My daughter's cello (on loan from her school) needed some emergency repair work on Sunday afternoon, in time for her school orchestra rehearsal the next morning. All the strings shops that I contacted were closed (understandably), however Deitrich agreed to meet me at a specified time to help me out.
Not only was he extremely friendly and accommodating, but he even performed the repair free of charge. Amazing !!!
I will certainly be returning at the end of the year when I need to purchase a cello for her !!

I am a professional violinist, and I have been going to Animato for my violin needs for nearly 10 years. Dietrich and the team have always been great. Friendly helpful folk, with expert advice, sales and repairs. They have everything you'll need for violin (and viola, cello and bass). Very good prices, probably the cheapest in Brisbane. I always look forward to visiting Animato!!

My violin teacher advised that the violin I bought from Animato for my daughter was too big and that the bow was bent. I sent back the bow and the replacement was just as crooked. The bow then snapped having only been used 4 times. The second replacement bow is straight and has been fine. On the positive side, Animato replaced the bow twice without hesitation even though I hadn't yet posted the original one back. Price was similar to other stores.

I just wanted to tell you how happy I am with my beautiful new cello. I love it. I really like the sound of it and it looks beautiful as well. Thank you so much for packing it with such care and for delivering it to my nephew. It arrived in excellent condition. If I come to Brisbane I will come and visit Animato. Thank you again.

I just had my double bass repaired, fantastic service, awesome, friendly service, and I am very impressed with the repair. The price was exceptionally good value as well, and to top it of Dietrich even gave me a lift to the bus stop to avoid risking damaging my bass again. All in all I doubt the service quality could be matched better by anyone. I intend to keep going there.

Animato strings is an emporium of everything for the orchestral string play, and a bit more besides. Dietrich is a wonderful character with incredible passion for his products, a tour of his workshops was all part of the service. I bought a double bass for my son who is starting out, and was surprised that there was an appropriate instrument in stock and was prepped ready for collection (or indeed delivery) in two days – I was expecting 2-3 weeks at best. Prices were extremely competitive and for a beginners instrument the sound is rich and full. Highly recommended!
