The Wavell heights centre is terrible. Staff turn over so quickly, they offer bare minimum interaction with kids. They also terminate lessons early and stand around chatting, will not be returning after over twelve months of perseverance.

Approximate cost: $26

The instructors are fabulous.

The administration side of the business is very grubby. There is a real lack of focus on the kids and the swimming. It's all about their profit and extracting as much as they can.

Gumdale Aquatic Achievers - The teachers are good but the lesson area is small and when there is 3+ kids they don't get much of the 30mins. We timed one lesson and our child got 8 min 20 sec engagement including group activity out of 30 mins. The rest of the time she sat on the side waiting, not allowed to play with the toys.

Approximate cost: $25

My children moved to this swim school almost a year ago. I have found them very accommodating and I can get my three children all in lessons at once. The kids love the play pool (probably more than their lessons). Two of my three kids have amazing instructors and I couldn't be happier. It is a little bit of a hike to the swim school from the car park. I think the lessons are a little bit more expensive than other schools, but as the lessons progress they get longer and better value for money. My third child is 1/2 price too. The staff are friendly and my children are seeing results.

Very good approach to infant learn to swim. Would strongly recommend for children of any age who could not swim or did not feel comfortable in the water. Some of the classes for older kids felt a bit ordinary and some teachers uninspiring. We ended up moving both of our children to another school, but my daughter did come back for a while when she was swimming at club level.
