We joined family here for a birthday lunch celebration. Disappointed with my meal here this time. Admittedly I chose the special roast of the day. However the meat needed to have been cooked longer. Overall enjoyed the atmosphere and the location so will return another time.

Ordered a platter for two, but were advised that a third person was not allowed to touch it and they tried to justify it by saying this was like a buffet. Obviously it wasn't as only LIMITED food was provided, ie. same amount of food regardless if 1 or 100 people. What other place have you ever ordered a platter and they wouldn't allow you to share? We never asked for more food, we just like to share our food. Anyway, both the waitress said the chef said no to sharing this LIMITED amount of food. So we will NOT recommend your establishment to anyone. In fact, we'll give negative feedback regarding our experience if anyone should ask.
Following on, the waitress wasn't any better. She rolled her eyes when we sat down advising her there would be a third person and she had started packing away the other set of cutlery. But she was 'better' when she realised we weren't happy intended on writing this long complaint. Management blasted us for being ridiculous customers within a minute of us posting a very unhappy complaint on Facebook. My issue with this is that they were on Facebook during business hours. Don't they have work to do? Also, as mentioned already, what other establishment would berate their customers if one of their friends joined their table, regardless of if they were eating the LIMITED food or not?
It was like arguing with a brick wall, they just didn't understand where we were coming from. They mentioned that this was the first of this type of complaint made. There's always a first for everything, else what I think is that other customers that had a bad experience didn't even bother with criticism and just didn't ever return

Enjoyed having a bistro meal here at the Cove Tavern. Nicely presented area with friendly staff. The menu is suitable for all the extended family too. The steak was very enjoyable and it certainly makes a family get together an easy option as our family live nearby

Our friends recently moved to the area and really wanted to try a meal here. We met up with them for lunch and we all were very impressed with the service, dining area and of course our meals. With such an extensive menu, it took some time for us to decide. Delicious fresh oysters, succulent rump steak, prawn risotto, chicken schnitzel and salt and pepper squid were our final decisions. Everyones meals were perfect, great presentation and generous servings were the go.

We will probably be returning for Melbourne Cup.

Our son's family lives in Hallett Cove and we recently had a meal at the Cove Hotel. Well priced meals served by friendly staff in a nice setting. It is suitable for all ages including our preteen grandchildren. My husband and I enjoyed the chicken schnitzels which were nicely cooked. Look forward to coming again.

We love going to the Hallett Cove Tavern, the meals are well priced and are very tasty. I personally love the chicken breast dish with the hollandaise sauce and avocado. They have different specials through out the week eg: steak night Wednesday etc. The staff are friendly and will go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience.

The food here is very good and the service great. They have great front bar specials too. The front bar is OK, would be better if it had a good beer garden. They have a reasonably priced bottle shop and the pokies room is good with friendly staff.

One of the best pubs for a meal. High quality and good range of food. sevice was good, Only downfall was trying to get a park close by.

Have been coming here for years. The service has always been good. The food is varied and consistent and the prices are more than reasonable - what you would find in most pubs.

this place has improved greatly in the last couple of years. The service we got was fantastic, especially from Jess. The food was lovely and price was reasonable.
