I recently purchased a SM-1440B Lathe from Asset Plant & Machinery. After reviewing a range of lathes the 1440B was the best equipped and best value of the lathes under consideration. I have been very impressed with the lathe and it has exceeded my expectations. I did need to do a couple of adjustments to the lathe post delivery but nothing outside what an experienced machinist would know to do. I have been using the machine with a wide range of materials including stainless and it is extremely repeatable and accurate. My only negative is this machine is so well optioned up with quick change tool post etc but does not come with a drill chuck. This ruins what is otherwise almost the perfect machine package.Well done to Dave and the team at Asset Plant.
