Candied Bakery

When I used to live in Spotswood I would take my dog for a walk after nightshift at work, in the morning, I would tie him up outside, get a chocolate milk & a vanilla slice, amd take it home. Best mornings, EVER!!

I must say I have heard alot of great things about this bakery and after going there I'm not sure it's as great as people have said.
Don't get me wrong it's a good bakery it just didn't wow me.
The prices are also a bit high.
All the cakes,bread,pies are of good quality but they are not mind blowing.
They also make soft serve which they change the flavour of weekly very expensive though especially when I can go to Maccas and get get my soft serve fix for 30 cents It cost me over $4 for a soft serve (almost $5).
It was a nice soft serve. but I think in future if I want a soft serve it most likely won't be bought at this store.
We each had a pie and a coffe chake similar to an iced coffee you would think they would use the soft serve but they didn't

Based on my experience shakes or iced coffees usually have ice cream in it.
So being they make their own soft serve I was expecting it to be in the coffee shake.
Oh well.
The pies were nice but were missing seasoning and some pizzaz.
We also bought some doughnuts which were not bad but not to die for either.
Overall If I was in the area and was hungry in need of a pastry I'd probably stop in but I probably wouldn't come to Spotswood especially to go there.

This is one of Spotswoods best kept secrets - an awesome bakery that does some seriously good bread, pies, lamingtons, and hot cross buns that have recently been voted the best in Melbourne (expensive though - over $13 for a half dozen is a bit rich for me to do more than once. They were pretty damn good though!).
They arent open every day, just Wednesday through to Sunday. Well worth a visit - particularly if you live in Spotswood - as they do some seriously yummy (if expensive) food.
