The salesman was very helpful when I purchased my HiAce SLWB van. Can’t say the same for the service staff. At the one month check, they ran my vehicle Into the bumper of a hiLux. The staff member was more concerned about telling the Hi Lux owner, than the rear panel they had damaged on my month old Van.
I was promised a suitable vehicle (a Rav 4), while they had mine fixed. This was so I could transport my disabled Son, and his wheelchair. When I arrived to pick up the Rav 4 I was told “this is all we have, the Rav 4 didn’t come back.” It’s this or nothing!”
Basic Customer Service skills, empathy, understanding of disability, are not things the service staff I spoke to at Coburg Toyota, seem to understand or possess!
My “oh what a feeling!” experience evaporated even further when the Service Manager, told me the Dealer Principal was aware of my dissatisfaction, and if I wanted to speak with him I had to “put it in an email”.
OH WHAT A FEELING!
Going from the joy of a brand new van for my Son, to having a van that has been damaged in less than 30 days (and not by me) and customer service that leave you questioning your choice of dealership.

and NO the Dealer Principal didn’t contact me, even after I asked the Service Manager to have him do so.

5 year old Hilux that we thought would be good for300,000kms had a blown engine at 98,000km - despite full service history at this dealership. Were told problem was starter motor, then injectors then eventually that number 4 cylinder had gone. Why wasn't compression test done first??? Cost thousands to get vehicle back. Took elsewhere for replacement engine. Disgusting service. Not happy and won't ever be back.

I had a very poor experience from Anthony smith Toyota. I have a quote from them and they requested to pay $500. I paid $500 and I have not sign the contract. Because of financial issues I could not buy that car and they refused to give money $500. So they are very dodgy and very careful dealing with them

We have bought several cars from this dealer, two brand new cars and three dealer demo models with low km, I just love to drive Toyotas the best cars ever our first Tarago did 660,000km and that was with a husband who didn't look after our cars, you can always beat them down on price the cars have been great, I have a small problem with their service dept. they tell me my car is due for sevice at whatever kms or a date whichever is first, as I drive my car very little this would mean I would probbly have a sevice every 2,000kms and the guy I deal with argues with me and says yes you should have it done on the date if that comes first I'm sorry but I'm not paying for sevices I don't need and what's worse if you take your car in and they say it was due for 40,000km service and you have only done 20,000kms they mark thart it was the 40,000km service so I am thinking of taking my car elsewhere for servicing

All dealers are like that...they make a lot more money out of servicing vehicles than selling them...

I bought my new Corolla from Anthony Smith Toyota last week. The sales there was very professional, no hard selling, no stress dealing with them. Because the color I ordered was not in stock, I was told around a week to get the car. But the manager there was very helpful, I ended up picking up my car 3 days earlier than I expected. I had a careful look around the car and found no scratch at all. BTW, my car is running well, love it. Will definitely bring it back for service even though I'm quite far away from them. Happy experience.
