stages of construction with photos.
I never ever regretted for losing $1500 with another builder as the quote i got from Stroud homes is far better than what i got from other builder. We saved couple of thousands by proceeding with Stroud homes. We had made the right decision by proceeding with Stroud homes,Port macquarie.
Both Alla and Joel directors of Stroud homes are very friendly and helped us in each and every aspect. The property was occupied by the tenants from known reference on the next day once we got the keys from Stroud homes. The tenants were so happy with the home and extended their lease by one more year because of the attractive features and quality inclusions given by our Builder.
I leased the property to Tenants without a property manager and tried to manage on my own as i got our tenants from a well known reference. We had got few issues about the maintenance and cleanliness of the property. Mr.Joel advised me to find property manager instead of managing on my own. Once i find the property manager i came to know that my property was maintained by the tenants very well and all issues were sorted. I never forget Joel for the advice he offered me.
Both Alla and Joel were very kind to us and did a good gesture for fixing the dent in our investment property caused by tenants. They also fixed the dent in our own home free of cost even though my own home was constructed by another builder ages ago.
Alla director of Stroud homes is an amazing personality and always respond to customer concerns promptly and quickly. Her attitude towards their customers is always positive and gave me all the information whatever i requested. She always responded to all my queries in a timely manner and very few builders would do like that. She responded promptly to my request and arranged annual inspection of my property to fix the things that comes under builder warranty and maintenance.
Her customer service is beyond my expectation and i never hesitate to recommend Stroud homes because of her exceptional customer service.
