Great homes start in Wollongong

From the very first meeting with Stroud before even receiving their pricing proposal we knew we had found our builder. Their knowledge and expertise at every level of their business was second to none. We cannot thank Jen, Jade, Dean, Cam, Travis and John enough for the beautiful home they have created for us. We had our plans drawn externally before finding Stroud however Stroud were able to make amendments to enhance the functionality of our design.
We built very close to our existing house so was able to meet and watch the workmanship of all trades. We had a disgruntled neighbour who all trades obviously were very accommodating and polite as the neighbour then reached out to me to tell me how good the tradies had been. This was a huge compliment from someone who did not want our build to go ahead. Stroud continued to keep us informed about costs within the build and we were pleasantly surprised with the minor additional expenses by the end. The only thing we regret doing is not engaging Stroud sooner. For anyone who is looking to build a new home my suggestion would be to engage your builder first so they can assist you with the development application process. I’d be happy to talk to anyone who has any questions about using Stroud.

Great build quality, fast build (considering covid and crazy amounts of rain), great communication from Cam and Jen. Always responsive and timely. The process was pretty seamless from beginning to end.

This is our second build and like all builds (especially during covid) we had our disagreements around price rises and additional cost however everyone remained professional and we continued to move forward.

Post build, not too many things to address and everything minor.

Overall we are happy with our home and we are really happy to have chosen Strouds for a quality and fast build.

From quote to build management to completion, the process was seamless. Strouds have a great communication commitment which certainly makes you feel like you are kept in the loop.

We have lived here for 9 months and feel that the quality has been great. Post build, minor fixes were required but done in reasonable amount of time. Nothing significant to be concerned about.

Issues
We built during covid and had disagreements around price increases and additional cost however we believe that most of these were handled professionally even if we didn’t come out on top.
We didn’t enjoy every interaction with every person however the two main people were luckily the best they had.

Houses are a massive investment, and Strouds do well by ensuring great communication and quality. It ensures that you feel that things are always progressing and you don’t feel stressed.

Initial cost v final cost was reasonable in the end.

Such a smooth and stress free process from the initial consultation. Stroud Wollongong were more than happy to work within our budget and needs in our family home. Everything was explained clearly from the beginning of our build process. All staff were really approachable and friendly, no question was a hassle and we always got an answer promptly. Super happy with our locked contract price, and our budget stayed on track. Honestly don’t have anything negative to say. Highly recommended Stroud Wollongong, an amazing team!!

The entire Stroud Wollongong team were fantastic to deal with and extremely well organised. Right from the start, Jared was great and very responsive, nothing was too much trouble and able to really clearly explain what the process looked like and stepped us through everything we needed to do.

You hear lots of war stories about builders, but once we got to the stage of signing contracts, lodging DA’s and starting the build, the rest of the team took over and it really highlighted the whole teams cohesion and expertise.

When you’re not an expert in building, its the little communication things that make a huge difference in giving you peace of mind that all is happening as it should – from Jen’s unprompted updates following up on the DA approval to Cam’s Friday updates on Voxer, we always knew what was going on and never felt a need to check the progress, even if we just loved driving past!

If culture starts at the top, you can really see it with Stroud – Travis is a great guy and it just ripples through the rest of the business. Cam was our site supervisor and was amazing, nothing was ever too much trouble. Whenever we had questions or something wasn’t as expected, Cam just made it happen without blinking (or at least we didn’t see it).

Thanks to the whole team for a great experience, if we had a do-over, we wouldn’t change anything and if we build again it will definitely be with Stroud!

Stroud Wollongong were very professional from our initial meeting, and happily assisted with significant changes we made to the original design (including an attached granny flat). Our build was completed within the contract period, and we are very happy with the quality and finish of our home. This was our 1st build, and despite being warned by many people about potential difficulties with building a home, we are so glad we went ahead and built our dream home with Stroud. It was also great that staff were very personable and responsive, and that we dealt with the same people throughout the build. The weekly Voxer update with photos are very useful in always knowing how the build is progressing.

We are so glad we chose to build with Stroud homes, from our very first meeting we received excellent customer service from Jared and this was a major factor in why we picked Stroud as our builders. We had looked into many builders, whom all told us that they couldn’t design the house that we wanted until we met with Travis at Stroud Homes. Final cost is spot on to estimated cost, only extra is for spoil removal and any slight variations.

The team have delivered a high quality home that we are absolutely in love with and receive so many questions and compliments about. Stroud Homes Wollongong have been a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Their admin staff are polite, responsive, and most importantly they seem to care about the service they provide. The level of industry knowledge within the office is of a high standard and the front end service is great.
With regard to the build itself, the site supervisors provide weekly updates to keep you well informed of progress, and are always happy to answer any questions or attend to any issues throughout the build in a prompt and professional manner. The finished build quality and quality of inclusions are great.

We moved into our amazing Stroud home seven months ago and couldn’t be happier!! The attention to detail and impressive customer service we received was incredible, no phone call/email went unanswered and any question was always promptly followed up.

From the start, Jared and Travis were fantastic in allowing us to turn our custom sketches into working plans and then provide us with a very transparent and reasonable quote. Even dealing with the whole council approvals was such a smooth process thanks to the help of Romina.
Our site supervisor Cam also did such an amazing job keeping on top of the whole build process and constantly keeping us up to date with on site inspections, phone calls and our favourite Voxer updates/photos every Friday.

Everything about building our new home with Travis and his team at Stroud Wollongong was perfect. From the initial planning stages with Travis, Jarred and Belinda to the actual building with Cam and the paperwork with Rom, things could not have been better. Our build was delivered on time and on budget, the quality of our build was top notch and every dealing we had with the team was personal and honest – which we have learned is not always the case. They were very proactive in getting required paper work and clearances for the construction of our house. The overall management of the build was executed with no fuss. We were informed on a weekly basis on the progress of our build. The team at Wollongong were more than accommodating in explaining in detail any question that we had, no matter how intricate or trivial the enquiries were. Our planned visits to the site were not rushed. We were escorted around the home in a timely manner without being rushed through. Travis and the team’s depth of knowledge of the building codes and standards was a great help when explaining the logic behind the building process.

How was the workmanship and build quality of your property? The workmanship was excellent. Throughout the entire process, we never requested Travis and his tradespersons to return and redo the task.

If you had any issues pre, post, or during construction, how satisfied are you with how the company handled them?
We were fortunate that we had built a strong working relationship with Travis and his team that not only did they make us feel inclusive, but we all also had the confidence to discuss any matter that may or might come to the surface.

How did your final cost compare to your estimated cost?
The estimated cost provided by Travis and the team was spot on.

When we first met Travis we had already viewed a multitude of display homes, and had spoken to dozens of new home consultants. But none of them would actually be building our home, and we felt we would never pick a design!

After attending Strouds opening in Wollongong, we knew we wanted to build with Travis, such was the level of customer service. Simply put, the trust we felt in his ability is 100% the reason we built a Stroud Home having never step foot in a display.

We had a tremendous amount of flexibility in customising the design of our home, and no request or question was met with anything but patience, a testament to the man himself because we certainly had a lot of demands!

Building commenced in August 2017, and due to the success of Stroud in it’s opening year, and to ensure our home was delivered as expected, we were introduced to our building supervisor, Dean. And deliver he did! There were some hiccups along the way, but with Dean at the helm we were always informed of our homes progress, and any issues that came up were handled with care and transparency. We actually miss our weekly build updates! Our completion date was set for mid March 2018, however we were ecstatic to receive the keys to our brand new home on the 23rd February 2018.

Since moving in, the service has not stopped. We have communicated some minor issues with Dean and Travis and every time they have resolved them without any reservations.

We built in a new estate and so many of our neighbours who have built with a large company could not tell us fast enough the complaints they had. Our experience could not have been further from theirs, and we would have no hesitation in recommending them to our friends and family. Who knows, hopefully we can build with them again in future (if they would have us)!

To Travis and Dean, and the team at Stroud, we cannot thank you enough for the 100 ways you showed us we were right to trust you to build our home.

We are currently building with Stroud Homes and our experience so far has been a very happy one. From the beginning dealing with Jared and Travis which they have been so helpful and very easy to communicate with. Now that the construction has commenced we get weekly updates and photos on the Voxer app which I think is amazing as we have never had this before when built previously with other companies and Dean our Site Manager has been great to deal with also nothing is a problem and always polite, therefore so far our experience with Stroud Homes has exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend them.
