If I could give this company 0 stars I would.

My housemate and I booked this company to do an end-of-lease clean. The initial cleaner - who arrived late - did an unbelievably poor job. Tiled floors left grubby, skirting boards not cleaned, kitchen left grubby and - worst of all - created NEW stains on the carpets they were supposed to clean. Here’s a detailed breakdown provided by the real estate agent:

- Carpet stains to be removed
- Downstairs windows have not been cleaned
- Venetian blinds to kitchen have not been cleaned
- Tiled floors downstairs have not been cleaned well
- Splash back and oven have been cleaned but seem to have been wiped with a grimy cloth leaving smears / streaks
- Skirting boards pretty much all through have not been dusted
- Rear bedroom window frames to be wiped – the black marks easily come off
- Rear ensuite fan needs to have cover removed and cleaned
- Front bedroom ensuite needs IXL lamp dusted
- Front bedroom air con filters to be cleaned
- Louvres to shutters front bedroom to be dusted

We contacted the company with these items and after several attempts, they responded to our requests and agreed to return to do the job properly. Different cleaners – three this time - returned to address the issues identified and, once again, the property was left dirty, the stains caused by the initial cleaner not removed, and in fact NEW stains had been caused on another section of carpet.

Understandably the real estate was once again not pleased with the standard of the end of lease clean. Here’s the second list of things done poorly, which we forwarded onto the company to rectify as per their 100% satisfaction guarantee:

- Upstairs bedroom carpet stain
- Downstairs living room carpet stain
- Flooring throughout is quite dirty however in particular the kitchen
- Skirting are still dusty
- Kitchen blinds still dusty
- Laundry sink stained
- Upstairs shower grimy

By this point 4 cleaners had come through the property, and it STILL wasn’t done properly. After emails and several phone calls were ignored we finally got in touch with them over the phone and they now refuse to finish the job/fix the damage they caused or give us our money back. In fact, after proposing these option my housemate was hung up on.

After paying over $500, we’re now going to lose some of our bond as the real estate agent now has to arrange a competent cleaning company to finish the job.

Tell everyone you know this company is completely inept and are not to be trusted. The only thing they are good at, it seems, is to scam people out of their money.

Any good review is a hoax

After our first contact with Austral cleaning, we were very confident they would help us out with our bond cleaning. Being very pregnant I couldn’t do it myself. Communication started quite well, however In the end they didn’t live up to their promises. We were never notified that the job was finished, we found our belongings outside when we passed the house. We sent out an email for clarification, as I didn’t want to place a bad review. Unfortunately we never got a response for Austral cleaning. Through the realestate we found out that floor were still sticky and mirrors still dirty. Extremely disappointed with the service considering the money we paid.

I asked for a quote which asks you what suburb you live, how many bedrooms etc.
After the the lady told me they wouldn’t be able to reach 2 metres after they climbed on a ladder and that they might add more time to the clean on inspection we agreed and I confirmed the clean, date and time.
Come Friday (uplift day) I thought I’d email her in the morning to confirm the cleaners were still coming the next day. Then I get a reply that said I never gave them the address so she’d have to check for available cleaners (suburb was given on quote request)
I didn’t hear back until very late in the afternoon that unfortunately there were no cleaners available that day even after we confirmed date and time a week earlier.
By this point it was too late to call someone else as we were flying interstate on Sunday morning. We had no choice but to do the clean ourselves with 3 kids as we have no family in Brisbane. Luckily the neighbours were kind enough to lend us their large ladder and vacuum cleaner or we’d be stuffed!

Only thing this company is good at is ripping people off. They are runny a scam. They will ask for advance booking but won’t do the job and won’t even return your money. I booked them for bond cleaning, which they said because it is a Sunday job they would require advance payment. Which I did, the company took full responsibility for the money as I was reluctant to pay the full amount in advance. On the Sunday the cleaner, did not show up and ever since ..not even picking the phone up. And not returning my money, all 435$ gone …just like this.

I wouldn’t recommend this business... no cleaning standards.
I had to go around the apartment and clean the walls/ floors / microwave/ light switches, floor still looked dirty.
I also had to chase up my receipts as i needed them for the real estate agent.
Also my balcony was not included in the clean and I had to do that myself also.
The website says ‘will make your life easy’, ‘satisfaction guaranteed’.
Waste of $300 will not be recommending!

WOW! I cannot reccommend Austral Cleaning enough, our little flat was completley transformed it was like walking into a newly built apartment. The carpet, walls & oven looked brand new - stains that we couldn't remove ourselves dissapeared! I cannot thank Bruna, Raj & Sunkeety enough, they were absolutley amazing. Whoever says moving is stressful needs to use Bruna, Raj & Sunkeety, Thank you so much!

Our apartment was left filthy after Austral's poor cleaning job. They returned for a 'fix up clean', carrying only one mop and a tub of bleach (no sponges, wipes, vaccuum etc). They used our own cleaning products and took them with them when they left. Hair was left everywhere, the oven was dirty and the walls were not wiped. Austral provided terrible customer service and said it was not their problem. Austral outsources to local cleaners - in our case, not only did they do a poor job, they failed multiple times to turn up to our property when agreed and were uncontactable. We lost our bond money, and were forced to pay for cleaners from a different company. We lodged a case with the ACCC. Next stop, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
