i had a very good day visiting Beaconsfeild mine and heritage centre with my grand children , they enjoyed the interactive activities and tour of where the shaft collapsed. we enjoyed seeing the old miners hut so much to see down there and a very relaxing day out with the family

my daughter loves going here. no matter how many times i take her she never gets bored with it. The staff are really good with kids. their is always a find and seek adventure game set up for the kids where they have to find australian animals throughout the museum and cross it off the piece of paper and then at the end of museum if they have found all of them they get a small piece of gold.I think this is a brilliant idea.
There is a lot of interactive and hands on displays throughout the museum. My favourite part is upstairs where is shows you the local history and mining. my daughter likes more of the mining part though especially the old mining cottage. Was interesting to go down to where the mine collapsed but both my daughter and I couldnt go into the recreation of the space where the miners were trapped. You will need a good couple hours to walk right through the museum if you want to get the most out of it. i think the price is brilliant with it only costing $16 for an adult and child.
