Total waste of time Some of their listings were sold over a year ago.
The agent told me this was sold over a year ago.

Allhomes is a great place to advertise in Canberra but as a private seller there are lots of glitches that need correcting. You cannot save your information as you go to list unless you pay the full amount. BUT - as soon as you pay your listing goes live therefore you need to be ready with all information, documents and photos to upload. This is several hours work and it would be better if you could do it over a few sessions. The biggest downside is the description box does not show paragraph and spacing so your neat paragraphs become become one big blurb with no spacing. You cannot see the final result unless you pay so you are expected to take a leap of faith that your original text and spacing will be in the final copy. Once you pay you cannot stop it going live and Allhomes won't suspend the listing (only for exceptional circumstances). So you have to be ready with everything, have faith and pay that your description comes out how you wrote it. Allhomes please allow work to be saved and initiate some end user permission to decide when their listing is ready to publish. Also, I advise people to ring Allhomes and not use email support - you go around in circles and it takes days to get info or action.
Allhomes.com is the perfect way to search for that new home you want, or even if you are looking to rent or share. The information is very useful, and lots of pictures are included of any house for sale, as well as sometimes the floor plan of the house so you can see how it is laid out. It's very helpful in narrowing down your choices in looking for a home.
I've used allhomes.com.au every time I've moved and it's great. Allhomes takes the fuss out of renting, sharing and buying in Canberra. The only thing I wish is that all Real Estate agents would take advantage of features such as putting up their showing times etc.
The listings are mostly comprehensive and very user friendly. Although it is hard to get prompt response from the agents or the owners. Really appreciate the options of contacting some owners without the need to go through agents.
This site's listings are usually very comprehensive. We recently bought a house that we found on this site, which the owner had listed privately. It was great to be able to cut out the 'middle man' of an agent, and what a great way for the vendor to advertise without too much upfront cost or locking into contracts.
This is the best real estate website I have ever come across, it covers both rental and sales. It has a lot of information about the houses listed (and most houses in the ACT area are listed on this site)
