Excellent service from Brett, quick turnaround and very reasonable rates. Easy to deal with and appreciated the call to talk through requirements before proceeding.

I found Brett open and honest to deal with. Was disappointed to find out about the level of neglect from my previous mechanic. Had to spend more due to this. Car runs like a dream. Grateful for the honest feedback. He gave me options of what was urgent and what could wait. Highly recommend!

Approximate cost: $2500

Thanks Helen

I’ve had my car serviced from a variety of places throughout my driving years but last week I got my car serviced with you and I can honestly say that for the first time ever, I could FEEL the difference!
Usually after I get my car serviced (or see the dentist, haha) I wonder “Did they even DO anything?!” But last week when I got my car back, I genuinely felt the change. And having it cleaned as well as the service, it was a beautiful surprise that made my day!

Had an emergency where electric brakes on a horse float caused electrical problems and ECU to go into an error state. Brett had a look on the spot, replaced the blown fuse and cleared the ECU error, gave us a few spare fuses just in case and sent us on our way. Didnt charge us anything! Got us out of a real pickle. Great service, they know what they are doing and are keen to help.

I had what appeared to be a puncture so I called another local tyre shop and I was told to bring the car down. I asked several times if I should book it in as I didn't have time to go back and forward from work, but I was assured they could fix it straight away, or at least put on my spare, fix it, and I could pick it up the next day. I left work and took the car there only to be told quite bluntly that they has no time and I would have to bring it back and leave it with them the following day. When I explained I was told to bring it down straight away, I was told they had 'got busy' since then (in 15 minutes???). They wouldn't even look at my tyre to asses what may have been the issue, and said if it was unfixable they may have to get me a new tyre. I drove away quite annoyed but intending to bring it back the next day. Then I thought, no, I will Google another repairer and I came across really good reviews for Car Servicing & You. Considering it was on the same road just a little further down opposite, I decided to pop in. I am so glad I did. Nothing was too much trouble, even though they were clearly busy. My tyre was examined, found to have a nail in it and fixed on the spot - I was back on the road so quickly and the guys could not have been friendlier!! It was inexpensive and I was so happy it was done so fast as I need my car for work. Customer service here is fabulous and I would recommend them highly!!

Thanks Christine, your kind words are very appreciated. Its reviews like this that keep us going.

As a female we always worry about getting our car serviced, we worry about getting ripped off, taken for a ride and because we don't understand what's going on we normally do. Well not at CAR SERVICING AND YOU KEILOR PARK. This would honestly have to be the best service my car and I have gotten in a very long time. The boys explained and showed everything to me that needed doing and that could wait. I can't recommend paul and his boys enough I know we have found our mechanics and will never take our cars anywhere else. Thanks boys see you at the best service!!!

Steve was very helpful and very understanding when it comes to people with a budget. He breaks down what is needed to be done first when you have available funds and doesn't just fix anything without informing you first.
Patiently explains everything which is very helpful in understanding your car better.
Thank you Steve.
Update: I just got my car fixed again due to a problem I've been having for awhile which no one could fix but I'm very confident that it is fixed now. Issue was my engine would just completely shut when I'm driving, then it'd start back up again after a few minutes or so. After getting a brand new battery, ignition switch changed, ignition coil changed the problem was still happening until Steve mentioned it must be the fuel pump and fuel filter. Changed both, Steve left the car running for 20-30 minutes and i drove it home, no more engine shutting.
Thank you again Steve and to the staff who helped me get my car back on the road.

Thanks Heidi. I am glad the Honda is driving better. Let us know if any problems continue.

A few days ago, brought my car into the Ormond branch for an air conditioning fan repair quote and then decided to get the job done with them the same day.

Very friendly, honest and professional service right from the start. Got a call with detailed explanation of what the likely issue was and my options for repair, in an informative and helpful manner.

I was additionally informed about other non-urgent issues with the car and was given the choice between addressing immediately or waiting until the next car service.

The air conditioner fan is working perfectly now. On top of that there is a free loan car service and a coffee machine!

Great job guys. Just moved to the area recently so was looking for a new motor mechanic - looks like I'll be coming back for my next car service.

Thankyou Avid. We really appreciate your kind words.

I had a service done last year by Carnegie branch and I have been meaning to write about this earlier but forgot. I just came across this page so I decided i will let everyone know my experience. I brought my cat in for a regular service at the time I believe it was $150. 2 hours after I dropped my car off I got a call from the mechanic saying that there are many things which need urgent repairs and that the car is in unroadworthy condition. The list of things he gave me added up to almost $2016. I immediately contacted a friend who is a used car dealer and he said decline all repairs and only get the service, That's what I did.
The following day I brought the car to my friends mechanic for him to check it out, he thoroughly checked the car and said that there are no repairs needed and the car is in good roadworthy condition. I then called car servicing and you in Carnegie and asked why I was told that the car needs repairs when a independent mechanic has told me that there is absolutely nothing wrong, they were extremely rude and refused to disscus it with me! I have since obtained a roadworthy certificate from yet another independent mechanic and have sold the car to a friend. To date the car has done another 30,000km and has had no further repairs and is still in good roadworthy condition.

I am writing about this so innocent people don't have to go through this experience and get ripped off

Approximate cost: $2016

Hi Levis, can I please have your registration number so I can investigate. please email [email protected].

Thanks for sending through your rego details Levi and our subsequent email discussion regarding this review. I have investigated you claims and found the following. My initial investigation shows that you brought in a 2000 Model Toyota Corolla with 74000Kms on 15/3/2015.
The following repairs were recommended and quoted and given to you with individual costings on your invoice.
1.Wheel Alignment - $69
2. Wiper blades - $44
3. Drive belts $200
4. Replace spark plugs - $100
5. Transmission service - $249
6. Lower control arm rear bushes cracked - $500
7. Air filter - $44
8. Timing belt $500
9. water Pump $211
10.Coolant flush $99

Total cost of repairs - $2016 not $3000 as you stated in your original review. Thank you for correcting that.

The only item there that is a roadworthy item is number 6 - lower control arm bushes as VSI 26 states all suspension components must be properly mounted with no distortion, cracks, fractures or other damage likely to cause failure or instability.
It is up to the interpretation of the tester to decide whether the car meets these standards and it is common for RWC to be issued without all faults being repaired. We are more than happy to recheck the car and show you our interpretation and why we have recommended them.
In relation to the Timing Belt kit, Toyota recommends that the belt is replaced at 10 year intervals or 100000Km. As your car was 15 years old when we saw it and had no evidence of the belt being replaced, it would have been negligent of us not to report it and recommend its replacement. With the timing belt replacement, we always recommend replacing the water pump at the same time which also necessitates a cooling system flush.
The transmission service was recommended, along with spark plugs and air filter as service items. Toyota recommend replacement of trans fluid at 80000 kms and as your cars fluid was looking quite burnt we recommended servicing to prevent excessive wear to the transmission.
Toyota also recommend replacement of spark plugs and air filter at 80000 kms or 8 years and again as your car had not reached the kms required but was 15 years old we recommended these be changed.
The drive belts are a rubber component that were 15 years old when we saw it and signs of perishing in the belts was evident on inspection. Like timing belts which are made of a similar material it is advisable to replace them before they break and cause further damage.
While we respect you are entitled to your opinion, we disagree with your assertion that we intentionally set out to rip people off. We are always interested in our customer's feedback as we place a high emphasis on being thorough and giving the customer the choice to repair the car and advising them when their car no longer meets roadworthy standards as vehicle owners are legally obliged to ensure their car is kept roadworthy under the road safety act. What they choose to do with that advice is of course up to them.

Highly professional and very informative, Car servicing and You was my knight in shining armour. We were driving back to Sydney and my Holden Wagon’s warning lamp turned on. We had to go back to Sydney urgently and they made sure my vehicle was safe to drive long distance and provided advice. We are now safely back in Sydney.
My car was serviced by Paul at Keilor Park branch. We can’t thank you enough, even without a scheduled appointment they were extremely friendly and helpful. Many thanks.

Thanks for your kind words. Paul and the team will be happy to know you made it back home safely.

Have you seen "rescue my renovation"? well that is what Steve did when he rescued my car from a dodgy repair job by incompetent mechanic. Turn a bad situation into a happy ending.
I went back for a service a few months later. It was very competitively priced, quick and it comes back to you washed and vacuumed. It was due for a transmission fluid change so they did that as well.
I have just done a trip to top of Mt Buller and back , my 2007 auto Astra powered up Mt Buller , in fact they only time I didn't do the speed limit was when we were stuck behind a slow 4wd. Very happy with car servicing and you. Steve knows cars.

Thanks Bron. we are glad all is going well with the Astra. Steve will be very happy to see your kind words.

They also let us know that the vehicle is in serious need of a service as it is well overdue which we didn't know as we presumed this would have been up to date.Great service from great people if you live in Melbourne or need help on your way through Melbourne definitely go to these guys. We can't thank you enough Steve and your workers.

Kelly, we really appreciate your kind words, Steve and the team will be very happy to see your review.

For years I've suffered from dodgy mechanics, so I thought well WOMO can't get it wrong....IT DID. I went to Car Servicing & You due to the 5 star feedback- surely it can't be dodgy?

The car was overdue for a service and had a problem with the petrol being used at a ridiculously scary rate. It also would get a warning that the ABS system had a fault.

Explained all of this to the mechanic, expecting some bad news..... few hours later I get a phone call explaining all of these things needing to be done that add up to over $2000, if I get it all done, it'll be like a new car- If I get most of it done around $1800 it'll be safe/reliable etc. etc. My bf and I figured it needed things done and gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and proceeded to have the $1800 worth of work/servicing done to it- he also mentioned we'd be able to pick the car up that night even though there was so much to do...

Pick the car up and the mechanic warns us that he thinks they've fixed the ABS problem but maybe not- as soon as they turn the car on it starts notifying us of its fault- not fixed, but that's ok as it was a possibility.

After we drive away we occasionally start to notice this weird kind of rattling fan kind of sound from one side of the car.

The petrol starts being used at a more normal rate- tick.

2 weeks later driving the car- it starts to shake like REALLY BAD! My partner looks under the bonnet and notices that the new leads are sitting on the exhaust (the mechanic mentioned previously that the old leads were fried so they were replaced!) the car shakes and sparks fly. So we can't drive it. I call the mechanic he says bring it back and he'll have a look at it etc.

I take it in the next day (before I leave for a 2 week holiday) and leave it with him. Later on I get a call letting me know that the leads are melting on the exhaust and it's missing some protective cap, but it's a prior problem to when they changed the leads over so this time he will charge me only for the parts to replace the leads again and put some tape on them to hold them in place....something like $150 I swear he said. I was Like what, why? then he goes on again about the problem existing prior to when they fixed it---blah blah... So because they didn't do their job properly and figure out why the first set of leads were fried I have to pay again? I call my partner and explain the situation and he speaks to the mechanic and after some discussion and my partner saying how it is- that they can't charge us twice for the same job! the mechanic turns around straight away and says "I'll do ya a favour, because you spent so much money, I'll do it free of charge for ya." So then I go to pick it up and he says to me like he was going to all along "Free of charge for you!"---not like we didn't have to argue it. So that's my long story. Basically in my experience I wouldn't go back to be charged twice for them not doing their job in the first place- then trying to take advantage of a female who knows nothing about cars and can't stand confrontation. They deserve this review and this one star. I've had enough of mechanics!

P.S. 2 weeks later get back from my holiday AND MAYBE this is a coincidence, most likely....But maybe not.....The car starts overheating due to a burst hose. (found out from a mechanic friend- should've used them from the start.)

Approximate cost: $1400

Hi Louise, thank you for taking the time to write this review. I have investigated your experience with us and agree that you were treated unfairly, much to my disappointment.
You are correct in saying that the issue should have been resolved under warranty without hesitation and the initial cause of the fault should have been reported to you with the original repair. While this is of little consequence to you now, the mechanic who worked on your car was new to us at the time and is no longer with us.
I have spoken with the manager regarding our warranty policy and he certainly understands that how he approached your situation was not right.
In relation to the ABS fault i note that it was recorded on your invoice that the ABS unit was faulty and that the codes had been cleared but the fault not rectified. In these circumstance when a fault code is recorded in your car's electronic management systems there is a chance that it is a historical fault code that just needs to be cleared from the computer's memory. We did this for you but given the ABS unit is faulty the fault code came straight back.
In relation to the hose blowing, on cars like yours that are over 10 years old and over 150000kms, it is not always possible to predict when items like that will fail. At the time of service we did pressure test your cooling system and found a faulty radiator cap which you agreed to have replaced with the service. No other fault was found in the cooling system at that time. I also need to note that the cost of your repairs on the day was $1400 not $1700.

I am happy for you to contact me directly as we would like the opportunity to correct our mistake and help out with some of the other repairs the car still needs. Please call me directly on on 0400 543 500. My name is Jeremy.

Highly professional service in technical aspects as well as equally professional and honest in attitude to customers.
They manage to find and fix the problem on my Mitsubishi Grandis after uncountable attempts to get it done by dealership service, which produced just wasted time, money and plenty of disgusting discussions.
"Car Service & You" proved they are much better than fancy branded service.
I am very much grateful to Symak, Mike and all other team members for their efforts, time and attention paid to to kill a gremlin in my car
Great thanks guys!

Hi Andrew, thanks for taking the time to write this. More importantly, thanks for having the patience to work with us as we got your car resolved. Computer and electronic faults are not always straightforward and without your patience our job would have have been much more difficult.

I was treated with courtesy & professionalism.
The premises - office & workshop are clean & organised, the same way my vehicle & i were treated.
Steve & Sam fixed my problem immediately, with professional advice and at the right price.

Honest, Old fashioned service with a smile & trustworthy.
