I bought a 2016 gibson SG Standard from Audiobuy early this year. Was quite a stressfull experience as i thought i was getting ripped off. No conformation email, no receipt, phone goes to message service and is not responded to, Site was down immediately after order placed... I was going to lodge a paypal dispute but paypal stated that this company usually resolves issues without dispute. I sent PW an email requesting tracking details and received a response that he was unable to provide it due to technical difficulties. After another two emails he finally provided the tracking info however the courrier used only showed activity up until the product left the US. I received my guitar albeit one month from purchase. Had a few minor issues - nothing unusual for Gibson though. But I wasn't about to send it back was I... My advice to others is buy from a local store. If you have any issues you can deal with them in person. You will get a warm fuzzy feeling because you supported a local business which is much better that the feeling of anxiety whilst waiting to find out whether or nit you have been reamed by a scammer. I saved around $500 buying my SG, but in hind sight I would have been better coughing up for more and not having the hassle.

Poor communication from seller. My order never dispatched and the web page for AudioBuy South Africa appears to have been taken down. It has been more than a month since I have placed my order. I do not have the item and all my refund requests have been ignored.

My order says shipped but I have had a single response via email or phone in regards to asking about tracking. Prove me wrong guys, if you cant, I will be writing 1 star reviews on every website I can think of and chasing a refund down through Paypal.
It's a scam. Lodge a PayPal claim before it's too late. It's a shell company operating out of NY, USA. The websites are down, so I reckon he's taking the money and running.
I placed an order on 15th August and did not get any confirmation of the order being processed so I sent an email a week later and was told the item would be available in 20 days. Waited the 20 days and still no confirmation of the order being sent. I have sent 3 further emails and requested a refund but have not had a single reply anyone at Audiobuy. The Australian phone number listed on the site is never answered and my emails are ignored so I have no way of contacting Audiobuy to try and get my money back. I have since had to seek help from PayPal to try and get my money back. Be very wary of this website.

5 months ago (April 2016) I paid for a specialist Godin Guitar. $1290 USD
The UPS tracking number shows it was never delivered (possibly even never made Australia.) CJ509066189US
5 months later, no Guitar , no refund, company ignores calls, emails, directions from Fair Trading and we're now heading to court. My suggestion is to look for any other importer at all .. this one cares nothing for their customers!

More research and I find they do not even have an Australian Business number (ABN) which is mandatory to run an Australian business. It is shonky, they are grey importers who hold no stock. There business address is a sham. Am compiling research for both Fair Trading and ACCC... will post information as it comes to hand
It's just one guy operating out of the US. He "sent" me my guitar twice, and it was sent back to his address both times. Takes him a month to "send" it each time.
Websites are down. Emails are unattended.
I bought a pickup and received an email saying I would be informed of the tracking number once packed to ship. 4 working days later I received a refund from Paypal from audiobuy. I'm extremely frustrated that I had no contact from the company in 4 days to advise me of the reason why this happened. No email saying no stock prevent a phone call considering I had to give my phone number. I now don't know whether that item is ever going to be available and have no choice but to take my business elsewhere.
Without providing a valid order number we cannot view the order details/history. From your description It sounds like we refunded your payment shortly after it was made due to backorder or delay.

Did a best-price Google search for a guitar that I am interested in. Audiobuy came up with a really good price. Thought, what the heck, at this price I'll take the risk to buy from an unknown online seller (and then there still is buyer protection with PayPal...). Ordered, created account, paid, received confirmation email and PayPal invoice, money was transferred (transaction status was "completed" in PayPal. Prices on website are in AUD (Order total AUD 442), according to disclaimer company operates under Australian Consumer Laws. but PayPal payment was in USD and and my debit card was charged with AUD 456, however that was still a very good price for the guitar, so at that time, I did not really care. Nothing further happened, after a couple of days, I sent an email, asking for an update regarding order status – was ignored. A few days ago, when checking into my PayPal account, I realized the money had been refunded. No communication, explanation, apologies whatsoever. But the money had been refunded in USD, and converted back to AUD this was only AUD 422. I then contacted the seller again, was then informed that order had not been processed because of a pricing mistake, and a full refund had been sent. My reply that the deal had been in AUD and that I was still AUD 24 short was ignored. So I have now lost 24 dollars because the seller made a pricing mistake...
So my fellow musicians out there, be careful. One can't really know whether an advertised price is real, or a "pricing mistake", and if it is the latter, you might end up without the goods AND lose money.
Update 29 Sept 2016: Lodged a complaint with the NSW Office of Fair Trading, but surprise, surprise, nothing they can do since the merchant is in US, ignores their communications, and doesn't even have an ABN. So if you order there, get your goods, and they work, you might, with some luck, save a few bucks. But if anything goes wrong, you will find yourself screwed without having much leverage.

So far I have purchased a Tech 21 Fly Rig RK5 and an EHX MEL9 Tape Replay Machine. Price was the best in Australia and the communication was fantastic. It may take time to deliver but always worth the wait. Paul the manager does respond to emails. I will remain a customer.
