I am trying to support local businesses by ordering dinner a few nights a week. Today I chose your restaurant, The Buckingham Arms. I ordered through uber eats.

Half of my meal was missing. When I called to complain I spoke to the manager she claimed it was not on the order. She then said, " Oh it was at the bottom ".

I then had her say " you can come and drive and get it ". Well if that is how I wanted to get my meal, I would not have paid a ridiculously large delivery & service fee to get it delivered????

And the reason I get food delivered is that I am not driving at the moment.

So this left 1 substandard meal to feed 2 people.

Honestly, I am very disappointed with your Hotel and especially your Manager.

I would not recommend this hotel thanks to today's interaction. This is disheartening to me because I am a local!!!

We hadn't been to "The Bucky" for a long time so we were looking forward to seeing how much it had changed when we went to a large function recently. Hmm... Thanks to a few extra people unexpectedly turning up, extra chairs were simply added, making it very difficult to eat or move. The hot food was mostly lukewarm at best and the chicken nuggets were so tough (and almost cold) that I could scarcely cut them with a knife. To be fair, the salad and dessert bars were pretty good. Would we go back? Not unless there is another function to attend.

When you have several friends who have a range of allergies & food sensitivities this has to be the easiest place to eat at. I have taken friends here several times in the last few months and each time my friends have been delighted. Good value, excellent salads and a good range of healthy & popular food, the only thing they don't do is provide another option to lettuce, no rocket, no spinach & I am allergic to lettuce! Staff are always welcoming too & Entertainment vouchers are well accepted.

This venue is always great value for money. The food always looks and tastes amazing. Whether it's for a family dinner or an extended family get together, the Buckingham Arms is a great place to celebrate with great food.

one of the best priced smorgasboards around, have been here frequently in the past 15 years, food is great and the dessert bar is one of my favourites, plenty to go around on this smorgasboard for everyone so go and enjoy it once great value for money

Have been here several times over the past 10 years or so. This seems, in my opinion, to be one of the last hotels with a good smorgasbord! I wish more hotels had buffets still! Most recently went here for a family birthday. I agree that the decor is dated but that doesn't bother me at all. The buffet is fantastic and is great for a family get-together.

Approximate cost: $30

I agree the furniture is a bit dated, but had a nice meal there with my family at the all you can eat buffett, was lots of different options to choice from, but have to recommend the freshly cooked donuts for dessert

The Buckingham Arms Hotel has bars and eating areas but it is mainly known for its smorgasbord. At the moment it has a winter seniors special at 21.00 which is great value for lunch. Although the room is somewhat dated in decor I enjoyed my meal. The meals are well cooked and something for everybody. Especially the desserts. I like having a little of this and a little of that. A good spot for a winter's lunch

Great food, great service. But atmosphere isn't too new. Furniture bit old. But none the less place was hygienic. Not too much variety in the food but ok for a once in a while visit. The pizzas were very nice with very crusty edges and we asked for extra sauce which was available as well. Would recommend for family outing but not a romantic date

Approximate cost: $25

I'm surprised all of the feedback on womo is so positive other sites have plenty of negative reviews.
I think it comes down to if you like the buffet experience.
I enjoy the smorgasboard experience, I think it's a lot more than going to a normal restaurant (at least for a change). It is very interesting to try bits of everything. Anyway more specifically about this restaurant:

The furniture and setting is dated (not changed at all since I went 10 years ago). However it does give the restaurant charm and didn't bother me.

It doesn't look like there is a huge variety of things to choose from (and wouldn't be very interesting if you went weekly), but for a once off visit there was still enough variety that both mine and my girlfriend's stomach hurt afterwards. We only took small servings of the things we were interested in but we left very, very full.

I found their pudding to be very nice (didn't know I liked pudding before that).

If the owner of this restaurant is reading this and wondering what they would need to do to raise my vote to a 5 star - it would be to include an soft-drink self-service (at no extra charge). They did have coffee and water available at no extra charge.

Approximate cost: $30
