Great authentic Italian food. Friendly, knowledgeable wait staff and Sommelier on hand to provide recommendations as well as to assist with requirements of a most fussy diner.
Each dish cooked to perfection.

Very, very good italian food. Rustic and authentic. Nothing like the oversauced "italian" food that's found everywhere else try the carbonara! Excellent service too. The truffle fettuccine is the speciality of this restaurant. It's a cream-based pasta mixed with truffle, eggs and mouth-watering amount of cheese. We loved the traditional Italian ambience, the very knowledgeable and friendly service staff, The truffle egg pasta is good enough a reason to go back! (and for me to give it a 5 star rating!)

Best Italian hands down. The scallop starter was superb, with big perfectly cooked scallops. One of our table had the Tagliatelle for main, mixed at the table no less, so we all had a taste. The sommelier was very helpful and their wine list extensive and surperb too. This is the type of service we love. Waiters who think out of the box and go the extra mile. The food was truly exceptional - even better than many many great meals we had in other place. A must try for lovers of Italian cuisine

Had the pleasure of going to Bistecca on a busy Sunday lunch for sister in law's birthday, with a group of 9 people. A warm greeting from the owner and great service followed throughout, all staff seemed on the ball and any small items were attended to promptly. The space itself is really cool; spacious, interesting and with a nice range of quality fittings. The lights, pared back brick walls and the dining tables were all a highlight - it was nice sitting at the long table up near the kitchen.

We shared some of the pizzas to start, straight from the woodfired oven and they were spot on (really good). Right amount of topping, nicely cooked and with a thin dough - great start. Some other items were shared including the artichokes and calamari, I didn't partake but they looked really good. For my main I had the porterhouse steak (criminal not to have a steak in a place named after it!) and it was perfectly cooked which rarely occurs these days, nicely charred on outside and medium rare inside. Small bit of fennel and potato on the side and I was very happy.

Others had steak, fish (wife loved it, oven baked snapper was fish of the day) and the pork cuts skewered. Clean plates all round! Bathroom was a bit dirty, looked like a longish stretch since a clean and the window faced the outside area where some people were smoking so it was unpleasant to be in there. Tiny bit pricey too but it was great quality so I am not going to make it an issue, great place - get there!

Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Sydney! I had my wedding reception here many moons ago in the function room upstairs, so naturally I was keen to come back and see how things were now. Was not disappointed! The food is still cutting edge and brilliant, the wait staff were amazing, the prices...still high, but who cares? Its worth every cent. The restaurant is clean and beautifully appointed. These guys are the total package!

What can i say, this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Sydney! It is true, not one of the cheapest in town, but the food and the ambiance is amazing! I had Tournedos alla Rossini (Black Angus Beef) and my hubby had the Bistecca alla fiorentina which is a massive T-Bone steak. Both cooked to perfection! The ambiance is also very upmarket and gives a great vibe.
Great experience and great food

Not a cheap restaurant by any stretch of the imagination, but superlative in terms of the quality of service and attention offered, and in the fine food served up. The owner, Armando Percuoco, is friendly and approachable, ensuring all guests get the best of attention. At the same time, he keeps a steely eye on the kitchen. Amazing effort!! This is definitely the place to take that special someone. Of special note is the olive oil served up in the restaurant - it comes from Armando's own olive grove in the Hunter valley. I'm told the signature dish is Fettuccine al tartufovo (fettuccine with cream and parmesan, topped with a fried truffle egg.
Tossed at the table). Looking forward to trying it.

Approximate cost: $45 approx

This restaurant sounds amazing! I do value superior customer service, especially in expensive restaurants. I am now keen to check Buon Rocordo, so thankyou for your review.
