Beware of this company

This has got to be the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. The cupboards were installed only to find that there was a deep scratch on one of the doors.
We were told that an assessor had to come and review the case. This took a month. Then they took the scratched door away and it came back a month later having been primed white, a totally different colour to the other doors. When my wife called to complain 2 of the employees put the phone down on her. We called the head office and we received an email from the general manager to say that we should simply paint all the other doors as that is what is expected of primed doors. We had no idea the consequences of choosing primed doors and that painting them was a must. The salesperson did not give us all the facts to make an informed decision and now we have to spend a lot of money painting them where we could have chose better quality doors for the same money. I have called him twice and he does not return calls. Betta wardrobes has essentially washed their hands off the matter. They aren't prepared to help us in any way. I would never use them again for their poor after service and bad attitude towards their customers.

Do your research before using Betta Wardrobes and check out all review sites including www.productreview.com.au and Google Local reviews. If something goes wrong (they use contractors) you’re on your own. Like so many customers saying the consistent same things on different review sites and groups and also for us, Betta Wardrobes not only provided poor quality workmanship on our project, they also provided the worst customer service experience I have ever had and refused to inspect, apologise or even communicate in a professional manner. We experienced a complete lack of communication, responsibility, and respect for a project which went wrong from the start: Miss communication, wrongly measured up, cancelled contractors multiple times and always us asking when they will return. Following a long waiting time for install and after finally our Wardrobes were installed and the quality of workman ship being poor (see attached images) we immediately reported same day to head office of Betta. We had to constantly call and email, "the manager will get back to you" "the manager has not looked at" " im not sure why the manager has not called or emailed you" "i will ask and re forward again to the manager" is what we constantly were told. Customers cannot get to speak to a manager nor a supervisor i was told. And worse still not once does the manager contact the customer - just an office lady does who says shes knows nothing. After waiting for over a month, we were forced to clean up and fix up some of the issues ourselves to enable a 86yo lady to use her wardrobe again. This then led Betta to cleverly using this as an excuse to not return nor complete the remaining issues because we had been forced to "touched" the wardrobes ourselves. We are still left with original poor quality workmanship (see attached pics) and despite twice sending in detailed images, they refused to inspect, communicate and were totally unprofessional. We now also have a door rubbing against the left side upper shelves and was ignored - this is warranty issue. They have no time if something goes wrong and walk away from you and purposely do not communicate.

wish I had read the reviews before using, same story over and over. shower install was in my absence as agreed, got a phone call expecting payment over the phone there and then. I'm driving, two hours away, and inspect finish first, installer says will have to take door out, continues threats; I called another tradie who had his gear at the house to earn him, he went over and locked house for me. next day I saw they'd taken the payment from my credit card from a previous wardrobe install by them!!! this was refunded but imagine!!! checking the job, one screen was good, the other hand the black silica from old screen there. contacted management who were very similar to other reviews, defended installer, rude, hangs up. I paid for one screen, then all but $150 for second one, got a cleaner in made some improvement, then a plumber who was able to finish it off. management are filing in court for the $150, and they added a $290 filing fee, never seen anything like this, AVOID AVOID AVOID

Approximate cost: $2800

Terrible after sales service.
I have a warranty issue with my wardrobe. I notified Betta Wardrobes in March requesting a technician come attend to repairs. The job has been cancelled a number of times. Each time it is cancelled it appears to be put to the end of the queue. There is no one to escalate the problem to. It has been over 5 months and I have no confirmation when this problem will be resolved.

My shelves collapsed and Betta wouldn’t fix the problem

I was a loyal Betta Wardrobes customer for many years, but a horrible recent experience with their installation and after sales service has meant that I will never use them again.

I got a measure and quote before Christmas for wardrobes and bookshelves at my place in Fairlight.

The guy who took the measurements was fantastic. But we’ve had massive problems with the installation and Betta’s after sales service.

Weeks ago the shelves in the wardrobe collapsed, narrowly missing my son who was sleeping next to them.

When I checked the next morning, I saw that they had been installed incorrectly. The section that had come apart was missing a bracket that should have been screwed in.

I contacted Betta the next day and they said it was company policy to send the same person who installed the shelves to fix them and he wouldn’t be available for weeks.

I said that I didn’t want that bloke as he hadn’t done a very good job.

After repeated emails, phone calls and me going into the Brookvale show room they finally sent someone out - the same person who had done the dodgy job the first time.

He said that we must have caused the problem by falsely claiming that we must have slammed the sliding door. Amazingly, he then left without installing the bracket.

Betta’s inaction prevented me bringing my books up from the basement of our building. In the recent floods the basement flooded and I lost many of my precious books.

In the end I had to pay someone else to fix the shelves, even though they were meant to be under warranty.

Betta were completely unresponsive to my many calls and when they did come out they completely evaded responsibility for a problem their poor installation had created.

I will never use them again and could not recommend them to anyone else.

We contracted Betta to install a home office, with a specific deadline. When it came to installing, the units were the wrong size and had to be recut but still didn't fit - in the end some shelves were cut into to fit around a fusebox because it was the only way to fit it - despite being remeasured four times.

Betta offered to fix some of the work - for example, the side panel with a 10mm gap where it didn't reach the floor - but other workarounds would have left us with holes in the wall and still wouldn't resolve all the problems.

Overall, it took five site visits to do the work, the job was two months late and still not what we agreed. Getting anyone to take responsibility for the problems was really hard because the managers don't seem to like dealing with customers.

Approximate cost: $6000

The rep they sent out was terrible, wanted to get in and out with stock standard setup, when we want something well designed. Eventually asked them to leave when it was clear they would not help us get what we needed. When we tried to explain to the Taren Point head office and get a different rep, the manager wasn't interested in our side of the story at all, just kept defending the rep.

Really nasty head office staff who prefer hanging up so no responsibility is taken for defective parts (guide for sliding door of shower screen keeps falling out).

Even worse management - the rot is from the top down.

Don't use these people!

We waited over 5 months for our shower screen. It was measured 4 times. Attempted to be installed 5 times and even now with the finished product the quality is poor. Not at all a professional finish. Customer service is terrible, attempts to complain were all left with one person being responsible who in the end was rude aggressive and apparently the highest level of management I could complain to. Whatever you do do not use Betta.

I spoke to this company once on email to enquire about a quote, a second time to book in a measure and quote for a shower screen and wardbrobe and a third time to confirm the appointment. On none of these occasions was I asked if I had on site parking or told that this would be a requirement for the job. I delayed work in the morning to hang around for a person to show up who called me 15 minutes before they were meant to be at my place and told me they couldn't find a park and wouldn't be able to quote me because they wouldn't do the job without onsite parking. I've had my ENTIRE place renovated in the last three months, kitchen ripped out and a new one put in, floors done, bathroom completely demolished and redone, large appliances and all the materials for the bathroom dropped off (large pallets of tiles, vanity, shaving cabinet, toilet), electricians coming and going, plumbers working at my place all day, the kitchen installer working at my place all day and not a single one of those trades had an issue working with my location except the wardrobe guy. Terrible customer service. A poorly run business. A complete waste of time. And not a company I would never recommend. If onsite parking is a major prerequisite for doing a job then plaster it all over your website, make it the first question you ask a customer and then confirm it again and again before booking someone in and wasting their time. All I can say is congratulations to them on business being so great that they can have such terrible customer service and be able to turn away jobs.
