Do NOT use Five Star Trades under any circumstances! My mother engaged them to deal with a blocked stormwater drain. Five Star told her that it was impossible to snake out the drain and insisted on digging a hole, mounting a pump, then pumping the water UP to the street. They did two things wrong:
1) They did not do proper investigation to see if the existing drain could be cleared.
2) They failed to install a non-return valve near the pump.

As a result of this very expensive failure, water in the pipe would oscillate all day (and night) long as the pump emptied the pit, shut off, then refilled with the enormous amount of water in the pipe.

The cost of the job was $7,500.00.

I engaged a proper plumber, who put a camera down the existing drain pipe, snaked out the roots, installed a non-return valve on the pipe and placed a proper drain in the backyard. All in all, a professional job. Cost: $1,500.00.

NEVER use Five Star Trades. Hopeless and very expensive.

Several years ago I used this company and was very satisfied. However last week I rang and followed the directions which were to leave details and "you will receive a call very soon". Several hours later I rang again and got the same response and left yet another message. That was 4 days ago. Still no response. Not impressed.

I needed an electrician to come out to fix a light fitting, and these guys were prompt, pleasant to deal with, and willing to talk me through some other issues I have been contemplating fixing. His advice was helpful, relatively unbiased, and quickly fixed the initial call out problem. These guys also have other tradespeople in other trades on hand, and promise same day service.

i think that they did a good job. they were able to come on time to fix the problem. the price was ok and i liked how they gave me a period of guarentee.

Use them for repairing the hot water system, they are able to come on time and fix it on the day. The job is quite pricy. Though they provide 7 days guarantee, will use them again only if in emergency.
