The food is spectacular, the ambience is just right, there is music to set the mood and there are beautiful tapestries with sequins weaved into them which create a delightful setting

We recently ate at the Bombay Club with friends for the second time in a couple of months and have noticed some minor grievances creeping in.

A few months ago it was the first time eating in at the new location a few doors down and we're talked into ordering an extra entree of their new Tandoori Mushroom dish (from the male manager/owner?). Unfortunately this disappointed us all, the mushrooms were tiny and nowhere near the price put on the dish. Then again on this recent visit he was still pushing this dish hard before finally accepting our decision not to go for this again. Similarly we ordered some Pappadums and mixed pickles to go with these and once again were disappointed with the tiny serving portion of the pickles.

The next issue which we really struggled to comprehend was being charged $14 for a shared plate of plain rice! After ordering a few dishes for the 4 of us to share we just said enough rice for us to share. We received the standard plate of rice (as you would in many Chinese, Indian, Thai restaurants) and all seemed well until we paid the bill and saw what they had charged us for rice; $14!! The amount of rice on the shared plate couldn't have been much more than a standard large takeaway rice (currently priced at $5) so I am astonished at this mark up in price.

Now the quality of the food and flavours in the meals have been fantastic since we have been coming here after moving into the area some 5 years ago. We have mainly ordered take away from here during those years and have not been disappointed, but sadly I think we will now only remain as takeaway customers...

Award winning Indian restaurant. (we hadn't heard any reviews but lived close so decided to try it!) The awards are displayed on the wall of the restaurant. Quaint and sophisticated interior. Well mannered staff. My boyfriend and I go to a lot of indian restaurants (we are from the uk and are in search of a good curry place). This one was above our expectations food wise. My boyfriend goes for the hot curries and was happy with the heat (in some places you say 'very hot' and it comes out mild...) Only slightly over-priced and it's worth it for the quality. I had chicken tikka masala, very rich in flavour and tasty tandoori chicken!

I was interested in going here as I had read reviews of this place in the Godd Food Guide and there are not so many Indian places mentioned plus it is in my local area. Being on busy North Rd is a bit tricky for parking at times, however we found the food excellent. The decor is quite elegant and the lighting subdued with very well-mannered service. The prices are a bit higher than your average Indian food but I do think it also better quality, so worth it. My partner has tried lots of Indian curries around the world and he raved about the one he ate, so give it a try!

This is an all time favourite of mine. The prices are very reasonable and the food is fantastic. The restaurant is a little small but it is rather cosy and quaint. Great place for take away on a Friday night. It seriously is a gem in an arcade.

This is a family business. The food here is great! Always fresh and the staff here are really friendly too! yummmmmm!

Bombay Club is good but nothing amazing as far as Indian food goes. However, I do find the prices quite reasonable and the take away is quite quick. The staff are really nice as well.

good variety of food. I am vegetarian, and have been to many restaurants but the food here is by far the best. I have only been there a couple of times but definately paln to go again
