Our Philosophy

At Buckley & Phillips Aromatics, we take pride in being 100% Australian owned and founded. We value supporting the local economy, as such, we do not outsource production overseas. Australian ingredients, including essential oils, fragrances, labels, and packaging are sourced whenever possible. With expert and specialised knowledge built over four decades, we ensure that all products perform to an exceptionally high standard.

Our philosophy is simple: We focus on sourcing the finest quality ingredients so that each unique product inspires and enhances ambience and relaxation in your surroundings.

Our Origins

Directors Christopher Phillips and Maureen Buckley began the company as a small venture in 1972 selling handmade candles at local markets, such as the renowned St Kilda Esplanade Market. Then trading under the name 'The Gumleaf Candle Company', later to be known as 'Gumleaf Aromatics'.

Since these humble beginnings, Buckley & Phillips Aromatics has grown substantially now incorporating a wide range of aromatic products. Over the years more family members and field professionals have joined our team, sharing the same passion for aromatherapy and fine fragrance. To meet various customer needs, our head office located in Victoria's Yarra Valley has the capability for large-scale production for Australian and worldwide distribution, including contract manufacturing for fellow companies.

• Our Melbourne head-office uses solar-power and all wax vats are solar heated.
• Our eco-friendly jar candles are made using soy wax, coconut wax and lead-free cotton wicks.
• Our fragrant product ranges use only cosmetic-grade oils.
• Our candle jars, candle boxes, glass and PET bottles are completely recyclable.
