I’m not usually one to leave a review or recommendation, but Barefoot Physiotherapy is so outstanding I could not go on without publicly praising them.

I injured my ankle a few years ago playing touch and being a young student at the time decided to forgo seeking treatment. This was a huge mistake and over the years not only did my ankle never heal, but my body adjusted to compensate – which only caused more issues and pain. I decided to finally seek help and after trying two other physiotherapists nothing seemed to be working. Luckily for me, I stumbled across Barefoot online and based on their approach decided to give them a crack.

During my first appointment, we did a very thorough overview of my specific injury, my whole body, my day-to-day experience and what I wanted to eventually achieve physically. I was pleasantly surprised at how in-depth this process was and how the results from this meeting alone drastically improved my injury. Following my appointment, I was assigned exercises that were practical, manageable and most importantly enjoyable. What’s better was that were I to be under the weather or get bored, I could easily interchange or intensify my exercises.

Over the next few months I saw my physiotherapist, Sal, many times. Every appointment I went to was reactive and based on progression. Depending on my adventures between appointments, my treatment and exercises were modified to ensure I saw and felt improvements with every visit. During busy weeks where I was unable to train as much as I would have liked, I never felt any guilt coming to see Sal because she understood that life is complex and I knew that between her expertise and confidence in me, we would be back on the horse in no time.

For over a month now I’ve been using specialised training equipment Barefoot lent me, free of charge. By comparison, I know physio’s that charge for tape! What’s more, as my ankle improved I needed less and less appointments – a sign of true dedication to the patient.

What has made Barefoot truly stand out however, is that I am treated as more than a simply customer. Sal was (and still is) incredibly attuned and sincerely dedicated to ensuring that I not only continue to improve my ankle’s condition, but that I also live a genuinely good life.
During my time here, Sal and the team at Barefoot have treated me like family. I always look forward to our appointments where I am not only expertly and professionally treated but enjoy meaningful conversation and a sharing of our experiences. Sal’s outlook on life and problem-solving talents even helped me gain a new perspective regarding my own future pathway.

I could continue this review with the many specific moments and features that make Barefoot Physiotherapy the virtuous establishment it is, but for the sake of anyone reading this I’ll sum up by saying: they don’t just treat the injury, they treat the person; and Barefoot has treated me very, very well.

I’m off for a pain-free run (because I can do that now).

After having a limited response from another physiotherapy provider, I decided to switch to barefoot after reading such good reviews. All I can say is they are amazing! I had constant nerve pain from injury and I can say today I'm pain free. They have a very different approach to any other physiotherapist and adopt an holistic approach. Completly one on one for the entire session,( no leaving you on the tens machine) Cherelle is my physiotherapist and will 100% listen to all of your concerns. She is also great a communicating to other parties involved in your treatment such in my case as Excercise physio, remedial masseuse & personal trainer. Worth every cent, they will get you back to what you love doing in no time.

Approximate cost: $165

Well worth the money. Cherelle and Sal are incredible. Really go the extra mile. I've had a bad back for over 10 years and this flare up was the worst, they had me back feeling fine quick! And now I've started a strength program to prevent it coming back. Thank you so much.

Very thorough physios, quite different from any others I've been to. Got me back doing what I love and taught me how to treat myself. And kept my PT and wife in the loop the whole time.. never seen that before.

Barefoot has kept my body in tip top shape for the last 2 years. Only need tune ups every couple of months and I stay pain free and don't get flared up doing things that I want to (camping/4WDing/surf skiing).

And open from 7am (that's when I go) til 6.30pm.

Absolutely excellent. Different to any clinic I've ever been to, and better in every way. Highly recommend. Years of problems gone with thorough assessment and problem solving.

Totally agree. Fully assessed to work out what the cause of the problem is. Much more thorough approach.

These guys are more expensive upfront but because they found the underlying cause and fixed my problem, I had faster results meaning less visits to the physio and better health in the long run! Definitely worth it!

Not like a normal Physio. I came in, in a pretty bad way with multiple problems. Had seen a fair few physios before with no results. Sally looked at EVERYTHING. Found some key areas that gave dramatic improvements across my whole body (ankles/back/neck/arm) and now I feel there is a way to move forward.

Approximate cost: $about $300 an hour (I have had 4 one hour consults with a huge change in that time)

Absolutely excellent. Would never have any other type of treatment now that I've experienced what Barefoot has to offer. Get a lot done with hour appointments. Totally believe I would have never gotten back to the level I'm at now without Barefoot Physiotherapy. Back doing Pilates, going for walks and playing soccer!

Approximate cost: $296 for hour follow up

If you've made the decision to get Physiotherapy this is the Physio you need to see. Costs a lot more than others but actually ends up cheaper in the long run because you need less visits and a lot less time. Can't believe the difference between Barefoot and other practices... I guess it's like anything: mechanics, hairdresser... there's all ranges of standards within a profession. And this is the top.

Approximate cost: $333 initial (hour) and $296 follow up (hour) - or $148 follow up (half hour)
