I really love the zoo, I have been three times, first time I took my granddaughters and they loved it, watching the croc show and getting to have a photo with a Koala made their day, second time I went with my mum and we decided to use the train thingy that gives you a lift from place to place, craters for everyone!

Took kids here, it is a great zoo. Bit expensive but the wife doesn't mind price because she says they put it back into the zoo for caring of animals. Something for everyone, I love the croc shows, wife like safari section. Kids love the baby animals and walking through the enclosed sanctuary.

Kids and I love Aus zoo. Such a great family day out and lot to do! We went to the safari section first and so glad we did as it gets quite hot very fast. Recommend starting at the top of the park and working your way down and take lots and lots of water!

We have purchased an annual pass to the zoo and love it! There is so much to see and do! The zoo is well looked after and a pleasure to stroll around. We take our own drinks and snacks as food at the kiosk is very expensive.

We went here for Bindis Birthday when kids were free, which was a excellent day out, we steered clear of the main events and it didnt seem as busy as it was its a well designed zoo so everything is easy to find.

This zoo is amazing and has to be one of our families favourites! It is a huge huge zoo and I highly recommend going to the safari part at the start of the day before the heat gets too much in the afternoon. LOVE the elephants and feeding them! So many shows and of course the croc shows = amazing. Fairly expensive but they put it back into the zoo so I don't mind paying the $$

A very well organised and maintained zoo. We had a great time walking around and looking at all the animals. Shaded resting stations along the way were welcome as it was quite warm. Hopped on the free shuttle at it's last stop before returning to the zoo entrance. We bought our tickets from RAA Travel and only paid $53 each (entry at gate is $59) and if you don't use your ticket for some reason, take it back to RAA for a refund when you come home.

Took the kids here on a beautiful day. Lots to see and do. Our feet were tired from walking around but their is a tour bus that takes you around the complex. Lots of shows to watch, animal feedings,if you're lucky you see Bindy or Terry or Robert during a show. Good food in the cafes but a bit exe.lots of souvenirs and things for the kids to stick their heads in to take pics. Courtesy bus from beerwah train station. Lots of parking. Go early and experience it all. Entry starts at $59 adults,$35 fir kids up to 14,then its student prices

Came here with a group of friends and loved it. They have animal shows which are amazing, particularly the famous croc shows. The zoo is very hands on and you can hug koalas, feed kangaroos and get lots of photo opportunities. The way the enclosures are designed you get quite close to them and it's a great experience. Loved everything about the zoo and can't wait to go back.

Extensive range of animal displays, shows and information available. The group of kids we took loved the show in the Crocoseum, and kangaroo feeding particularly. It's quite a long way to walk (or push a wheelchair!) on a hot day, so the 'train' is a welcome opportunity to sit and travel.

WOW what a fantastic place to visit, so much to do and see here and the staff are all so friendly. We have been a few times now and each time we go we see it grow bigger and bigger, our last trip they had added the Africa part and it really does feel like you've stepped off a bus in the middle of Africa. Great family day and would highly recommend to everyone of all ages.

We have always lived on the Sunshine Coast, So the zoo has always been at the tip of our fingers, But the one thing preventing us going very often is the PRICE. It is so expensive! No "average" family can afford $200+ just for ENTRY into the zoo!! let alone the price of meals, food and drinks etc. My kids love animals and we would love to go more often but money is the one thing stopping us

Approximate cost: $200

I agree. Wouldn't it be nice to have a special 'locals' rate? I think there is a special year long membership available for families but that is still expensive.

We were luck enough to visit when Steve Irwin was still alive & got to see him do a interactive show with the crocs....it was amazing. It is quite expensive now, which is a pity coz I'd love to take my kids but its not really affordable for us to go.

We have enjoyed all of our visits to Australia Zoo over time. I went here with my now husband on one of our first dates. I like that parking tends to be a bit easier than it is at the Gold Coast theme parks. I haven't been for a little while now so I'd love to go back and see some of the upgrades others are discussing!

The zoo surrounds are very pleasant. The animal enclosures were generally good, although some did appear a bit small.

This is a smaller zoo and they only have a small variety of animals but the way they have split the park is very clever - making it a journey through world habitats.

The zoo train is excellent and we used it to get into Africa to start our journey.

The morning elephant feeding was a highlight. Two of the elephants come up to the fence and patrons can feed them out of their hands. You can do it over and over again if you wish.

The koala section was great, allowing you to pat a koala.

The stadium show was a highlight. It was educational and entertaining.

The philosophy of this zoo is vastly different to most. The animals are tamed and trained to be able to interact with humans.

Have now visited Australia Zoo three times. Never has it disappointed me or my family. The land it is situated is vast and beautiful. The grounds are well maintained and the variety of animals is second to none, it is a great opportunity to view animals from around the world. Great and plentiful amenities throughout. Our favourite part was the croc show in the crocoseum, you get to interact with the animals and the show is spectacular, if not nail biting when they get so close to the crocs. All the staff throughout the Zoo are friendly and very knowledgable about the animals, and will always stop and talk to the kids with interest and enthusiasm. If I had to come up with one negative aspect, it would be that there is so much to see that you really need to plan your day properly to get the most from it; because there is so much to do and see! It is a great legacy to the late Steve Irwin, and a must see experience.

A zoo trip is always what you make it!

I was expecting for Australia Zoo to be boring, commercial and over the top.

I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my day a lot. I loved the surroundings and lushness of the gardens and grounds. Enjoyed the main event show and was fascinated by the birds part - absolutely beautiful!

Crocodile part was interesting and in amongst the "showmanship" it was educational and "real" enough. Best part was watching the support people keeping their eyes on everything ready to help avoid any incidents with the crocs and usher the "actors" to safety. Made it all more believable and showed the respect and care one must have with "wild" animals.

The tigers display was fascinating and beautiful and again you could see the respect the keepers had of these majestic beasts.

Plan your time so you get to be in the places you want to be on time. Avoid the temptation to purchase the touristy type stuffed toys, but if you do - remember money hopefully ends up helping the animal protection efforts made for endangered and rare species.

Only disappointment was "feed the elephant" as children qued up for such a brief encounter - far more enjoyed seeing the elephants parade around the arena later.

Couldn't agree more - very well said! I believe profits from the merchandise are re-invested in Wildlife Warrior campaigns, definitely a worthwhile cause

We decided to visit Australia zoo while holidaying on the gold coast as we had heard how good it was. For the price we paid to get in i found it to be quite disappointing. We found it to be no different to other zoos we had been to. We thought there would be alot more interaction with the animals than what there was. My daughter did get to pat a koala which she loved. We went to watch the wildlife warriors at the crocoseum and quite enjoyed that. The thing i found the worse was that you could get lost very easily and miss a lot of the animals if you take a wrong turn.
We had dinner at the food court, the food was good but bit pricey. overall i expected a bit more than what we seen for the $130 we paid for 2 adults and a child.

I have always found plenty of staff walking around with animals and birds to pet. The animal petting nursery is great. There are maps provided to locate the different venues and shows.

The park itself is really quite beautiful. It's well run and they have a high respect and love for the animals. They also intend to educate on endangered species as well as the dangers of some animals and what to do if you find yourself in strife. They have many photo opportunities and chances to cuddle some cuddlies and scalies including koalas, snakes, and baby crocs. You can also feed and pay the elephants. A great place to take the kids but an absolute killer on the wallet. I would go out on a limb by saying this is the most expensive park in Australia. It's certainly the dearest I've attended.

This zoo is extremely large and hard to get through in one day with kids but the shows are great, the staff all enthusiastic to be there. The animals seem to have large areas to roam which is good. The food and drinks are expensive but I expect that as all bigger entertainment places are like that.

I went to Australia Zoo many years ago, not long after Steve Irwin passed away. I had a fantastic day, so much to see and it was great to see the animals in such a natural safe environment with plenty of room for them. I had a smile on my face from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. The only downside is the food/drink prices are very expensive.

I visited Australia zoo about two years ago with my husband and two small boys not long after steve Irwins death. we were able to view all of the tributes that were left to him and the huge display of his life consisting of photos & memorabilia. It was very moving. As for the zoo, it really is big! The highlights for us were the elephants and the reptile enclosure although it was all really cool. There are alot of different places to choose from to buy food & beverages but it was all very expensive. scattered through out the zoo are rest rooms, resting areas & parks with play equipment to keep the kids happy. My childrens favourite was definitely the petting zoo where they can feed the baby animals and be very hands on. Overall was a great experience.

Australia Zoo is awesome. At first I thought the $47 concession for entry was excessive, but once inside I enjoyed every moment. My aim is to become more involved with the zoo and I look forward to many more visits.
